I know it's easy to bust on DiCaprio... but he was farking AWESOME in Gilbert Grape.

2006-11-19 07:34:08 PM
Given the number of foster kids and orphans here in the US it sure would be great if people would look there to help first.

2006-11-19 08:16:03 PM
Good for him...now if we can just get him to quit acting.

2006-11-19 08:47:31 PM
Bravo Leo. If he were less attractive he'd have won an Oscar by now.

Why?

2006-11-19 10:38:52 PM
Of course he's not ready to be a father.
That would require him to have sex with a woman.

2006-11-19 10:48:25 PM
zing!

2006-11-19 10:49:33 PM
am I missing something here?

Maybe more stars should actually fund initiatives that help many children, instead of selfishly buying themselves a child who they'll treat as nothing more than an exotic pet.

2006-11-19 10:49:55 PM
Of course. Because the problem with Africa is the lack of funding for orphanages, not the utter lack of rule of law.

If Leonardo's not ready to be a father, he's probably not keen on setting up a government somewhere in Africa.

"DiCaprio currently has no plans to have children of his own, adding, "I'm not married right now."

Well, there's always hope. I mean, the Democrats are pushing the same sex marriage law, right?

Seconded. So sad though.

Lots of people donate to orphanages, and they're not millionaire movie stars. What makes his money so much better than anyone else's?

2006-11-19 10:56:31 PM
What the hell people? Just because he looks like short haired woman doesn't mean that he's gay.

2006-11-19 10:56:45 PM
Well, for starters, there's more of it.

How sweet. Now if you were only so good as to have REMEMBERED TO WEAR A CONDOM WHEN SCREWING MY MOM ON THE SET OF 'THIS BOY'S LIFE'.

Thanks for calling on my birthday. NOT.

One good-looking man with money can stop hundreds of juntas from waging violent power-struggles. You're absolutely right.

czarangelus: Maybe more stars should actually fund initiatives that help many children, instead of selfishly buying themselves a child who they'll treat as nothing more than an exotic pet.

Agreed. On top of it all, I'd bet that most of those exotic pets are handled day-to-day by expensive nannies, with maybe an hour or two each day spent bonding with their celebrity "parents".

I might suggest that the nannies love the kids, but then I remember that they're from LA. The nannies probably love the shoes and handbags they can buy from watching Brangelina's life blossoms.

...what was this thread about?

Dude still looks 16. I can't believe he did a friggin' Scorsese film. Maybe as a gay prostitute character or something, but in the action roll? C'mon.

I second the "why?"

You know, for being 32, he is still a pretty good looking man.

/am I allowed to say that?
//not like I would do him or anything.
///I'm going to go watch sports and drink beer after I beat up a hooker to get my money back.

Yes, because you have the inside scoop on the parenting habits of celebrities.

32 is old to you?

/Fark is getting too damn young.

I enjoyed "Catch Me If You Can." Before seeing that, I wasn't so hot on his acting.

Did anybody see Gangs of New York? Cause I didn't.

2006-11-19 11:17:33 PM
He is a good actor, he just got over exposed and then there was the inevitable backlash.

Nice to see he can do something selfless with his money. Although, his publicist was the one probably broke the story to the press.

2006-11-19 11:18:05 PM
Choice and Consequence: He has done three Scorsese films that I know of.

2006-11-19 11:19:22 PM
Catch Me If You Can and Gangs of New York. 'Nuff said.

Hell yes. Best movie I've seen this year.

Maybe we should chop him up and feed him to the poor.

2006-11-19 11:23:52 PM
Gangs of New York was pretty good. And if you don't like him, you can watch it to see him get his arse kicked.

I'm just saying he has always been one of those guys who look alot younger than they actually are. I'm 24 myself but everyone I meet thinks I look like I'm under 18.

He better win the Oscar for The Departed. He as phenomenal.

I liked The Beach. He didn't suck in it, I thought.

He was in that? I only have a hazy memory of French boobs and fields of pot.

I think most people talk shiat about DiCaprio because it's easy to do so.

Finding a legitimate reason, however, is much harder.

While I might scoff at some of his charitable contributions (Greenpeace, for example), you do have to give this guy credit for actually sticking to his guns and remaining grounded rather than turning into another self-absorbed lets-spend-lots-of-money-on-stupid-shiat celeb. If you've watched a number of his movies, even Titanic and even as dumb as you can say it is, he IS a good actor.

I actually quite liked him in The Beach, Catch me if you Can , Basketball Diaries and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I even remember his turn as an alcoholic runaway in Growing Pains. Haven't seen The Departed yet.

2006-11-19 11:56:04 PM
Dicaprio has always been well above average as an actor. The folks that have a problem with him are probably sheep that like to go with the "cool" bashing as directed by "cool" people and their "cool" grip on the "cool" energy of society.

Keanu Reeves sucks.

2006-11-19 11:57:36 PM
Gilbert Grape, Catch me if you can, Gangs of New York, and The Departed were all amazing movies.

He will win an oscar in the next few years if he keeps putting out quality films like these.

2006-11-19 11:59:27 PM
Keanu Reeves sucks.

He's been in some good movies, but yeah, he's a terrible actor.

All you guys busting Leo's sexuality, the guy is with GISELLE right now. As in the sexiest victoria secret model giselle.

Gay or not, he's with giselle.

like it's already been said, I wasn't a big dicaprio fan until I saw the departed, but he did a farking AWESOME job in that movie.
