I don't understand how this "island of stability" is in any way "stable", if the elements in it are so UNstable they'll never be seen or weighed. They're about as stable as Crispin Glover after four pots of black coffee.

"The experiment produced three atoms of element 118 when calcium ions bombarded a californium target."

Let's hope the target was Hollywoodium.

Island of RELATIVE stability might be a better description. If it exists, it'll be up and to the right where "here be dragons" should be on this image:

Who cares about 118? I just want element 115 so I can get one of those spiffy armored flying suits...

So is some other lab working on the odd numbered theoretical elements?

"the team plans to look for element 120 by bombarding a plutonium target with iron isotopes."

Oh...because bombarding plutonium targets can only end up in good things happening.

I submitted this (2 weeks ago) with a not-funnier headline.

When are they going to isolate Upsidaisium?

Element 115? Maybe now Togra can unlock the secret of matter-energy conversion, creating a new age of utopia!

Obscure?

I voted on Farkium last time this article was posted.
Only because Totalfarkium sounds stupid
