The substory of the guy who was first arrested and spent 16 years in jail for that crime is pretty sad.

From the sidebar news:

Monty Python star Terry Jones has toasted his 'miracle recovery' from cancer. The actor and director is being nursed back to health by his 23-year-old Swedish girlfriend after an operation to remove a growth from his bowel.

23-year-old Swedish girlfriend? Should give him something to live for.

farkin' A, Terry Jones: http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2005/01/terryjonesNOBLE240105_300x450.jpg

For years, the couple boasted of an 'open marriage', allowing each other the freedom to indulge in flings while maintaining their partnership.

But this dalliance with a girl nearly a decade younger than his own daughter has proved too much for Miss Telfer.

"Wow. Er, you win, I quit."

He had two more sons by his first wife, Nicholas, now 27, and Daniel, 22, but the couple split up in the mid-1990s and Mr Castree remarried, to divorcee Karen Curtin.

She has five children by two previous relationships and the youngest, aged seven, nine and 11, are believed to have lived with her and Mr Castree.

Bloody Hell! I'd like to smack that Brit reporter upside the head.

Those fuggers in the Brit media have no mercy. Why list the names, ages and details of the suspects innocent children?

And the 1 thing I wanted to know was how old this Comic book guy is today and how old was he when he commited the murder and that was ommited. He doesn't look that old in this photo.

British media royally sucks!

Killing a little girl, then letting someone else sit in jail for 16 years. Just remember to kick out his teeth first so he can't bite down on anything.

Ya, I wonder how old the murderer was too.

This is FARK, and people are "just kidding" when they troll, and say outragous things just to shock. We all know that.

But still, you cant help but feel sad for someone who makes fun of a murdered child.

It's just a smiling kid. I guess I dont look for attractivness in kids like some people do.

From TFA: Tax clerk Stefan Kiszko served 16 years for her murder before forensic evidence proved he was innocent. He died a broken man in 1993, a year after his release.

I feel sad for this man wrongly imprisoned for the death of that ugly little girl.

No, because that would lead to his posthumous idolization. We need to keep him alive.

2006-11-06 08:37:25 PM
rbuzby Yes, I agree. The old FARK cliche' "Gallows Humor" should not apply to the murder of children.

That kind of bad kharma is not worth some smart ass joke in a forum.

But what kind of morals does the Brit press have? Why on Earth would they needlesly destroy the reputations of the suspects innocent adult children? Sins of the father. That is a henious publishing practice! That sort of thing is the last bit of integrity the US media still respects.

He later claimed the confession had been bullied out of him, but in 1976 he was convicted of her murder and jailed for life.

Unless I am having my privates zapped by 120V and my fingernails are being pulled out, I am not going to confess to any crime. Why do people do this? Do they not think ahead at all?

that was my first thought after I RTFA. second thought was "that's no little girl, that's Alfalfa!"

From TFA: Mr Kiszko, a loner with no social life...

Way to stay objective there, Daily Mail. Play into stereotypes much?

Sleep deprivation and police interrigation tactics can break alot of people.

Terrorists and professional on the other hand are trained to resist such tactics.

Years later, three teenage girls who claimed he had exposed himself to them admitted making up their story.

The dude wrongfully convicted for the crime.

Police interrogations are all about one thing: getting the suspect to confess. Interrogations are considered by many who go through them to be horrible experiences, and since police can no longer beat suspects legally (yes, there was a time when that was legal), psychological attacks are the name of the game. Most confessions aren't false, but some are. Suspects can be lied to (at least in the US) into thinking the police have incontrovertible evidence, or that their buddies have fingered them. And they can be given false promises of leniency. Then you get a prisoner's dillema, and all it takes is one scared person to lose.

What makes it worse is confessions tend to be the most useful piece of evidence in a courtroom. Even coerced confessions. You'd hope that people would recognize coerced confessions and perhaps deliver not guilty verdicts in protest, but conviction rates in studies are only slightly lower when the confessions are coerced. Why? Because of people like you really, who just can't understand why anyone would give a false confession.

Sources: Don't remember offhand, but one was called Psychology and Law, and the other was written by someone named Costanzo. Eh, I had to take a class to fill one of those checklists...

I think a couple of hours of waterboarding and you would confess to anything.

We will find out for sure early next year when all of the prisoners at Gitmo guilty confessions are read at their 'trials' & executions.

I am not saying that I wouldn't break under physical duress, only that I don't get how the police get people to confess to things they didn't do just by verbally badgering them. I can and have been talked into doing dumb things but not confessing to murder. If they kept at me, I'd probably just end up punching a cop in the mouth. Better to go to jail for that than murder.

Worst. Comment. Ever. You suck at the internet.

Like someone said before, gallows humour should not be at the expense of kids, especially ones as young as her.

And I've been told I'm going to hell for my jokes several times over. That tells you something, I'm sure.
