I think you mean he invaded a sovereign country for no reason and began killing its people. They had a right to be mad.

"You smell that? Do you smell that? That's napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell - you know that gasoline smell - the whole hill. It smelled like . . . victory."
Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore (Apocalypse Now)

God damn... talk about using a lot of words to say absolutely nothing. I looked and looked, but didn't find anything other than grossly misinformed opinion at the end of that link, though the blog author obviously feels he is spewing unadulterated fact.

The North invaded the South to start the Korean War Einstein.

Reasons not to fear? Are things that bad that Americans really have to search for reasons not to be afraid? We're supposed to be bad-ass cowboys, not pussies.

Note to the fearful Americans:
You and your children will not be killed by any terrorist attack or nuclear weapon. Check the statistics. You will all die of heart disease. Can we please work to elect people interested in peace now? Thanks.

I shouldn't fear them because they don't have a delivery system capable of sending a nuke to Texas.

Sure they do: FedEx.

Read your history, Planck. American and Russian imperialism originally destabilized that region, a region guilty only of Japanese resource-predation, under such shoddy pretenses that America bypassed an official declaration of war, an illegal act.

MWeather,

FedEx

When your city absolutely, positively has to be nuked on time :)

JerseyTim: Sure, but I think the real issue here, is that while there is a slight threat of NK nuking one city probably in Japan. NK at that time would no longer exist. And despite the fears of everyone, China is not stupid enough to engage in a retaliatory strike. I mean seriously, china might think of NK as a friend, but its not about to risk destroying the entire world over it.

Rational heads are still the ones that control 99% of the existing nukes in the world.

Now this may not be true in the future, and I fear for our children. But we have a while to do before then. Even still if every country has nuclear power, I still don't see why any country would risk getting itself completely destroyed over a friend. This idea only had merit during the cold war where such alliances provided the protection from you not getting attacked in the first place. Nuclear MUD alliances in the new era do not make sense. What you will see occasionally is one country attacking an innocent country and getting its ass handed to it by the rest of the world. Or two countries engaged in mutual attacks and the rest of the world staying the fark out of it.

Somehow I get the impression Kim here is on the receiving end of this joke....

2006-10-09 03:30:12 PM
Hopefully, Crazy Kim is still sane enough to realize that a nuclear attack on US will result in North Korea becoming a glass parking lot, Sorry South Korea, but the "Sunshine" policy, just like appeasement doesn't work with dictators.

They spend all their money and resources to build weapons, to threaten with them to get foreign aid so they could keep building more weapons without spending anything on their people's well-being.

This is a stupid, stupid article.

Why should you fear a North Korean nuke?

1. The North Koreans are willing to sell just about anything to anyone at any time. And they don't have much to sell except military technology. Maybe they wouldn't sell to a wealthy terrorist group. Maybe.

2. North Korea threatens to nuke Japan all the time. Now, they have to be taken seriously. Japan scares everyone in the region because of their past history and economic might. They also have as more plutonium stockpiled that anyone else around. If they decided they had to counter the North Korean nuke with a nuke of their own, they could become a nuclear power in about 20 minutes.

3. Japan going nuclear would piss off China in a way you haven't see China pissed off yet. This would make China more militant against Japanese interests. That destabilizes the entire region.

4. If China or the U.S. cut off the humanitarian aid we give N. Korea, including fuel and food, it would lead to the deaths of millions and a refugee crisis that would make Darfur look like Palm Beach.

5. North Korea, having now made china lose face, loses China's help, and could turn to blackmail against S. Korea. It wouldn't have to be a nuclear attack, just a twenty minute barrage of conventional arms on Seoul leading to 30,000 - 100,000 dead, with the threat of a follow-up nuclear attack if S. Korea or the U.S. counter.

So yes, this is a big farking deal. You should be afraid of it on several levels. China/S.Korea/Japan are some of the most important economies in the world. You don't want to see instability in that region at all.

I actually read on here yesterday that this tin pot dictator with delusions of godlihood known as Lil Kim stated not only does he/North Korea have a nuclear bomb but a hydrogen and neutron one as well?!

Since when did North Korean science leap frog light years ahead of China and Russia in the development of the NEUTRON BOMB?

From what I know ONLY America has had the science behind the development of the neutron bomb and ONLY America has the NEUTRON BOMB.

So how is it that a poor nation like North Korea can gather all these WMDs and yet have a populace that is so poor they collect welfare off the world to feed them.

Crap! If this was America those deadbeats would have been cut off long ago. :-) The money that was given to them for assistance was to go towards the people not to get fancy and fatal boy toys.

I call BS on this fact they have all these assorted bombs and that I call "Confirmed" that this is little Kim's attempt to compensate for personal insecurities and a craving to be a global attention whore so that he projects to the world that he IS important too - much like Paris Hilton does with her family legacy and her looks!

Remove them and she and her fame crumbles into dust.
