I like it. It may help some kids who are being brought up like veal get some exercise. Plus, I'm all for kicking the cat and blaming it on the game.

I'm guessing that the first lawsuit is going to be for tennis Wii-elbow.

I'd suspect it'll really be for 'emotional pain and anguish' when the first Wii-user-flailling-about-like-a-crack-addled-epileptic video posts on youtube.

2006-11-26 02:44:18 AM
I've just realized that..

1. my last post could be very hurtful to those who are epileptics or who have close relatives who are

2. I need to go check YouTube

I hurt the first couple of days, but I think that had to do more with sitting outside for 14 hours to get the dammed thing. I played Zelda for 6 hours straight last night and I feel fine.

2006-11-26 08:26:52 AM
how is zelda?

Zelda > infinity

2006-11-26 08:47:45 AM
I wish I had more time to devote to Zelda, but I have to work. I just finished the Goron Mines couple of nights ago when I last played. The horseback chase was one of the coolest things i've done in a game in a long time.

I called this when I first heard about the Wii. Wii owners are going to be the Alpha Males in the nerd community.

My arm hurts from Wii bowling, I think it's more from hyper extending your elbow than anything. It's by no means a work out, you just don't normally do that.

Zelda owns.

Wii bowling owns. My girlfriend doesn't like video games at all, but she won't stop playing Wii sports.

There are no words to explain the greatness that is Zelda. 30 hours in and I'm not done with the 4th dungeon.

Dammit, I haven't touched a gaming system in years, but your talk of Zelda is tempting me...

So Zelda is worth the price? I wanna buy a Wii but I need some computer repair that will cost about the same so ive been hesitant to drop money on a system and game im not 100% Im gunna like.

Will stick to my pc for awhile longer, till ive got more bank, in the bank.

Don't bother, he was given a fatal roundhouse kick to the head before the message even reached the Fark servers.

Chuck Norris aside, I just got my Wii today. Stood in line at best buy with about 30 other people for it. It was like Launch Part II Featuring John McCrea from Cake.

"It's harder than playing basketball," says Kaitlin Franke, a 12-year-old from Louisville, Ky. She has been camped out in front of her family's TV, fine-tuning her bowling motion

If by "playing basketball" you mean putting on a UK jersey and doing some 12 ounce curls in front of the TV. Yeah I'm talking about the pre-teens there too.

Bunch of whiners.
Of the Wii Sports, the one that requires the most movement is boxing. You can block your face and torso, dodge left and right, and perform high and low punches.

2006-11-26 01:44:31 PM
Zelda is t3h pwnage. But if you live in a college environment, or anywhere where you have a bunch of friends around almost constantly, Wii Sports can be just as awesome. You may be flailing around like idiots, but damn is it fun.

Rule number one concerning the Wii:

-Make sure that they are no expensive, breakable objects nearby. My friend learned the hard way.

Rule number two:

-Perform some stretches beforehand. Seriously.

I don't see why there won't be workout games for the wii in the near future. There is already a minigame in Wario Ware that has you doing squats. I don't see why there wouldn't be a "game" that was based around it.

Mr. Fuzzypaws: Why are you buying so many Wii?

I'm going to buy up the whole market and the flood it at my price.

Since when does basketball require bowling?

2006-11-26 03:35:28 PM
Ah, sorry, just RTFA.. I'm guessing one of the Wii games involves bowling, but still, how hard is it to perfect something that is essentially relaxing your arm?

Where are you getting those? Sheesh, I only want one....

GoDeep: Where are you getting those?

The Target I got mine from only got 42 for launch, they got another 100 by the end of the week. Go hang out at Best Buy next Sunday morning and you'll get one.

And if you see extra controllers for sale buy them, you don't want to be without once you get one.

GoDeep: Where are you getting those? Sheesh, I only want one....

I preordered one Wii and PS3. Then I went by Best Buy about 30 or 45 mins before it opened today and got in line.

I don't think getting a Wii will be very tough for much longer, they are shipping lots of them in fairly quickly. PS3 is another story.

There are no good PS3 games right now anyways, so who really cares. It's all about Zelda.

Ya second that, it's harder to get a damn controller than a Wii. I got my hands on a normal remote, but I can't get a nunchuck to go with it.

2006-11-26 04:15:10 PM
Mr. Fuzzypaws / DDO:

I went to check out a cheap laptop at 3am Friday at the Best Buy. There were 18 laptops and about 3,000 people in line.

Thanks for the advice; I think I'll try stopping by early one or two days this week, as you guys did.

Enjoy!

Oh, I camped out for launch, 14 hours in sub-30 weather, 2nd in line. Totally worth it (I have extra controllers :P ).

"Are you getting ready to work out?"

"Actually, I'm about to play video games."

I waited in line for about 1 1/2 hours this morning and got one. Only a few hours into Zelda now. The tennis game was pretty fun; boxing felt like having an epilectic seizure (no offense to those with epilepsy).

Off to entertain the kids some more with horrible attempts at fishing.
