His Senate career doesn't count?

STFU and get back to filling ketchup bottles.

John Kerry only gets a second chance if he does two things: looks prettier and learns better public speaking skills.

It sounds silly, but it's true. In order to win an election nowadays, you need an attractive candidate with a good smile. They seem more trustworthy, down-to-earth, and worthy of forgiveness. Numerous psych studies support this in all walks of life: hot convicts get smaller jail sentences (if at all), hot people get paid more, hot people are seen as more trustworthy, and hot people get more positive attention from their parents.

Also, his voice is annoying and puts people to sleep. So while he might make valid points, he puts everyone to sleep in the process given his inflection.

Either Kerry or Hillary...either one has huge entertainment/fark value.

/Kerry is in love with a man
//himself

Kerry...... no. Just no.

koder: So while he might make valid points, he puts everyone to sleep in the process given his inflection.

His inflection isn't the problem, it's the 400 word run-on sentences filled with qualifications and muddled prepositional phrases that's the problem. John Kerry can't answer a true/false question in 100 words or less.

2006-10-15 09:39:07 PM
Sorry John, we really weren't all that enamored with you. We just didn't like Bush.

Plus, he looks French.

This is the guy who referred to republicans as the "retreatican party". Christ, the way he drones on, you really wonder if he's got any brain activity up there.

Your points are perfectly valid, but learn some farking speaking skills. You're like a retarded robot who's circuits are maladjusted.

Any true/false question being asked to a Presidential candidate is either a) a waste of time asking them as it's too simple or b) not actually a true/false question.

If anyone happened to see him on Bill Maher last week, it appears he's learning his lesson. He's at least as lively as Gore these days.

When someone asks "Did you vote for (insert legislation here)?" and he answers with a 5-minute essay in the first primary debate about 14 times, we can revisit this topic. It'll happen, trust me.

Go to hell, John Kerry

2006-10-15 10:01:48 PM
I actually thought he was a good candidate. Forgive me for actually basing my opinion on policy rather than public-speaking ability and sound bites.

2006-10-15 10:09:14 PM
I don't really care if he runs or not, but he probably shouldn't start out by comparing himself to Richard Nixon. Just a thought.

2006-10-15 10:13:04 PM
Son of GodI actually thought he was a good candidate. Forgive me for actually basing my opinion on policy rather than public-speaking ability and sound bites.

I agree. Not to mention, we don't even know whom he'll be running against.

2006-10-15 10:13:49 PM
He couldn't beat the political equivalent of a crippled, retarded child in a footrace and he wants to run again? Good luck. If the Republicans decide not to run a cripped, retarded child then Kerry will get his ass kicked so hard he'll become French rather than just be a speaker of it.

2006-10-15 10:15:02 PM
No Kerry please.
And no Hillary please.
And I can't really stand Feingold after he took away my freedom of speech.
I thought Warner would be okay, but then he dropped out before joining.

Crap. This is getting depressing.

2006-10-15 10:24:32 PM
He'd better be prepared this time to answer some hard questions about his disgraceful record of dodging military service.

2006-10-15 10:33:50 PM
No Such Agency: He'd better be prepared this time to answer some hard questions about his disgraceful record of dodging military service.

Hehe, that's funny.

Dear John Kerry,

Please don't.

Sincerely,

The Association of Stupid Senators Having Overly Legislated Everything.

The Democrats at times remind me of those two guys on the Simpsons who own a restaurant that no one goes to (Indian food I think). "Sometimes, I think you WANT to fail!"

No Such Agency He'd better be prepared this time to answer some hard questions about his disgraceful record of dodging military service.

I heard he deserted his National Guard unit during wartime. Anyone who'd do that never should get to be Commander in Chief. No true American would ever vote a deserter into the White House.

I see what you did there.

Or a draft dodger, for that matter. I concur completely.

2006-10-15 11:16:15 PM
Wait... was Kerry in Vietnam? Wow, I had no idea.

2006-10-15 11:17:54 PM
Comrade438: a draft dodger

*cough* Clinton *cough*

Oddly enough, nobody in the ANG has come forward saying that Bush did anything wrong... how curious.

2006-10-15 11:19:17 PM
I hope Kerry runs. I've been having trouble sleeping, and his speeches could be just the thing to nod me off.

2006-10-15 11:37:39 PM
I'd vote for him against probably any Republican candidate. Might even vote for him over McCain, if the lovely Senator from Arizona is still saying Iraq was a good idea in 2008.

2006-10-15 11:40:23 PM
The Democrats just don't get it. They nominate the only man on planet earth that makes Bush look like a regular guy by comparison, and wonder why they lose. Then they think about running the same guy. Who the fark is in charge over there? Howard Dean? Another lunatic. Scwarzenegger was beatable but who do the dems run? Phil Angeledes, the Dukakis of California. Then they complain the system was rigged against them. How about running a likeable candidate, asshats?

2006-10-15 11:46:32 PM
Churchill2004: Oddly enough, nobody in the ANG has come forward saying that Bush did anything wrong... how curious.

Also, not one witness has ever come forward stating they ever saw him in Alabama.

Not very curious at all. Chimpy deserted to Tijuna for the dope and hookers. Meanwhile, Cheney was getting FIVE, count'em FIVE, deferments from Vietnam.

Don't try to defend Bush. It just makes you look like a tard.

2006-10-16 12:03:54 AM
And to those who who said Kerry dodged the draft... who the hell cares? Vietnam was an immoral war in the first place.

2006-10-16 12:13:05 AM
Reading this thread, one can't help but wonder if Freep was notified of this greenlight.

Anyone looking at the last two--hell, the last six years who honestly thinks someone could've "screwed things up" more than the current administration seriously has their head in the sand.

Some of us silly fools tend to think that there are more important qualifications for those jobs than likeability. But what do we know.

Have you read Kerry's book? It is something, he pretty much spends the entire thing dropping references to how he compares to JFK. This guy is beyond shallow. Kerry is Kerry's worst enemy.

2006-10-16 12:27:39 AM
Uhm, no. Good guy, I like ya, John, but no. You couldn't beat George W. Bush. 'Nuff said.

HumbleGod: Some of us silly fools tend to think that there are more important qualifications for those jobs than likeability. But what do we know.

Some, but not enough to win an election.

Your country has 300 million people. You should be able to find at least one person who is both likeable and competent... it doesn't need to be an either-or thing.

2006-10-16 12:42:20 AM
For the love of god, somebody with a last name I haven't heard of run for president.
NOT clinton
NOT bush
NOT kerry

2006-10-16 02:06:41 AM
No John, you had your chance and you blew it. How about no more Skull and Bones members in high places, appointed or elected? They've had their fun.
Their track record just creeps me right the fark out

What I was gonna say.

Well you Democrats gotta pick SOMEBODY. Can't just run in 2008 with nobody.

2006-10-16 07:57:38 AM
I'm writing in Kinky Friedman.

2006-10-16 08:13:35 AM
From the standpoint that the Democrats fielding a really good candidate would make the Republicans field one to be competitive and ergo help the whole process out I have to say..

No.. just.. no.

In the south Kerry played as the absolute characiture of everything we make fun of politicians for (waffling to match new polling data, never giving a straightforward answer, etc..)

I had such hopes Warner would run, that would have IMHO been the best contender. As for Hillary, if you folks on the left leaning side think the opinions are massively polarized on Bush, just want until you see how people will react to Hillary.

2006-10-16 08:17:14 AM
OH FARK !
If I have to watch him put his hands together as if in prayer and do that little bow over and over I might go postal.
Then of course threes the scary Lady !

BudTheSpud: Well you Democrats gotta pick SOMEBODY. Can't just run in 2008 with nobody.

And who are the Republicans gonna pick?
McCain?
Kitten killer Frist?
Or maybe Darth Cheney?

O'Reily and Coulter the other day said it themselves, the Republicans have no viable options, thats why everyone is focused on "Who will the Democrats choose?". They are more concerned of Hilary not winning than them actually winning. Kinda like '04 for the Democrats.

beerbaron: They nominate the only man on planet earth that makes Bush look like a regular guy by comparison, and wonder why they lose.

Who was wondering why "they" lost?

2006-10-16 10:19:48 AM
Fiengold/Obama in '08!

No more Democrats that act like the VP of Marketing. Believe in something and fight for it for once, you bunch of stuffed shirt good for nothings!

The next Dem who votes for a flag-burning ban gets a boot to the groin.

2006-10-16 10:46:36 AM
Do. Not. Want.
I'd vote for Hillary before Kerry.
