Pats suck.
Colts suck.
Tom Brady is an embarrassment to gay people everywhere.
Peyton Manning is an embarrassment to horses everywhere.

/obligatory?

2006-11-05 05:31:03 PM
I don't care who wins or who loses. I just want Manning to throw for 400 yards and 7 touchdowns so I can get a win in my fantasy league.

I want to say that neither the Redskins or the Cowboys deserved that win today, but the Redskins had that win handed to them with that bogus 15 yd face mask call. That was a 5yd call at best.

Oh well, Both teams aren't making the playoffs this year.

7of7: /obligatory?

For you? Yeah.

2006-11-05 05:32:32 PM
The Colts are going to be 8-0 in a few more hours, I can't wait

After all the non-calls against the Cowboys all day, I really have a hard time caring about the five-versus-fifteen-yard determination.

Call me in 3 hours when the game actually starts...

2006-11-05 05:39:00 PM
That was the best hurry-up field goal I have ever seen.

2006-11-05 05:47:20 PM
Yes it was.

tarrant84: Call me in 3 hours when the game actually starts...

We need to set up a Brady/Manning drinking game for tonight.

I have 2 to start...

Manning raises arms above head in disgust: drink
Brady compared to Montana: 2 drinks

2006-11-05 05:49:44 PM
Woodrow Wilson: We need to set up a Brady/Manning drinking game for tonight.

Manning resembles Frankenstein in the pocket: finish your drink

You'll be blacked out by their second possession.

fark that! My opponent this week has Manning and Harrison left. I'm up by 18.

I hope the entire game is composed of field goals and defensive scores. Maybe running scores, if either team has a running game.

2006-11-05 05:56:14 PM
So when do you think the news will break in with the October Surprise?

I should start a VE thread on when/what will happen.

/last chance, neocons

John Madden's head asplodes trying to simultaneously fellate Brady and Manning: Vomit your drink up

2006-11-05 06:01:04 PM
Can we turn this into a Broncos v Steelers thread? So far Javon Walker has pretty much all the Broncos' yards and the defense is being mutilated by the much maligned Steelers. Looks like another barn burner for the Broncos. This is why I hate all NFL teams who don't suck.

7of7: Can we turn this into a Broncos v Steelers thread?

Nope! Get your own thread. :)

/Go Pats!
//Concerns: Manning, Manning, and Manning
///Bennies: Brady, Maroney, Colvin, Gillette, Bruschi, Brown, Dillon, Gostkowski, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

Every time Madden ignores both quarterbacks and sucks up to Favre = 1 drink.

2006-11-05 06:12:10 PM
We're still drinking on "This is Our Country" ads, right?

/MELLENCAMP!
//Guinness +1

No drinking on Manning/Frankenstein, I wanna be able to get to the second quarter fully alert.

2006-11-05 06:18:41 PM
Well then you might only want to drink one for a Mellencamp.

2006-11-05 06:19:10 PM
robsul82: No drinking on Manning/Frankenstein, I wanna be able to get to the second quarter fully alert.

Then you shouldn't drink for the "Our Country" ads, either. You'll be praying to the porcelain gods by 2nd quarter.

Flashaback of Vin in a Pats jersey: 1 drink

2006-11-05 06:19:34 PM
I will, however, propose drinking whenever we catch a glimpse of the Peyton Manning Face.

/Mellencamp is one, yeah

2006-11-05 06:20:43 PM
robsul82: Mellencamp is one

Nah. I propose stabbing yourself repeatedly in the eye whenever that commercial comes on. It hurts less.

2006-11-05 06:20:47 PM
My thought on the "This is Our Country" ads is this, basically - if you drank on every Mellencamp ad during the LCS baseball playoffs, you had alcohol poisoning by the 7th inning stretch. But in the World Series, not so much. So we'll see how it goes.

2006-11-05 06:21:37 PM
Woodrow, on the Vinatieri rule -

"Oooh, that's so good it should've been mine."

I'll trade you that call for the ignored holding on the Cowboys first TD or the ignored tripping call on Randle El. Instead of the refs, you should be blaming TO for thinking of his next td celebration instead of catching.

2006-11-05 06:25:48 PM
never odd or even: I'll trade you that call for the ignored holding on the Cowboys first TD or the ignored tripping call on Randle El. Instead of the refs, you should be blaming TO for thinking of his next td celebration instead of catching.

Werd. For all he's done, I think the Cowboys could cut T0 tomorrow and probably end up with about the same record anyway.

Two drinks for every mention of edgerrin james

DreamBrother: Laurence Maroney is a monster.

Final score:
Maroney 72, Colts + Mini-Ditkas 3

Okay this has annoyed me beyond anything else this week. Mareony could be a monster. He has played only one game this whole season that could qualify him as a monster. That was like 5 weeks ago against Cincinnati. Let's get off his nuts until he actually does something.

2006-11-05 06:37:49 PM
Anybody noticed that Mellencamp is the Zoolander of pop music? Every song is the same, just with a different name. Is everyone taking crazy pills?

Drinking game... one drink every time the championships versus stats argument is brought up.

2006-11-05 06:43:07 PM
baorao: areony could be a monster. He has played only one game this whole season that could qualify him as a monster.

Exactly. Maroney's stats here. Not exactly "monster" (pops)

I'm not saying he isn't good. He might be in the future, but he hasn't shown a whole lot yet.

2006-11-05 06:43:26 PM
The NaSkAr: I'm just going to sit back and let you entertain me during this game

Look, for the last time, I will not have sex with you.

As I hate the Colts and Pats, I guess I'll just post this as my prediction:

505 combined yards in eight games out of a split backfield is pretty goddamn monstrous.

kronicfeld: Look, for the last time, I will not have sex with you.

can I cop a feel then?

The Pats will win. The Colts will be exposed tonight. Is it possible to catch the ghey tonight through the TV watching both Brady and Manning QB all game?

SuperCMC: Is it possible to catch the ghey tonight through the TV watching both Brady and Manning QB all game?

Absolutely, but as an LSU fan, I have to think you've probably built up sufficient antibodies by now.

kronicfeld: 505 combined yards in eight games out of a split backfield is pretty goddamn monstrous.

What are we considering monstrous? Is Dillon monstrous with his stats that are just about the same, 3.9 per rush to Maroney's 4.2? Is Leon Washington monstrous with the same stats and a 4.6 average? The cat is good, not monstrous.

Is it the way he hits people?

2006-11-05 07:01:20 PM
yay, the nascar race is going to cut into the crappy football night show

tdpatriots12: /with regards to Maroney, his stats lie a bit, he is a monster who is being held back a little bit

I would like nothing more than for him to be a monster. He's on my fantasy team and I have started him a few times, including this week.

kronicfeld: 505 combined yards in eight games out of a split backfield is pretty goddamn monstrous.

when you look at his game log and see that 140 of those yards game in one game, leaving 365 combined yards in 7 games, you see that he had one HUGE game and the other 7 he has averaged 52 combined yards. Not exactly monstrous.

There's more to football than raw stats; situational performance is so much more important. And Maroney tends to come up huge when his team needs him to.

NBC is still showing Hillbilly theater. Someone didn't get the memo.
