I watched the migration of wildebeest (and many other beasts) in Kenya, and they were all backed up at the Mara river, scared to cross due to the stench of rotting previous attempts , hundreds of vultures, and Nile crocodiles, which were too full to care anymore. Awesome sight.

They're dumb as bricks, though. If they had been smart like the zebras, they would have taken the nice bridge quarter of a mile away.

None, I'm pretty sure. There are abundant homoPHONES, however.

It's science.

Smitty The Intrawebs bow to your LOL majik.

Not sure everyone got this......
Gnu is the (Native African I think) name for the wildebeest.
And Score!!!.....He hits the triple double.

Do have a question though....
Does anyone know if the wildebeest are the animals that charge and run down (i.e. maul and trample) morons that get to close? I'm remembering this from a class (long ago) on evolution, where the professor (If Im recalling the right animal) said something, to the effect, that the reason they charged anything close was due to both the lack of shelter, as well as the limited water supply. The water supply part came from the fact that water most water holes are major hunting areas for predators. So with very few water holes the risk of going in also requires some (even minor) means of protection. Supposedly these animals are damn dangerous and cause a number of deaths and injures.

So the question is, does anyone know if I've got the right Beastie here, or am I confusing it with a different one?

BTW, Im guessing the danger isnt really from the size as it is from the horns and the speed of up to 50mph (An assumption given I'm remembering right).

jayday: So the question is, does anyone know if I've got the right Beastie here, or am I confusing it with a different one?

I'm thinking that many/most animals in Africa will charge/trample/eat the average moran that gets too close. It is Africa after all and not, say, Central Park.

/stupid people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup
//encourages stupid people to hang out with hungry African animals
