... I lol'd

/Nice headline

2006-10-10 10:22:12 AM
Definitely a sweet headline.

Everyone involved in this is kinda wrong. You paid to see Babs, so you've got to be aware of her strong political streak. Plus you don't get to dictate the content of the performance.

As for Babs, STFU and GBTS (go back to singing). They didn't pay to hear you ramble on with you incoherent critiques. And you've got more money than God - we expect a bit more professionalism from you.

2006-10-10 10:26:17 AM
*golf clap*

However, it's not like people at MSG have never heard the F-word before.

2006-10-10 10:32:48 AM
I saw tickets advertised in the paper for this show. Something like $750 - face value.

2006-10-10 10:39:56 AM
Oy, Vey!

2006-10-10 10:54:20 AM
"I was surprised," said Nancy Heller, 58, of Westchester. "She yelled at the guy. She actually said the f-word."

Dear Nancy,

I hate you.

Love Always,
MuckSP

/Oh Noes! The F-Word!

Diogenes:

You paid to see Babs, so you've got to be aware of her strong political streak.

I disagree. People were there to hear her sing. Not to espouse on her political beliefs. It was a concert, not a spoken word performance.

If her fans really want to know her political feelings, they need to go no further than her website.

slayer199: I think they're both big whiners. But at $750 a pop, I'm starting to feel more for the fans.

2006-10-10 11:36:18 AM
Would have been funnier had you spelled it correctly!

/it's Yentl

2006-10-10 11:37:23 AM
Does this mean her record/ticket sales will slump in red states and she'll have to book concerts in Canada?

submitter: Yentyl goes Mentyl on gentile.
/thrice as funny

2006-10-10 11:49:31 AM
Couldn't give a fark about the story, but loved the headline!

2006-10-10 11:52:01 AM
I believe in the first amendment and freedom of speech and all that gay stuff but just sing, monkey woman. The homosexuals and old people who come to your shows don't need to be lectured about our piss poor president.

Diogenes:

Exactly my point. At that price you'd expect Babs to sing...not rant.

2006-10-10 12:00:48 PM
The man got up and left.

niiice. Hope he got his dough back.

2006-10-10 12:01:08 PM
Who the hell is a Barbra Steisand fan in 2006 anyway?

2006-10-10 12:05:50 PM
Confabulat

see Mugato's post.

2006-10-10 12:06:14 PM
At $750, Babs better be blowin' every guy in the joint.

There you go.

"I was surprised," said Nancy Heller, 58, of Westchester. "She yelled at the guy. She actually said the f-word."

THIS JUST IN: Outside your house, people don't all talk like it's a mother farking Disney movie.

2006-10-10 12:16:34 PM
I think she has been mentyl for some time, at least since the 70's.

Nice job on the headline.

MS. STREISAND
Hello there, little boy. Do you know who I am?
KYLE
No.

Babs looks shocked.

MS. STREISAND
Oh I bet you do-
(Singing)
I'm going... Where there's lucky
clovers in the sun...

KYLE
(Covering his ears)
AGH! Stop that!

STAN
Yeah, that sucks, dude.

Now Babs looks pissed off.

MS. STREISAND
I'm Barbara Streisand!

STAN
So.

MS. STREISAND
So?!
(Composing herself)
So... I'm a VERY famous and VERY
important individual.

STAN
Like John Elway important?

MS. STREISAND
WHAT?!

STAN
Do you know John Elway?

MS. STREISAND
No!

STAN
(To the boys)
Oh, so you're really famous and
important but you don't know John Elway.

Babs looks ready to kill. But she takes a deep breath and
tries another approach.

MS. STREISAND
Look, little boy, I understand that
you found a neat little triangle
near here. You know what I'm talking
about?

KYLE
(Suspicious)
Yeah...

CARTMAN
No, I found it, HE stole it!

KYLE
YOU THREW IT AWAY, CARTMAN!!!

CARTMAN
(To Streisand)
I'm not talking to him, because he's
a dirty thief.

Babs ignores this and kneels down next to Kyle.

MS. STREISAND
(Excited)
Little boy, does the triangle have a
symbol of two snakes joined at the
middle?

KYLE
Yeah, how'd you know?

Bab's eyes get huge. She takes in a deep breath, and looks
into Kyle's eyes.

MS. STREISAND
Okay, now this is VERY important...
Where is the Triangle of Zinthar
now?

KYLE
Triangle of Zinthar?

STAN
Why do you want to know, lady?

MS. STREISAND
I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU, YOU PISSANT
LITTLE HICK!!!

STAN
Woa, dude!

Stan reels back. Babs grabs Kyle's arms and shakes him.

MS. STREISAND
WHERE IS THE TRIANGLE, DAMMIT?

KYLE
AGHAGH!!

Just then Officer Barbrady steps up.

OFFICER BARBRADY
What seems to be the problemo, here?

Babs let's go of Kyle, stands up and fixes her hair.

MS. STREISAND
Problemo? There's no problemo,
Officer. I was just introducing myself
to these... CHARMING little boys.

CARTMAN
Nu-uh! She was being a total biatch!

Babs gets pissed again, but contains herself.

OFFICER BARBRADY
Boys shouldn't you be in school?

STAN
It's Saturday.

OFFICER BARBRADY
NO EXCUSES! MOVE ALONG YA LITTLE
TROUBLE MAKERS!!

The boys all look at each other and walk away. Babs and
Barbrady are left alone.

MS. STREISAND
Well?

OFFICER BARBRADY
Well what?

MS. STREISAND
YOU know who I am, don't you?

Barbrady looks her up and down.

OFFICER BARBRADY
Well, you ain't Fiona Apple. And if
you ain't Fiona Apple I don't give a
rat's ass.

MS. STREISAND
AAAGHGH!!!!!

Streisand fumes and walks away.

OFFICER BARBRADY
Hoo! What a biatch!

I think what offended ol' Nancy here was that a 64-year-old woman of such grace, culture, style, and intellect went so "red state" on someone who disagreed with her.

Is the "F-bomb" all Babs has got? If so, that's sad.

2006-10-10 12:40:58 PM
Who the hell is a Barbra Steisand fan in 2006 anyway?

Apparently, the sort of person that can afford $750 per ticket. You wish you were so well-off.

/not a Babs fan.

2006-10-10 12:45:29 PM
Going by her voice on the clip on the news she's gone way downhill.

At this point folks are just paying to see someone who used to sing well.

2006-10-10 12:49:40 PM
RocketRod: Is the "F-bomb" all Babs has got? If so, that's sad.

Well, she now has something in common with the Vice President.

2006-10-10 01:18:04 PM
Actually, the most important part of the Post headline is "rips Bush". They would not have given a second look to the story had she not gone after the man the Post is currently fellating.

2006-10-10 01:20:33 PM
Famous people think they have an enlightened point of view because they are constantly told how amazing they are. Just sing biatch.

2006-10-10 01:28:54 PM
Good. If you support Bush you desever to be told the stfu in public, at a concert you paid money to attend, hopefully in front of your 10 un-closeted Republican friends.

2006-10-10 01:30:12 PM
Why would she alienate more then half her fan-base; over '60s and non-heterosexuals?

This will help republicans in the next election...

2006-10-10 01:44:17 PM
"The homosexuals and old people who come to your shows "

I have never once met a gay person that likes old noseface. Anyone I've talked to thinks she's a worn out old skank.

StinkyFiddlewinks:

The guy that complained wasn't necessarily supporting Bush, his comment was in the lines "Are we at a fundraiser or a concert?"

2006-10-10 01:53:36 PM
I couldn't figure out why the hell there was so much traffic, and yuppies around MSG last night when I had to go to Penn Station to take my train home (which is right below MSG for non NY'ers)

They wouldn't get out of my way, and I had to make my train, and I had to shove them out of my way to get through. "Excuse me" is not in yuppie vocab apparently.

Thank you Babs for telling the haters to FARK OFF since I would have done the same.

2006-10-10 02:15:17 PM
Wasn't she supposed to move out of the country in 2000?

2006-10-10 02:39:34 PM
Knowing that she would shove her political agenda down everyones throat (which she has every right to do) I would never go to one of her concerts, even if it was free.

2006-10-10 02:46:36 PM
I saw tickets advertised in the paper for this show. Something like $750 - face value.

They're available on theaterextras.com for $4 a pop. (Theaterextras is a papering site, where theatres desperately try to fill empty seats). So you can see that despite the high ticket price, her ability to fill a hall is long gone.

2006-10-10 03:16:13 PM
JoeCowboy: At $750, Babs better be blowin' every guy in the joint.

Dammit...i just had lunch too....
*urp*

2006-10-10 03:54:44 PM
Babs Streisand is to 2006 what Jane Fonda was to the 1970s.

Game, I mean career, OVER.

2006-10-10 05:19:35 PM
Yentyl was right...anyone who'd pay for a Mecca-show should Shut the F*ck Up.

Seriously, get her in a room, along with her fans, and gas the lot.

/whoops!

2006-10-12 08:49:31 AM
didnt she sleep over at times in the lincoln room alot during the clinton admid?
no wonder she's pizzed!
