I did! I did see a sappy tag!

2002-07-17 03:08:35 PM
I'm amazed that this doesn't have the "IRONIC" tag..

Damn Slayer. What can I do to make it to your profile?

Yes, I'm a person that makes a pet part of the family, so I know what you mean.

Wussy.

SLAYER - nice story. We had a family cairn terrier for 13 years. Acted like an old fart and generally made us laugh a lot. The only time I ever saw my Dad cry was when he took the dog him to the vet to put him to sleep after a stroke. I have another cairn now, and my kids love him to death.

"Possum apparently killed the rabbit's mother"

Isn't that cute, awwww.... (I love kitties, just thought it was ironic).

2002-07-17 03:11:40 PM
We had a dog a while back... so ugly that it was cute, and probably the sweetest (and dumbest) dog that's ever existed. A stray cat had had a litter nearby, and a dog came around and killed all but one kitten. The mother cat freaked out and disappeared. Our dog actually tried nursing this kitten back. Things went well for a few days but the poor kitty just didn't make it.
By the way, if you ever have to choose between bottle raising a puppy, or bottle raising a kitten, take the kitten. A puppy is almost as bad as a real baby. A kitten figures out after a couple of weeks what that shoebox of cat litter is for.

It's the end times!

Dogs and Cats living together! Mass hysteria!

Alright. That is freaking cute.

And sappy.

Well, I'm aroused...

Did anyone notice the part about the cat eating the bunny's mother? Looks like she's letting the baby bunny feed to fatten up for a similar fate.

2002-07-17 03:12:48 PM
With all of the bad news these days, it's refreshing to see something benign, yet sappy.

Slayerswine - In the infamous words of Slick Willy, "I feel your pain". Some day, I will have to deal with that, and just thinking about it is heartbreaking.

Thrag:
No... because it wasn't in there.
It said "killed" the bunny's mother.
killed != ate.
In most cases...

We've seen all this before when that lioness adopted the carabou somewhere in africa* and the carabou was promptly eaten by another lion.

the lion who had adopted the carabou turned nuts and went looking for another one to adopt...and everything went sour from there on in.

what i'm trying to say folks is this will ALL end in tears!

*facts may be all wrong and mishmashed due to years of hash smoking

2002-07-17 03:16:02 PM
Hey, maybe we could use this punishment for people, too!

Kill someone = raise their kids!

2002-07-17 03:16:44 PM
What's more ironic is that if the cat ate the mother, the little bunny is litteraly drinking his mother.
Awwwwwwww how cute...

2002-07-17 03:17:10 PM
That cat is gonna need some guilt therapy.

2002-07-17 03:17:37 PM
"When I had to put him to sleep it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do."

Been there, done that and yes, it really, really sucks. *snif*

SLAYERSWINE: I read that and it actually tugged at my heartstrings...it's like, well, you actually have a heart. *sniff* But then I realize you just talk that way to bag chicks.

2002-07-17 04:02:47 PM
Awhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

2002-07-17 04:04:04 PM
Cormee,
Except for the fact that carabou are moose that live in Canada, you did a pretty good job remembering though the hash.

Sihaya:

Here is bullet for your husband. No, trust me, he would want you to put him out of his misery. God, I feel sorry for that poor dumb sumnabiatch!

Predator and prey get along, yeah, sure...
But Predator and Aliens? Never.

2002-07-17 04:24:48 PM
I dunno, maybe it's just because I know cats to be evil, soulless freeloaders, But...

I see a certain 'nice snack for later' look in that Mama Cat's eyes.

Starfailure:
Thanks for the correction, I guess I'll have to mark posts "not for the anal retentive or otherwise humor impaired" in the future.

Anyway, when a predator kills prey, why do they do it? Um, I know, to eat it (hence the word "prey"). Granted, sometimes house cats do forget about the eating part.

2002-07-17 04:30:54 PM
Krugar: that is one sick, funny, but sick thought.

2002-07-17 04:31:29 PM
Slayer:
Yeah, my family had a similiar situation (sorta)
We had a little ugly dog that decided to become mother to our 3 kittens. They would try to nurse on her and after the kitties grew up they stayed close. Was a trip to watch them spend hours licking each other clean and falling asleep together. And god help anyone who threatened her 'kids'.
Suddenly the little runt became an ankle sized bag of kickass.
*sniff* damn I miss that dog.

2002-07-17 04:35:18 PM
So yeah, I misread the caption and thought that a "'possum" had actually killed the bunny's mom and it had been adopted by the altruistic cat for nothing in return. Thinking my sister, an avid rabbit owner (and who has BSB posters all over her room where ceramic bunnies will not fit..::shudder::) would enjoy the story, I brought her in to see. She promptly read the headline and slapped me on the back of the head and yelled at me for the making her read that the cat had killed the "poor defenseless" bunny....iwanttoescape...

2002-07-17 04:38:34 PM
All right civilized behaviour, I knew there had to be some somewhere.

2002-07-17 04:56:35 PM
One day little bunny is going to introduce Possum to his cousin.

2002-07-17 05:00:56 PM
Crap that didn't work. Let try again.
One day....

2002-07-17 05:18:27 PM
Thlayli!

2002-07-17 05:22:30 PM
Sappy, but damn, I needed something to cheer me up after reading about that sick freak who bbq'd the kitten earlier today.

2002-07-17 05:48:29 PM
*Snif* Not as good as a good doggy story, but still a good story...*snifsnifsnifsnif*

2002-07-17 06:37:25 PM
Why is this a "killer cat?" It seems to be a strange headline. Is that just because cats kill rabbits from time to time?

</obtuse?>
