Win your conference next year Michigan

2006-12-03 10:23:08 PM
Go GATORS! Tebow will win this one for us!

2006-12-03 10:23:29 PM
kenny_brockelstien: It should have been Michigan

Shouldn't Michigan have won their conference for a shot at the national title?

2006-12-03 10:23:34 PM
Suck it libs

2006-12-03 10:23:47 PM
I see that the television network bean counters have rendered a decision as to which teams would be best for the maximum advertising profit to play for the BCS championship.

Carry on.

2006-12-03 10:23:53 PM
bah... pownded as well... well done cat....

2006-12-03 10:24:08 PM
As a diehard Tennessee Volunteer fan... go Ohio State.

i69.photobucket.com

Yeah! I hate the Gators that much!

2006-12-03 10:24:18 PM
Should have been Rutgers. I'm in denial. I know.

2006-12-03 10:24:29 PM
Fark yeah! I went to middle school with Brandon James and Jacques Rickerson, and one of my good friends played on Tebow's high school state winning team (as a receiver, so he knew tebow well).

Go Gators!

/transferring to UF next fall

2006-12-03 10:24:36 PM
Shouldda been Michigan... Florida has been barely getting by in their games. Too reliant on "D", Michigan deserved a rematch.

BSC sux.

2006-12-03 10:24:45 PM
For only losing one game, MI has to have the best quality loss of the year.

/Gators are gonna get slaughtered

kenny_brockelstien: Let me just be the first to say "It should have been Michigan"

If Michigan played in a conference with a championship, and came out of their season 12-1, then yes it should have been them.

Instead, they play in the Big 10+1, which refuses to add a 12th team and a title game so as to boost their teams' chances in the national picture. Sign up Notre Dame to the Big 10+2, and then we can talk.

2006-12-03 10:25:21 PM
Score one for those of us who support the playoff system...

/BOOMER SOONER!

2006-12-03 10:26:19 PM
Michigan State is better than Florida, but they lost in the "playoff game"

Ohio State 42
Florida 10

2006-12-03 10:26:38 PM
Everybody knows the best bowl game every year is Holiday Bowl.

2006-12-03 10:26:42 PM
I, for one, think the BCS actually got it right and put the best two teams in the title game.

2006-12-03 10:27:51 PM
damnit im gonna have to listen to Ohio State fans for weeks after Florida loses

michigan was the only team that stood a chance

i hate living in ohio...

2006-12-03 10:27:58 PM
Beat me to the punch, weaklingrecords.

Florida, you can thank us for the chance now.

/Bruin fan

2006-12-03 10:28:14 PM
As a long-time nerd, it astounds me that the BCS, a system ostensibly managed by computers that are fed hard numbers, can be totally devoid of any logic whatsoever.

/won't pay attention to college football until they have a playoff system

2006-12-03 10:28:57 PM
So you are saying that the 2nd place team in the Big 10 should have played for a National Championship?

Florida won their conference and should play for it.

Michigan had the chance to play for the National Championship and they lost. You move on.

If they got to play Ohio State again and had beat them by 3 this time would Ohio State get to play a best of 3 game?

Doubt it.

You are aware that conference championship games exist solely to generate revenue for their respective conferences and not to "boost their teams' chances in the national picture," as you so ignorantly claim, right?

2006-12-03 10:29:14 PM
Go Bucks!

/does anyone else think Notre Dame and Wake Forest don't belong in the BCS?

2006-12-03 10:29:22 PM
At least it's one of the three OSU schools.

/Go Pokes!!
//Beavers too!!!

2006-12-03 10:29:24 PM
Should be UClA Vs OHIO. Trojans SUCK

2006-12-03 10:29:50 PM
I'd rather have seen the Sooners play the Bucks-Their loss to Oregon State was not real...

Maybe next year...

2006-12-03 10:29:58 PM
No one ever 'deserves' a rematch. These things are given, they are not a right! Michigan already blew their shot at the national championship. They should be thankful that they at least got one shot...

I think the game will actually be fairly close. Both coaches are great at coming up with crazy schemes when given enough time. This game could be won on razzle-dazzle and less on football fundamentals, which means it will be a fantastic game to watch!

/Go crazy Urban Meyer spead-Tebowness!

2006-12-03 10:31:08 PM
It doesn't matter which team the BCS has decided to be beaten by Ohio State. They should just give the Buckeyes the title and show season highlite clips on the jumbotron for the crowd to see.

2006-12-03 10:31:16 PM
bollocks to the bcs.

2006-12-03 10:31:23 PM
Good.

#1 Ohio State: National Champions.
#2 Michigan: Rose Bowl Champions.

M Go Blue!

2006-12-03 10:31:49 PM
I think Florida and Michigan are both better teams, but the Oregon-Oklahoma miscall is even bigger now for the playoff people. There should be one more 1 loss major conference champ with a beef about not getting a shot.

2006-12-03 10:32:14 PM
go hokies
//livin it up in the burg

2006-12-03 10:32:49 PM
Techhell: #1 Ohio State: National Champions.
#2 Michigan: Rose Bowl Champions.

Don't forget #3 Wisconsin: Captial One Bowl Champions.

2006-12-03 10:33:02 PM
Also they should crown OSU champions right now because when a team is compared to the greatest teams of all time they can never lose the national champioship game...*cough* USC last year *cough*

/Its actually going to be close...

2006-12-03 10:33:50 PM
Florida also lost, to Auburn, so they're really no better than Michigan (who lost one as well). That means Ohio State goes into this as the rightful favorite.

Still, I hope the SEC chanmpion wins.

2006-12-03 10:33:55 PM
Well, in football Duke does suck. They went 0-12 this year.

2006-12-03 10:34:23 PM
Annnnnnnnnnnnnd now watch as Ohio State absolutely kicks Florida's ass in one of the most boring BCS Championship games ever. Go Ohio State.

/Michigan Fan.
//It should of been Michigan.

2006-12-03 10:34:28 PM
Also, since they added a 12th game anyhow, everyone in the big 10 should play each other like the pac-10 does now. I know they can't count, but just cut out the I-AA cream puff that each team schedules every year. Wisconsin should have had a shot at OSU also.

2006-12-03 10:34:31 PM
Michigan wins by at least 2 touchdowns. Ohio State rapes Florida 42-7

/Let this be like 95
//Gators got 14 points off of Nebraska who got 62
///GATORS SUCK!!!

2006-12-03 10:34:39 PM
dmd8605: You are aware that conference championship games exist solely to generate revenue for their respective conferences and not to "boost their teams' chances in the national picture," as you so ignorantly claim, right?

Yea, extra game against a top-10 team doesn't boost at all...
Put the pipe down

2006-12-03 10:35:41 PM
Florida has been barely getting by in their games. Too reliant on "D",

What the fark does that mean? Win with offense, win with defense, they both count the same.

I seem to remember a team a few years ago that won a national title after winning a lot of close games. Now, a few years later, they're the consensus top team in the country and everyone has forgotten how they won that title (except Miami).
