cheap_thoughts: So, should I sue my ex-boyfriend for the pain and suffering he's putting me through? Cause he's a controlling SOB, and I'm taking quite a number of medications and therapy, and the bastard is causing me to have panic attacks while I'm working. Y/N?

/serious

Ask your therapist about this: If you sue your ex you will simply reinforce the same "victim mentality" that has gotten you feeling so farked up in the first place. In my opinion no amount of money is worth that.

Another observation: If you and "the bastard" aren't currently in contact, then he isn't causing you to have panic attacks at work. You are.

In my (ignorant layman's) opinion you should quit using drugs to avoid going through the grieving process. Remember, THERAPISTS MAKE THEIR MONEY BY TREATING YOU, NOT BY CURING YOU. If you want to improve, you've got to let go of the past and take responsibility for your own emotions today. Quit "touching the sore to see if it still hurts" and learn to switch your mind into more constructive directions with techniques such as meditation and positive visualization.

Darn it.....well I guess I'll stick with being poor and having only my golden lab for company speaking of which I better go put her inside before some crazy guy thinks she is the devil

look, if we can't sue the police when they fark up, why should they get to sue us?

I wonder why he thought the dog was the devil, maybe he farked it and was afraid it would tell. Thats why its better to wait until its already died.

I was all set to call this cop a farking asshole... until I get to reading that the other guy also killed the cops dog. Now I think it's magnanimous of the cop to sue instead of shooting the guy himself.

Can I get a "dumbass" tag for this "cop", please?
Seriously this biatch deserves nothing more than hard slap accross the face and a lecture on how to live life.
Farking immoral, sue-happy winers.

FTFA "O'Connor was recently charged with killing his family's golden retriever, which police say he believed was the devil."

The cop's dog??? think just for one more second to see if you really understand that phrase correctly...

Kudos to the cop for not shooting. While my instinct is to call the whaaaambulance about the emotional pain he's suffering, chances are that after the incident the cop saught counseling and it wasn't covered by his insurance. As is the habit in this country, when you're insurance doesn't cover you, you have to sue somebody. Maybe he couldn't get a referal. Maybe he went to see a specialist out of network. Maybe his insurance only covers preventative and emergency care. But I wouldn't be surprised if that were the impetus for suing.

No, no, the guy who killed the dog was an ex-cop himself, so he killed an ex-cop's dog, which was his own dog.

Why the confusion?!

I tend to agree with Evilsoup on everything except for the waaambulance. Having a gun pointed at you is not fun, having a gun pointed in your face for forty-five minutes while being yelled at to shoot the person who's holding the gun in your face, lest they shoot you, will probably fark you up pretty bad.

Nobody has seemed to have brought up any cases of suicide attempters suing cops and thier departments for talking them out of it; but everyone is more than happy to jump on the 'fark the cop' bandwagon.

Rott in hell... all of you.

I'm not trying to be mean but I would let people commit suicide, if saves money and time and brain cells. I think people that what to commit suicide are weak willed, weak minded creatures that are better off dead, like they say.. only the strong survive.
