I lol'd at the headline.

I hope someone kicks Samari Rolle in the ass. I have never seen a player cough it up as much as he did in that game.

It didn't help that Delhomme had all day to throw.

ESPN says he was fired...

The more turmoil in the Clevelandtimore Brownavens locker room, the happier I am.

Shut those Baltimorons up. They expected a 16-0 run to the Super Bowl. Six games into the season, and a top coach is fired/quit. Nice.

Kill one of their Felons now, just for fun.

His playcalling was definitely offensive, that's for sure.

OK, The Raiders need to dump Art Shell and get Fassil NOW!!!

I'm sure billick wanted him gone, but billick and fassel are supposedly best friends. no way he doesn't give fassel the opportunity to resign before firing him.

2006-10-17 03:03:28 PM
strange indeed. i dont think billick has called plays since he got here.

"Ravens Offensive Coordinator?"

Kinda like "military intelligence," no?

Is "resigns" the new "You're fired!" catch phrase, because Fassel got a pink slip?

How the f*uck this guy got the Giants to the Super Bowl, I'll never know. Looks like he got assraped by the Ravens again.

It's Fassels' fault that the Ravens' offense sucks? It was much worse before he came into town.

Brian "Big Head" Billick will never look in the mirror when it comes to problems on his team.

The offense was worse before he came to town? You do realize that Jamal Lewis had 2,000+ yards the year before Fassel came to Baltimore, don't ya?

FarktheHeraldAngelSings: You do realize that Jamal Lewis had 2,000+ yards the year before Fassel came to Baltimore, don't ya?

Well, with Kyle Boller starting before his injury brought on Anthony Wright, they had no choice but to run the ball. And their offense was ranked #20 in the NFL. Last year it was #10. Not exactly putting the fear of god into opponents, but an improvement.

Sounds like a bitter Cleveland Stains fan to me.

What'chu talkin' bout Willis?

This was his second year as offensive coordinator. Lewis was on the decline previous to Fassel's arrival.

2003: 2066 yards (16 games)
2004: 1033 yards (12 games)
2005: 906 yards (15 games)
2006: 939 yards (16-game projection)

Maybe if Lewis wasn't spending time in prison, halfway houses and in the courts, he might have time to run for more yards.

Tiki Barber's career took off under Fassell, it's hard to believe that his system is at fault for Jamal Lewis' decline.

Dumb-Ass-Monkey: OK, The Raiders need to dump Art Shell and get Fassil NOW!!!

He'd certainly be an upgrade. Although Fassel excels with mature, veteran talent sround him. Oakland certainly doesn't have that

2003: Best OL in football, hungry RB, best D in football = good team.

Today: Wlater Jones is the new Jonathan Ogden, Jonathan Ogden is the new Some LT You Never Heard Of, Jamal isn't the same runner (watch his feet), the D is just above average, and while the WRs are better QB play is down (McNair is not an upgrade over Dilfer, and yes I mean that).

So, what we have is an 8-8 team that played hard and lucky for a few weeks.

Al Davis is not going to fire Art Shell. Jim Fassel can wait for another gig to open up rather than settle for the bona-fide clusterf*ck that is the Oakland Raiders.

Cowher is probably going to leave Pittsburgh at the end of this year. Gibbs might not be long for the Redskins, and Parcells will probably give up at the end of this year. I would imagine that if they don't go far, Marty Schottenheimer won't be around next year, either.

"Cowher is probably going to leave Pittsburgh at the end of this year"

why?

I think the only people in Baltimore that thought this team was as good as they said it was, were the media.

End of every game, my thought was "Wow, we looked sloppy, this won't last."

Bigtimmy

There's been talk this year that he wants to leave the pros and coach NC State.

2006-10-18 12:48:31 AM
I've also heard the NC State rumor. He just bought a house in Raleigh.

2006-10-18 12:53:49 AM
Jim Fassel.....isn't it more correctly "never should have been"???????????????????

Ravens offensive coordinator says "nevermore" when questioned when will the Offense score a TD for themselves.
