studebaker hoch: If some predator was attacking my dog, I'd drive the predator off, killing it if I had to.

If I later got a fine for doing that, I'd write them a check and then hug my dog.

-----------------
well, if you HAD RTFA, you would have seen that the guy was warned that the eagle was in the area, and to stay away with his eagle- food sized dog. Rather than listen, he decided to go over to where the eagle was and investigate. Much the same as throwing bread to seagulls. I thought the guy was justified at first, but then I read the article, and found that the eagle didn't just come out of nowhere, rather, the guy decided to tempt fate.

Smarshmallow: studebaker hoch: If some predator was attacking my dog, I'd drive the predator off, killing it if I had to.

You'd be wrong and selfish to do so.

no, he wouldn't be wrong and selfish to do so. UNLESS, as what happened in the story, he had been specifically warned of the danger, and went ahead and stupidly took his dog over to where the predator is

Thanks Krackity (smart enough to read the article, too dumb to make your name bold)
/"she" here, not that it matters.

I took my wiener dog to a nude beach
and was told to put it on a leash.

I'm guessing its already been said but Golden Eagles usually only eat tortises.

I also want to add that if a golden eagle tried to get a hold of my weiner I would probably be the only vegan with an eagle hat. (whether or not it came out of nowhere).

Nobody messes with my weiner Tater Tot

submitter needs to pull his/her head out from his ass and notice the article says that he killed a protected species of eagle. Be thankful all he got was a fine and not jail time.

I know if it got a hold of *MY* wiener it would probably be the only eagle with a German hat.

Alaska (yeah, I'm from Alaska) still has the first case of Large-Bird-Eats-Small-Dog story.

The wife was horrified. The guy laughed his arse off.

People still think it is an urban legend...

It also happened in Maddison, ME...

If he'd had a real dog, then this never would have happened.

All those little yappy things are rodents with delusions of grandeur.

We have "protected" mountain lions down here in the suburbs of Delaware. They've eaten their fair share of domestic pets.
If one shows up in our backyard, my wife will blow it to Hell with our Russian assault shotgun. There are 48 rounds of double-ought buck in six 8-round magazines, waiting with the shotgun just inside the back door.

I could do it just as well, but she'd get away on the "frightened woman" defense, and I wouldn't.

/frightened, my arse: she's a killing machine

I blame the man for being German. If he wasn't driving so fast and listening to techno music, he wouldn't have needed such a small wiener [dog] to compensate.

BAHAHA

I was walking down the street the other day and all of a sudden a huge bird fell out of a tree.

We stared at each other for like a minute.

Then I realized it was a huge hawk; it flapped its wing and took off with an arboreal bushy tailed rodent in its talons.

It was sooo cool.

It live about 3 miles outside of Philadelphia, which makes it even cooler.

The suburban wilderness.

It's too bad for the dog owner that he wasn't in America. He could recoup his fine by suing the zoo for not securing said eagle and the guy that warned him off for not doing more to protect his dumb ass and dog.

Suppose he'd stood by whilst the eagle ate his doggy?

.... later ....

Dog: How high up are we?
Eagle: Oh, about 300 ft.
Dog: You wouldn't shiat me, would you?
