Brilliant!

Tom Mabe's hilarious. I normally hate it when people are just plain mean to telemarketers, but he makes it funny instead of just being hateful.

2006-10-14 01:57:34 PM
one of the best youtubes I've seen/heard

That was like a training tape for recognizing voice stress. Hillarious.

That was beautiful.

english is my family's second language and my dad makes it a habit to practice his english on these douchebags
i've witnessed him talk to one for 45 minutes asking all kinds of different pointless questions and in the end ended up saying "no thank you not interested"

Crocodile: Is impersonating an officer legal now?

Yes.

2006-10-14 02:59:57 PM
I got to meet this guy a few year back, was driving a new VW Bug with a phone handle on top, and numbers on the front. Pretty funny.

Exactly. The prank was great, but those two idiots laughing on top of the call almost ruined it.

Ownd.

Holy crap that's AWESOME

Tom's got the act right. He never says he's an officer of the law. You can say all you want, but unless you claim to be a real officer, it's not impersonation.

2006-10-14 03:06:54 PM
The idiot DJ's laughing in the background ruined it. They cut off some of what was being said because they were laughing over it.

2006-10-14 03:06:55 PM
Very impressive... Hero tag perhaps?

2006-10-14 03:07:54 PM
pwned.

i still can't stand the sound of the bob & tom studio laughing continually but awesome prank...

I also found their constant gaffawing(sp?) incredibly annoying.

If you don't claim to be an officer, but wear a uniform (let's say it's not on the phone) and do requests sounding like you're a police officer... Does that count as impersonating ?

There's that practical jokes show that rents police cars from time to time to stop people and put them in weird situations (homosexual acts between officers, officers in lingerie, drunk, stoned, etc) and i've always wondered how this can be legal. (It's filmed in Montreal, but i don't believe the laws change that much from the states) There's stuff in there that would make the average american get arrested as soon as a real cop got there.

Is impersonating an officer legal now?

theres always one to ruin the fun isnt there...
personally if you are cold calling as a telemarketer, this would be called 'getting what you deserve'

i know its a job, nd i am usually polite let them say there spiel and then have to say no a dozen times because i was polite and didnt hang up on them... but this is comedy gold....

Next thing crocodile will be saying is taht crank yankers is criminal too...harrassment or something

2006-10-14 03:19:29 PM
awesome.. anyone out there have a copy without the morans on the radio laughing along?

2006-10-14 03:20:13 PM
telemarketers are not your friends.
greenlight to f*ck with them.

2006-10-14 03:20:50 PM
Hilarious!

2006-10-14 03:25:12 PM
The moral of the story is if you're a cute mexican midget in Vegas, beware anyone with alcohol on thier breath going by the name of Tom Mabe.

2006-10-14 03:27:33 PM
This Man is a Genius

2006-10-14 03:29:12 PM
Technically it went beyond a joke when they told the telemarketer that if he got off the line he would be charged. All this is of course making an assumption that they are NOT in a 2 party state which make the initial recording without warning illegal as well...
Could you imagine the looks on the jurys' face as they heard this tape as 'evidence' :)
In the meantime I snorted coffee all over my keyboard I was laughing so damn hard :)_

"Are you his gay lover ?" that was PRICELESS !!!!

2006-10-14 03:30:31 PM
Would have been better without the phony-voiced hacky radio guys haw-hawing through the whole thing.

2006-10-14 03:32:14 PM
That has got to be the smoothest, most convincing CSI episode that poor telemarketing fool has ever heard....."Your calling the littleton police!!!!!" the fear in his voice was so damn funny

2006-10-14 03:37:18 PM
I know Tom Mabe...he was jazzed when i told him he was linked on FARK.
He said he was going to put up the video version of that phone call on Youtube in the near future.
In the meanwhile. www.tommmabe.com

OMG that sucked. Hillarious phone call, but the laughing made me somehow unable to laugh, even though I thought it seemed hillarious.

2006-10-14 03:44:55 PM
Okay, what's the link to the no Bob & Tom version of this?

2006-10-14 03:47:21 PM
I've been stuck in the same town as these two cackling bozos for about 25 years.

I wish they would STFU.

Awesome link, but next time can we get it without the douche-bag DJs laughing in the background?

Funniest shiat I've heard in a long while.
"Say I want to mail your ass a letter. WHAT would I have to write on the outside of that envelope to make sure the mail man delivered it right to your ass?!"

2006-10-14 03:54:33 PM
Are Bob & Tom afraid that if they don't keep up the obnoxious laughter, their audience will leave them?

I used to carpool a few years ago and we had one guy who loved those two. If he turned it on, I made a practice of laughing exactly like they do whenever they laughed. I even did it louder whenever they played a repeat joke, such as the painfully unfunny pussycat song. He quickly realized how annoying it was.

Don't know why I told this story - just wondering if there are still folks that listen to that crap, I guess.

Bob and Tom are the obnox. I miss the local morning guys where I used to live: The Rise Guys. They were farking awesome.

I used to work the 3pm-midnight shift at work and I'll be damned if I'd wake my lazy rear up early enough to listen to a morning talk show. That said, I was driving somewhere early one morning and my usual radio station was playing a "best of bob and tom" show. That 2 hour drive was awesome. Some of the people they have on that show are hillarious. Bob and Tome not so much.
