"Ummm..gee..how do I say this to you."

By putting a question mark at the end of it?

You're doing a fine job I'd say.
Good work, son.

Because my ass is hypnotic. You can't take your eyes off of it. No one can.

There is no bigger case to be made for Bush's failure than his unwillingness to fire this complete farkup.

We can't win if jackass keeps making mistakes.

We can do better than this.

You've gotta wonder what Bush is thinking by not replacing Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld is both farking up the war, and farking up the American public's perception of Bush, but apparently that's not enough to convince Bush to get rid of the guy.

only if they put it in his eye.

CHAZZZ: Denial?????????????

None whatsoever. I thought the war was a farce before we went in. The WMD excuse defied logic. I called it to my gf at the time who thought the news reports of Saddam's 'warheads' were some how a threat to us.

The public opinion of the war has always been a bit peculiar to me. Lots of fan fare when we went in over three years ago. Lots of division. Both I and coworker worked for a French company and he actually looked at a cup of Yoplait yogurt and threw it in the trash in front of me because it sounded French. I wanted to tell him he should then throw his paycheck in the trash. BTW, Yoplait is a division of General Mills, Minnesota. I walked into a pizza parlor and displayed proudly on the counter was a list of French companies who publicly defied policy in Iraq, including the one I work for. Be interesting to see if that sheet of paper is still there.

But then after that initial fan fare there was this general malaise for a year and half or so. Sure, a couple US service men were being killed a day on average but the nation didn't care. The war was still palpable. Couple supposed 'terrorist' leaders get killed. I heard about Saddam being capture while in Tokyo. A few days later some Thai security guard gave me a thumbs up about it. This is right after I
photographed 'fark Bush' graffiti on a utility box in Siam Square.

So I'm a little confused why the Iraq war is such a big issue now. People have been getting killed there for years. Lots of our soldiers and marines died on the first raid on Fallujah. But maybe I shouldn't be perplexed. What I really think the reason for the furor now is that everybody finally is tired of the bullshiat. Or the media just decided to raise a shout. But I'm still pissed that most people in this country really believed the media and the government that killing a single person or raising a city would somehow cause peace in Iraq. Or that overthrowing and occupying a country was somehow noble. There's no honor in that. Justify what we've done in Afghanistan but don't call it anything more then kicking ass after being kicked.

I think every generation, on a nation alscale, can be lied into a war. Our parents got lied into Vietnam. This generation got lied into Iraq. If we really care about our future generations let's not allow it to happen again.

From U.S. News:

He loves to cuss, gets a jolly when a mountain biker wipes out trying to keep up with him, and now we're learning that the first frat boy loves flatulence jokes. A top insider let that slip when explaining why President Bush is paranoid around women, always worried about his behavior. But he's still a funny, earthy guy who, for example, can't get enough of fart jokes. He's also known to cut a few for laughs, especially when greeting new young aides, but forget about getting people to gas about that.

CHAZZZ I plan to stay the course
You are talking about the course where we lose 100 of our soldiers a month a even more Iraqi civilians die?

Yea that is is pretty easy for you of Rumsfeld to say.

Rumsfeld devoted himself to a plan and could a shiat less.

Ateam: But he's still a funny, earthy guy who, for example, can't get enough of fart jokes.

He did give Karl Rove the nickname "Turdblossom" after all. Bush had Rove sit in a chair with an electronic fart noise box underneath it at a cabinet meeting. He had the Chief of Staff set it off as Rove stood up at the end of the meeting. Apparently they were all laughing hysterically.

2006-11-04 01:58:24 AM
Rumsfeld devoted himself to a plan and could a shiat less.
So are you saying he decided on a low-fiber diet?

2006-11-04 02:01:59 AM
CHAZZZ

Wow. That's harsh. I think Rumsfeld is a farkup, but to say he couldn't give a shiat less about our troops might be taking it to far.

2006-11-04 02:05:43 AM
beer4breakfast - don't doubt Rumsfeld should be fired. But does anybody think things in Iraq would improve one bit with whoever fills his shoes?

Yes, when an administration cocks things up so badly that the very best reason anyone can up with for not replacing them is "NOBODY can fix this shiat," you know you've got some real winners on your hands.

2006-11-04 02:06:18 AM
General: Mr. President, we are losing a lot of good men. I think we need to make a few...

Bush: Hold on. Hold on. Pull my finger

I'll wait for the Army of Darkness Times for my info.

Ateam: I think Rumsfeld is a farkup, but to say he couldn't give a shiat less about our troops might be taking it to far.

When he is concerned about money, not giving Gen. Schoomaker the money he needs to fix vehicles and pay for this war, yes, he does not give a shiat about the troops.

Ateam - Wow. That's harsh. I think Rumsfeld is a farkup, but to say he couldn't give a shiat less about our troops might be taking it to far.

Sadly, I don't... I mean I think he probably cares in that "I'm sorry you have to stand up old lady. It's a terrible shame nobody will you give you their seat... You can have mine when I get to my stop." kind of way.

2006-11-04 02:10:55 AM
There is no way that Bush will fire either Rumsfeld or Chenney. Even if he wanted to he couldn't fire one of his bosses.

Bush is definitely not Hitler.

Bush is Tojo.

2006-11-04 02:22:13 AM
"Bush is making a Hitler mistake... not listening to his veteran Generals who have proven their worth in the past."

Not really a good way to go.
"Hitler ended up in a ditch covered in petrol on fire... so, that's fun. And that's funny. Because he was a mass-murdering fark-head!"

2006-11-04 02:24:43 AM
CHAZZZ: Rumsfeld deserves the Medal of Freedom.

As much as Tenet did (CIA director on point when we were attacked by the planes, marking the singular most catastrophic failure in our intelligence apparatus in the history of the country- also told Bush Iraq WMD was a 'slam dunk')

Or Franks did (General in charge of Afghanistan and Iraq 'wars')

Or Bremer did (yeah, the guy who appointed people who had never had job one since graduating college into serious infrastructure positions in Iraq. Great jorb Paul!)

yeah. rummy deserves two medals of freedom. Oh, hell give him eight or nine!

Have you seen any evidence of this? The whole "going to war with the army you have, not the army you want" thing, his horrendous planning of the invasion, ad nauseum, .... and you still thinks this guy gives a shiat. Hell, he is making Rob McNamara look like a humanitarian. And, yes, when you are in position of his responsibility, you have to answer for your action, or lack thereof. He will go down as one of the worst military planners EVER, mark my words. If we are still around in a hundred years, he will be the Maginot line of DOD sec's.
Someone who was so arrogant, a bunch of guys making bombs from 30 year old artillery shells ground it out.

/ BTW, think the troops are doing mostly the best they can in an untenable situation.

FlippityFlap: Rob McNamara

I look forward to the day he rots in hell for all eternity. However, he did something Rumsfeld will NEVER do: admitted his mistake and apologised for it. That doesn't make those 58,000 men and women come back from the dead, but I can't imagine Rummy ever doing such a thing. He's scum.

Reminds me of the whole issue with calling chips "Freedom fries" instead of "French fries." Even though chips aren't french.

It's been a long bumpy road to this point and people are starting to realise the carsickness isn't going to go away. We have people who'd rather puke in the back seat for the rest of the ride instead of just admitting it was a bad idea to go that way. You know. Admitting they might have been wrong? Nah, never.

It's because the military is a huge part of PNAC's nefarious plans. If Rummy's out, they can't use brute force around the world very easily.

Send this thread to all the troops serving around the world along with names, adresses, and phone numbers of the people that commented on this article and see how the troops feel about this article and the comments that followed. It would be interesting to see how the troops reacted and how the people that made the comments reacted.

Is there anyone in this thread that is in uniform and can comment on what this kind of article being sent to the troops on the front lines might mean to them or do to their morale?

2006-11-04 03:12:04 AM

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but didn't Rummy already offer his resignation to Bush twice already, only to be denied by Bush?
