2006-11-08 10:55:31 AM
need more strippers at polls.
2006-11-08 10:55:41 AM
Let's see if all the Republicans change their position on the validity of a recount.
2006-11-08 10:55:45 AM
The last ditch efforts by Rove to secure victory failed. I'm satisfied.
2006-11-08 10:55:45 AM
Will our boys be home from Iraq in time for Christmas?
2006-11-08 10:55:48 AM
Craziness all around it seems.
2006-11-08 10:55:49 AM
Boo. Yah.

2006-11-08 10:56:20 AM
It was hard for me to GET to vote, but I am mostly happy for the win.

/Still can't believe the issue 4/5 crap in Ohio. That suprised me. In a not so good way
2006-11-08 10:56:26 AM
It'll be a couple months before Virginia can be finished. Allan wasn't content with just intimidating voters, he's gotta refuse to give up too.
2006-11-08 10:56:26 AM
you're a filthy, filthy girl, election.

And I totally dig that.

/I'll call you in two years
2006-11-08 10:56:29 AM
Time for a long hot shower.
Then order a pizza.
2006-11-08 10:56:33 AM
suck it, cons!
2006-11-08 10:56:33 AM
Surely the dems can't screw this one up, CAN THEY?
2006-11-08 10:56:54 AM
Happy for the House win.
Would like the Senate, but not necessary.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco)... I like the way that looks.
2006-11-08 10:56:56 AM
Very pleased overall, but yeah...I want to see the final call for the Senate.

I'm thrilled Missouri passed the stem cell ballot measure, too.
2006-11-08 10:56:59 AM
needs more poll smoking!
2006-11-08 10:57:13 AM

hold on. i didn't know this was the Harvard Debate Club! i'm not prepared
2006-11-08 10:57:16 AM
fags are EVAL!
2006-11-08 10:57:21 AM
Change of power=good.
2006-11-08 10:57:25 AM
The republicans hate Gore so much, but I have a feeling they'll be pulling something from his playbook soon enough...
2006-11-08 10:57:26 AM
So the democrats got the house. Can anybody points this Canadian to an explanation of what that will change concretely? Thanks.

2006-11-08 10:57:37 AM
Like I said last night...

I'm just glad there will be some change. A lot of Americans have been waiting for any kind of change. I don't expect miracle fixes, but at least we can stop going down hill.
2006-11-08 10:57:44 AM
Joliet_Jake: Let's see if all the Republicans and Democrats change their position on the validity of a recount.

/none of the above
2006-11-08 10:57:50 AM
Right-wing radio commentator was going on comparing how awesome "conservatives" are and how horrible "leftists" are... blaming the MSM, George Soros, big corporations (huh?), etc... very obnoxious. Very democrat-like.
2006-11-08 10:57:52 AM
Yes, the deck chairs look much better arranged like this. Now, why are my shoes wet?
2006-11-08 10:57:55 AM

Not quite yet. Down boy, down.
2006-11-08 10:58:09 AM
I imagine the Dems are still sporting post election erections. (Teeheeheehee, I said `post')
2006-11-08 10:58:14 AM

1) I love your politics. Waaaaaay more interesting than ours. :D
You want em? Keep em? The deceit sickens me.

2) What's the difference between the House and Senate? I've found some really complicated explanations, but can someone sum it up for me?

Sure. One of the biggest issues at the inseption of the states was states rights. A lot of states felt that their people would have their rights trampled by more populus states. The house is a direct representation of actual population, the senate is made up of two members from each state. It's suppose to function as a check that keeps all states equal regardless of population.

3) One thing I've noticed is that some of you guys fling the word "liberal" around like a curse word. Up here it just means a reasonably open-minded person, so it's a little odd to see you guys use it like you do.

Loose definitions suck.
2006-11-08 10:58:18 AM
Britney sex tape? Democrats into power? What a long, strange dream...
2006-11-08 10:58:19 AM
I for one am happy to see gridlock alive and well again. The less that these asshats (politicians) can do, the better off we are.

/would prefer a 3rd party
2006-11-08 10:58:19 AM
Now that the new dumbasses have wrested power from the the previous dumbasses, I can't help but be enthusiastic that the next couple of years are going to be great for dumbasses.

Unless you're a middle-class dumbass. Luckily, you're too big of a dumbass to know that you're being tag-teamed.
2006-11-08 10:58:24 AM
No, I still can't buy beer at the grocery store. What kind of crap is that?
2006-11-08 10:58:30 AM

/that is all
2006-11-08 10:58:31 AM
If you read, it certainly looks like there's a good chance the Dems'll take the Senate, but shiat, after 2004 I'm not holding my breath.
2006-11-08 10:58:39 AM
In other news, this thread will be inappropriately revealing regarding the after-sex habits of Farkers.

Three words: Suck it, repugs!
2006-11-08 10:58:59 AM
mrpotato: So the democrats got the house. Can anybody points this Canadian to an explanation of what that will change concretely? Thanks.

Not a damn thing, honestly. Sad, isn't it?
2006-11-08 10:59:00 AM
Can anybody points this Canadian to an explanation of what that will change concretely?

When something bad happens, it will be the Democrats' fault.

Other than that, same shiat, different party.
2006-11-08 10:59:01 AM
Well, I'm not as happy as I could be, but I'm much happier than I thought I'd be, and I might be even happier later today.

Kinky lost, but made a damned good showing. The Democrats have the House, and very possibly the Senate. When I went to vote yesterday, and saw that the sky was bright blue instead of rainy and gray, I kind of thought it would be a good day.

2006-11-08 10:59:02 AM
Mixed bag overall. MN-1 went to the DFL, yet MN-6 and the Governorship went to the GOP. The US Senate seat stayed in Democratic hands.

I am a bit disappointed across the border with WI's referendums (both passed, no to gay marriage and yes to the death penalty).
2006-11-08 10:59:24 AM
After 2004, I had lost faith in the country, but it looks like people might be starting to wake up. It's time to shake congress until they wake their greedy campaigning asses up and actually do something for the nation.

Don't fark this up like the right wing did, lefties. We'll vote your asses back out.
2006-11-08 10:59:33 AM
Oh my god! My hooker's dead! I should've voted the other way!

/there's still blow, tho
2006-11-08 10:59:34 AM

And condolences.

2006-11-08 10:59:37 AM
What's that cooking?
*sniff* *sniff*

Smells like a mandate pie!
2006-11-08 10:59:38 AM
Can anybody points this Canadian to an explanation of what that will change concretely?

legislative gridlock, which will be a good thing, but surely no change to how money and pork is divided up in the budget, which is a bad thing. that will never change
2006-11-08 10:59:50 AM
Tester's still up by over 1,700 In Montana
Webb's now over 8,000 in Virginia

Both at 99% reporting.
