Falk is a massively important industry in the industrial field (sorry about the redundancy). This story impacts people all over.

Hailster: wow...the retired guy that WISN Channel 12 just interviewed was completely useless

No kidding. Watched it then he said he retired 10-12 years ago, you could see the reporters' kind of cringe when he said that

No, sorry. I'm not sure if putting up the phone# is allowed here, since phone numbers are looked down upon by the Fark Mods....I'll try to find the number online for ya

/hopes for the best for your friend dude.

No.

2006-12-06 11:28:22 AM
I live across town facing away from the explosion in an apartment complex. At the time I just thought my fat ass neighbors upstairs slipped and fell or something.

Picodenico

It's not a personal phone number, so it might be OK to post...the mods may let you. If not, they'll just delete it.

I didn't take it down. Post it for Thrawn.

Here's a link for up to date info. Hopefully they post the emergency contact # there soon.

Good news

Fox 6 is reporting that according to an AP release, they were evacing people beforee the explosion due to some sort of leak in the building, so that's why there's so few injuries apparently

2006-12-06 11:36:53 AM
Just to clarify, that number is a hotline set up for people to call to find out about Falk workers...it's not a personal phone number.

Thanks, picodenico

Yeah, considering we're doing a county emergency drill up here near appleton.... I looked at the story and was like "Hmm, did someone not get the memo that this wasn't real?"...

/in a bunker atm
//haha the ammonia is leaking (suppostly)
///this is a test, this is a drill. your nco is me!

2006-12-06 11:40:17 AM
to clarify, I know this is real. I just originally thought that it may have not been considering I think it's maybe a statewide drill today?

Texaco Saves: Peter Venkman warned them not to shut off the power.

Nobody's topping that.

Condition of the 4 is serious but not critical - not life threatening, but possibly limb-threatening.

Those poor people.
:(

Wow,
My Buddy works in Milwaukee. About 2 miles from that explosion site and walks to work every day at 8:00am. Hope he ducked the debris.

I also drove by there everyday on my way to work in East Side of Milwaukee from Racine. I don't know the place but I'm sure I passed it everday.

I also have a assload of family from Racine. Wonder if they heard/felt it.

/Wisconsin Farker Here.
//Like the idea of a fark party WI style.

I work in a building on 28th & Wells about 1/2 mile north. I 'm on the 7th floor and it felt like the whole building swayed, lights flickered but it sounded like thunder. I'm on the north side of the building. I thought that something had struck the building. Then fellow employees on the south side reported an explosion with a large fireball in the Menomonee valley. We could see large cloud of black smoke from the Falk factory area.

2006-12-06 11:53:46 AM
From what I understand there is still one person who is missing. The command center is over at Miller Park so that's where the family's are going to.

They manufacture industrial transmission parts and are one of the leaders in that field so I'd assume this will throw a wrench in other comapines as well until things are straightened out.

Don't worry Farkers, Miller and the casino are Aok.

2006-12-06 11:55:52 AM
This sucks, I see Falk when I drive to UWM. I heard the boom from my home near Stallis. Sounded like a chunk of snow fell off the house.

I hope everyone there is okay.

I'm glad to hear that. Just I heard that report I was telling my boss that I'd hoped they had some warning so people could get out or at least further away from the blast area. I hope they find the missing person soon.

2006-12-06 12:06:24 PM
TMJ is reporting there's at least one death.

2006-12-06 12:08:29 PM
morbo, It was probably the person who was working on the propane tank when it exploded.

2006-12-06 12:09:11 PM
Now they're saying 2 dead, 1 missing.

2006-12-06 12:10:09 PM
Am I the only one in Milwaukee on Fark who didn't hear this?

2006-12-06 12:10:41 PM
WTMJ said there are still 2 people under the rubble yet, but rescue teams can't reach them.

2006-12-06 12:12:23 PM

2006-12-06 12:14:05 PM

I was driving into work north easterly on the Rock when it happenned and I didn't see or hear anything even though I was pointed in that direction.

And I still don't have news on my friend either.

2006-12-06 12:26:50 PM
Good to know that I am not deaf. I hope everyone is okay. As soon as I get back from picking up the new Castlevania from work I am going to crack a beer and hope that everyone involved is doing well.
