Hell Yeah by Bloodhound Gang.

Because the aliens need to know that if I were god that's what I would do.
2006-12-10 03:38:14 PM
How about David Hasselhoff's stunning rendition of Hooked on a Feeling (pops). That should get them to turn tail and leave us alone.

Of course, they could be German aliens, in which case we'd all be screwed.

"Watcher of the Skies" - Genesis

Watcher of the skies watcher of all
His is a world alone no world is his own,
He whom life can no longer surprise,
Raising his eyes beholds a planet unknown.

Creatures shaped this planets soil,
Now their reign has come to an end,
Has life again destroyed life,
Do they play elsewhere, do they know
More than their childhood games?
Maybe the lizards shed its tail,
This is the end of mans long union with earth.

Judge not this race by empty remains
Do you judge God by his creatures when they are dead?
For now, the lizards shed its tail
This is the end of mans long union with earth.

From life alone to life as one,
Think not now your journeys done
For though your ship be sturdy, no
Mercy has the sea,
Will you survive on the ocean of being?
Come ancient children hear what I say
This is my parting council for you on your way.

Sadly now your thoughts turn to the stars
Where we have gone you know you never can go.
Watcher of the skies watcher of all
This is your fate alone, this fate is your own.

Anything off Lick My Decals Off, Baby. Actually I might just tie them down to their chairs and play the album for them over and over and over. But I like to do that to people, anyway.

I'll go with Jefferson Starship, from Modern Times, the song called "Alien."
It begins:

Are you an alien
are you from this earth
would you care to tell me
details of birth...

/just seems apropos
2006-12-10 04:31:14 PM
What if the Aliens can't hear? Did I just blow your mind?

/makes the top 5 on any body's 'Best 'Damn it, Jim!'s' list
2006-12-10 04:37:46 PM

Obviously the Aliens would output the signal to a detectable medium, duh.

And of course they can hear. If they spawned on a planet with an atmosphere, it would be evolutionarily retarded to not be able to detect high-frequency barometric fluctuations, AKA sound.

Therefore, all sentient planet-born species can listen to Dark Side of the Moon.
Did I just blow YOUR mind?

Rebellion by Diary of Dreams. Personally, if I heard that come whispering out of a planet, I would turn my saucer around and head in the opposite direction.

"Big Puzzle" by The Flower Kings

Every night when I'm watching the sky
Look for big ships passing by
I'm out on my own
You may say that I'm alone
But I wish that someone would take me home

What can I do? Oh, what can I say
To stop the world from turning?
I can always wish that you believe it when I say
We get closer the more we are learning

We were born in a sparkling ignition of lust
Whilst the timeless soul found a home
This puzzle grand is not of this earth
You know well you can't make it alone

Makes me ache every time I hear it.

Seconding "Yakko's Universe" -- if I'd gone through my playlist in time I'd have come up with that, though.

Of course, that's assuming they can understand English.

If they can't, I'd go with "The Planets" by Gustav Holst.

Of course, if I want to be patriotic... then I'd go with "Freedom" by Aretha Franklin.

Honorable Mentions:
"Joy To The World" (Three Dog Night)
"Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen)
"Yellow Submarine" (The Beatles)
"Sirius" (Alan Parsons Project)
"Also Sprach Zarathustra" (Richard Strauss)
"All-Star" (Smash Mouth)
"House For Everyone" (Traffic)
"Magus' Theme" (Chrono Trigger)
"Gotta Get Up" (Nilsson Schmilsson)
"White Rabbit" (Jefferson Airplane)
