I can't fathom why a cop would be unloading a gun while he's driving, but I can't say I haven't done it myself out of boredom. On the other hand I never shot myself doing it so yay me.

Glass Parking Lot:

Too much to explain, so I'll sum up.
There was this great Police brutality thread last week where this buffoon (Irish31) who was apparantly in training talking about how when he is on the streets he is in complete control & citizen's must obey him (think Tackleberry from police acadamy). Well, one thing led to another & he was threataning other people on the thread and as this progressed even further the farkers on the thread found out who he was (I still don't know how) & showed him his own web-site with pics & all. Furthermore one of the Farkers called the canadian authorityies (I don't remember the province) and reported him. That was the last we heard of Irish 31.

Why the hell would he unload his gun? An unloaded gun isn't very useful unless you need a really awkward hammer, and I can't see where one would need an awkward hammer while driving a vehicle.

Not a gun expert...but aren't there better ways of unloading a gun than from the hole in the front?

Shot in the right leg while unloading his gun.

Don't you usually hold the gun the other way around when unloading it, to let gravity pull the shells out?

I guess if you unload by pulling the trigger, you don't need to worry about gravity.

JDAT: the thread found out who he was (I still don't know how)
gotta love technology. But hopefully he gets just what he deserves..Unless he's a mountie..Then he gets a stern private lecture to not be so stupid to get caught again...Many murders in the last two years in canaduh by the cops..Even hard evidence to show the cops guilty..But the system is setup to keep the cops away from the court system with "complaint commisions"..And the assaults with tasers. Training supplied by Texas state troopers.

I only eat my lunch and two handed blow my nose when cruising down the freeway. Use tissue too. Nose tissue that is. Never tried to pizz in a bottle while driving.

JDAT, Irish was just an idiot and emberassment to the law enforcement community, so I hope you don't think all cops are like that.

This cop, needs to retake all his firearms training, or be removed from duty.

And scotttothety, one less cop is never okay. One less criminal and danger to society is. If a cop is a danger to society (which this one might have been), then I can understand. But a general statement like "one less cop is ok with me," you are just showing you are an idiot. Chances are if you want one less cop you probably did something wrong somewhere along the line.

Some years ago, a fellow around here showed his wife how to unload his automatic pistol. He worked the slide, removed the clip, and put it to his head and pulled the trigger. A real pro would have removed the clip first and then worked the slide. It's also safer not to point a gun to your head in any circumstances.

RE: Irish31

For the record: Irish31 is not a police officer. He is an idiot. Here's the story:

On a Fark.com thread last week regarding a police officer accused of brutality, he impersonated a police officer and defended the officer in the article. Things got worse from there and he went on to say that he'd pull his gun on a few of the other Fark users and make them piss their pants. Then he threatened anyone who tried to get him fired by saying that his buddies would come and "smash your face in" and that he and his buddies were above the law. Then he taunted everyone to try and find him.

A few Fark users took him up on this offer. Between his Fark profile and the fact that he uses his Fark handle just about everywhere else on the Interweb, users found his blog, his Myspace page, a bunch of pictures of him, a bunch of messages accusing him of defrauding other users on a Magic card game site and a few other tidbits.

Turns out he's not a cop. He went through for the training but couldn't cut it - bad knees or something. He had worked in telemarketing in the past years and now works for a company in Waterloo, ON.

All of his personal information was posted online and hopefully he feels like a complete idiot now.

Original thread: (No HTML goodness. Worth the read though!)

I hope there's a followup thread on him. It was way too funny. And I was there the whole way!
