Well, some do.

The government better watch out...ninja's have been known for freaking out and killing people and stuff.

"I just want people to know that the ATF isn't being accountable, acting as if they are above the law."

Hmmm, do I make a Steven Segal reference or a Judge Dredd reference? Decisions, decisions...

2006-12-07 02:03:32 PM
Wow. what a bunche of ar-tards. Dude's just out for a jog in his ninja garb and some jerk off ATF guys decided he's "suspicious" and take him down? That's assault right there. The fact that he only wanted an apology and didn't intend to take the matter to court shows that he's a nicer ninja than I am.

This story needs more taser.

Maybe the ATF is just Pro-Pirate?

Maybe Dr. McNinja knows a good ninja lawyer he could hire.

I get so tired of the whiney "I didn't hear","I thought it was my friends","I thought he was yelling salt not halt!" people give as an excuse when they get tackled to the ground for not obeying an order to stop.

I love it- two UGA threads in one afternoon.

Of course, neither makes us looks too great.

2006-12-07 02:13:33 PM
Idiot.
He was told to stop and he ran.
Lucky it was a knee to the back and not a bullet.

Wait till it happens to you and then see how you feel...

First they came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Communist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up,
because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up,
because I was a Protestant.

Then they came for me, and by that time there was no one left
to speak up for me.

It's "breathe", not "breath" new life into the story.

Ninja, please!

1) Ninjas are mammals.
2) Ninjas fight ALL the time.
3) The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people.

2006-12-07 02:22:09 PM
What a moran. He says it doesn't matter that he was stopped for looking suspicious, his problem is with "how" he was stopped.

But they tried to stop him by less aggressive methods, speaking to him, but he didn't stop thinking it was a joke.

What exactly were they supposed to do after he didn't stop?

I hope he can hold his breath for a long time waiting for that apology.

2006-12-07 02:22:31 PM
Obeying an order to stop? From whom? Look at what they were wearing. Would you stop just because someone out-of-the-blue tells you to do so?

2006-12-07 02:29:15 PM
Are you kidding me?
I am estatic with the possibility of a UGA trifecta in play...c'mon farkers. Make it happen!

now, UGA ninja awaits for official apology...

QFT. If I'm jogging along, and some tubby, Dockers-wearing doof with an attitude yells "Stop, suspicious-looking person", I'd think "hey, look at the out-of-work mall security guard" and say "Why?".

If the tub replied "ATF! Freeze" - well, then I'd maybe stop, but I'd correct him with "you mean BATFE?" (they hate that. :)

I know plenty of cops, real cops, who know how to make a suspect contact without having to tackle some kid in his pajamas for taking a jog. What is this - the Soviet Union all of a sudden?

I imagine he thought it should go something like this.

Cop: "FREEZE!"

Ninja: "Ha ha my friends are so funny."

Cop: "I said freeze scumbag."

Ninja: "They're not gonna fool me. I ain't stopping."

Cop: "Excuse me sir? I said freeze and I really, really
mean it. I'm not one of your friends. I'm a real cop and I think you look suspicious. I would like you to freeze so that I can question you in a friendly manner."

Ninja: "Oh my I'm terribly sorry. I thought you were a friend trying to trick me. I'm glad your a nice cop who's willing to talk it out with potential law breakers. Any other cop would have used his legal right to plant me into the ground with a knee in my back after I didn't stop the first time you said freeze. Thanks for being so understanding."

"Ransom said his mother contacted a lawyer for advice and is finishing another letter to be sent to President Bush."

The ninja also appears to run to his his mommy for help with the big bad government people.

FTA-arc Jackson, a spokesman for the Atlanta Field Division of the ATF, declined to comment, saying the agency doesn't want to "breath new life into the story."

That's like saying, "Nothing to see here folks... No really, it happened so long ago, you really don't want to know about it. It's really just not a big deal, just look the other way." There's apparently still some life in the story, just issue an apology for replicating movie cheese by yelling "FREEZE!". What college kid wouldn't laugh and keep walking, thinking some asshat's just pulling his leg? Look at the picture, they're not uniformed. I think I can see a badge on the guy's belt that's holding him down, but I'm not sure. Either way, you might want some sort of uniformed presence to show people you're serious.

Well given how the series of events happened and the fact your ATF officers used excessive force on a innocent student. I really don't think you have that choice.

2006-12-07 02:38:52 PM
It's against the law to ignore tubby farks in khakis who identify themselves only as "Freeze" now?

Ransom didn't want to take legal action against the agents, but sent a letter asking for an apology.

That ain't 'murkin.

YEAH! My state got a shout out. Though be it I live in southern part of state. South Georgia sucks. Can say that because I live there.

WHOOT, WHOOT Georgia!

2006-12-07 02:50:33 PM
The thing is, the guy never said he was an ATF agent, he just tackled the kid in front of a dining hall. If you spend any time on a college campus, it's not so weird to see a kid dressed up as a ninja or a pirate or a pink rabbit.

2006-12-07 02:51:49 PM
Typicaly, I'm fairly pro-cop.

"Freeze!" is simply retarted.

even

"ATF! Freeze!" would be fine.

You do not have to stop for people randomly yelling "Freeze" on the street. In fact, you probably shouldn't.

People that identify themselves as police officers however, well, that IS another story.

But not this story, it seems.
There's more details to be had, I'm sure, but that's what courts are for.
Sue the bejeesus out of them.

2006-12-07 02:54:50 PM
In hindsight, he should've ran into the campus police station and yelled "Some random guys off the street are yelling and chasing me!"

We could've had a better headline.

2006-12-07 02:57:00 PM
If he were a real ninja no one would have seen him...

Xanthier

Believe it or not, when walking down the street, a random person in street clothes telling you to "stop" is not a Commandment From On High.

2006-12-07 02:59:09 PM
If it were a pirate, he'd have killed hundreds by now. Ninjas are way more diplomatic than pirates.

2006-12-07 03:10:29 PM
The only thing I can think of is the horror felt when they opened up the door to the room full of dead pirates.

2006-12-07 03:11:24 PM
The ATF's official response:

"We arrrrrr not going to comment on this mateys"

now Im suspicious.

2006-12-07 03:12:25 PM
Two fat guys on a college campus in plain clothes yell at me to freeze, I think I'm accelerating. In fact, I don't think those two could catch anydamnbody that was genuinely fleeing.

2006-12-07 03:17:14 PM
attention ATF agents... kids on a college campus do weird stuff. there was a group of kids at my school a few years back (4 i think) running around with a big fake missile to protest the war. i also saw a big fat guy in a bikini and a gorilla mask run into a restaurant, kick a guy in the ass and then run out. pretty damned suspicious.

2006-12-07 03:18:07 PM
Sue you dumbfark, you're in the media, you hurt your back and they didn't identify themselves.. you stand to make tons of loot off this
