Don't they have to kill the bats to find that they are positive for rabies? Therefore, they aren't running about?

Bat Story here:
When I don't sleep, I hallucinate. This is a problem because I am an insomniac to the max and see birds and bugs when I'm hallucinating. Well, we had a bat infestation at our house that no one knew about until one night, a bat got into my room and became very disoriented. As I laid in bed, staring at this big flapping thing I could hardly see, I cried because I thought "This is it, I'm totally nuts." I don't sleep all night. Cut to next morning, my mom is screaming her arse off and the whole family is being terrorized by three tiny little brown bats in the living room.

Yeah, I looked for a while too. There should be a repository somewhere that has all the stuff from when SNL was actually funny.

OK help me out here. Maybe its my normal automatic animosity to anything dealing with cats on fark, but someone, please, help me out with the

"We can't stop here, its bat country" cat image. Yes I get the reference, however, the cats aren't even cleverly photoshoped into an actual image relating to it.

so please, what the hell is so god damn great about that image that it gets posted 10 times a day?

little_wing: Sesame Street is obscure now?

"Obscure" in the sense that most of these Sesame Street references are old-school (1970s and 1980s), prior to the 2002 makeover and especially pre-Elmo. Most of the references that make it to Fark headlines - and for that matter, video links - are no longer included in the show.

I didn't say American pop culture imports was a bad thing. Sure, it's worrying when little Australian kids talk like the American kids they watch on TV all day, but myeh. Free market and all that.

And I do watch UHF most of the time :)

Yeah, out here we got 1980s Sesame Street re-runs well into the late '90s.

I wouldn't exactly attribute that to pop culture more than the fact that there aren't many 6 year old farkers who would be drawing on modern day sesame street for their count references.
