Castle-Hughes, who said she was "thrilled" to be pregnant"

Of course you're thrilled to be pregnant. You're 16 and not old enough to know better. Enjoy col... oh, wait, will you be going there? Probably not, you've got a kid to take care of.

Note: Yeah, I know, she's an actress with blah blah blah and the normal rules don't really apply. She's still an idiot who got herself knockered up when she was 16.

That's our Keisha, the little rascal!

The way western culture demonizes pregnant women is just really, really sad. It's not like this woman is on welfare.

16? That's a late starter for the underclass in England. Her folks will just be thankfull that she isn't gay.

I wonder what position Mary was in when she had her godcave stretched out by some Jewish peener.

2006-11-24 12:37:25 AM
Ah, but will the fundies care enough not to go see the movie, because of this heathen?

Funny, here I am, a liberal, defending the right of women to be pregnant with dignity in the teen years. She can afford it, it's her body, and there's nothing wrong with it.

Get off her back.

wait, it's the little girl from Whale Rider?

pwph_67 Haha, I re-watched the video of the guy celebrating after being told he wasn't the father like 3 hours ago.

palad: She can afford it, it's her body, and there's nothing wrong with it.

To be fair, I was more attacking Fundies than her.

If she wants to have a kid, and can pull it off without wrecking her life, more power to her.

Personally, I remember what it was like to be 16, and there's just no way in hell I could've been a responsible father back then.

2006-11-24 12:41:16 AM
Mary was immaculately knocked up. This 16 yr old is just a whore. There is a difference.

"Get off her back."

If we were on her back, she wouldn't be pregnant.
Maybe she should get off her back once in a while.

"wait, it's the little girl from Whale Rider?"

Seeing how she's pregnant, it's more like the Baloney Pony Rider.

2006-11-24 12:42:44 AM
Yes, the girl from Whale Rider.
I'm wishing her all the best with the kiddo.
/she'll wonder what she used to do with all the spare time and money.

Ummmm... is it just me, or have I really noticed nobody attacking her? Because without a post indicating that teenage motherhood is a bad thing, this really seems like a non-sequitur. Or I just woke up from a five-hour nap.

Keisha Castle-Hughes

Little girl my ass, I think that there needs to be mandatory dress codes for those underage. Make these little girls look like little girls. You are to wear poodle skirts and play with dollies, not whorish makeup and miniskirts.

/mmmmm 16's legal somewhere right??

What are the laws for Statutory Rape there? The father of her child/boyfriend is 19. Is that illegal?

2006-11-24 12:55:12 AM
I got pregnant when I was 16...found out when I miscarried. I still don't knwo what I would have done if that hadn't happened.

Good luck to Ms. Castle-Hughes, I hope things turn out well for her.

And to TownDrunk: would you still be saying she was a whore if she had premarital sex but hadn't gotten pregnant? It's not like pregnant women necessarily fark more.

2006-11-24 12:55:18 AM
So, a pregnent un-wed girl is going to play the part of a pregnent un-wed girl. Once again life and art get to imitate each other.

/what is myrrh anyway?

I'm sure her kid won't be farked up or anything.

Nah. I just checked. Age of consent in NZ, is 16.

Whale Rider? She took it quite literally when she rode Moby Dick.

\ If only she was going out with that bald-headed musician. The joke potential would be massive.

Being in my 20's and pregnant now, I couldn't imagine going through this unwed and 16. It's a lot more hard than you can even imagine. Personally, I'd hope she'd at least consider adoption-- at 16, no one has the mental capacity to support a child.

Haha thanks for checking. They are lucky that they made it just past that age mark.

I couldn't imagine being pregnant at 16, either. Probably has something to do w/having a penis.

If she actually can afford it, then I agree, there's nothing wrong with it. However, the vast majority of teenagers who get pregnant aren't anywhere close to being financially or emotionally stable enough to provide for a child, especially since the vast majority of fathers around that age shirk their responsibilities.

I'm not saying having a child while still a child yourself is inherently a bad thing, since there are exceptions to every rule. But in the most cases, it's a very bad idea.

Oh, yeah I do. Nevermind.

Well , upon her was the plan but obviously it didn't work out that way or she wouldn't be pregnant.
