(the Ha Ha Guy)   If the guy behind you in line at the gas station you're about to rob is wearing a "Shreveport Police Dept" shirt... well, he's probably a cop   (ktbs.com) divider line 31

Remember that scene in Robocop 3 when the guy holds up a donut shop not realizing it's full of cops? They all point their guns at him and the counter guy leans over and asks "What's it like being a rocket scientist?"

Booked on charges of armed robbery was Derek Pierson Jr. 21, of Stockton, Calif.

That explains everything.

Yeah, but whose heart does "Shreveport Police Dept" really strike fear into?

C'mon.

paroparo123: Nobody said criminals were smart...

The smart criminals are the ones you never ever hear about.

The slightly less smart criminals are the ones that try to convince you that their crimes are in the public interest and you should support them.

Like all those people wearing NYPD shirts?

2006-11-21 05:19:32 PM
Police said Pierson told them he was passing through town and needed money to get home. He could be looking at up to 104 years in a Louisiana prison.

Looks like he won't need to worry about getting home after all...

The only thing I find funny about this is the asinine 104 years in jail for an attempted robbery of a gas station

As somebody who used to live near Shreveport, I can attest that most of the people living there are quite dim. It might be something in the water.

I sincerely think that some people turn to crime not out of need or even greed. They are simply too dumb for society. Not mentally retarded (probably), just so emotionally underdeveloped that they really can't see why they shouldn't be allowed to just go take stuff.

I love broad generalizations based on geography.

Hey Cankersnore, you're in San Diego?
Aren't most of the people there poor illegal immigrants?
Aren't the rest pretentious yuppies who pay millions for over-valued houses?

That would be me. That sounds like the kind of place the cops could "disappear" you without anyone batting an eye....

The Shreveport police aren't too bad.
But if you go across the river to Bossier City, those guys will fark you up.
Less crime in Bossier...

Living in San Diego the past year plus (moved from Dallas), I can say that your generalization is pretty much spot on. Except the millions. Most of 'em are about 600k. The illegals buy the 300k houses which are pretty much shacks.

104 Years?!
What else did he do, rape the clerk's puppy and squirt on the cop?
