NASSSSTTTTYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

Ni!
2002-07-10 01:40:46 PM
Good Grief! That is some scary stuff. What the hell is wrong with people anymore?

2002-07-10 01:41:03 PM
I don't know who was more stupid: the teacher, or the students that actually volunteered.

2002-07-10 01:41:13 PM
Ahhhh, New Bedford, former home of Big Dan's. What a great town.
(not)

2002-07-10 01:41:19 PM
Words can not describe the sheer stupidity of this teacher.

So I'll stop trying.

2002-07-10 01:41:40 PM
I used to smoke pot with my high school art teacher...somehow seemed harmless at the time.

2002-07-10 01:41:43 PM
Well wouldn't one of these moron kids realize that the needle was being used over and over again. Maybe this guy had HIV or something and wanted to spread it around?

2002-07-10 01:41:53 PM
No, it's ok! He wiped the needle with alcohol!

Dumbass...

2002-07-10 01:41:57 PM
Not a good idea but still the risk is very small. The guy is still a farking moron, though.

2002-07-10 01:42:38 PM
"If your son is diagnosed with Hepatitis C, don't fear. He can still fark Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee (depending on his preference)."

2002-07-10 01:43:11 PM
shouldnt wiping the needle with alcohol be sufficient? Seriously.

2002-07-10 01:43:53 PM
And a science teacher, no less. Dumb fark!

2002-07-10 01:44:21 PM
The needle and the damage done.

2002-07-10 01:45:12 PM
This just shocks me on so many levels. So many. It's amazing that in 2002 somebody can be this stupid.

2002-07-10 01:45:51 PM
Its not like they stuck a hollow-bore needle into a vein in their arms or anything. They pricked their finger with a lancet- like a push pin. I thought they were shooying up with him when I read the headline.

And alcohol is very good at cleaning these needles. Still- he is a dumbass

2002-07-10 01:46:28 PM
Is the school system that poor? I remember doing this in 7th grade and we used disposable plasic lances. The same kind diabetics used to test their blood levels.

2002-07-10 01:46:56 PM
Oh my god farking disgusting set me on fire now now now

2002-07-10 01:47:15 PM
Volvogirl: no and here is the reason why, in 15 years when one of these kids gets HIV from a lil' boy ass love or something like that they can now sue the school district until they are blue in the face

another fag spreading aids awareness

2002-07-10 01:48:35 PM
Transmission thorough needle sticks is much more likely with a hollow-bore needle or when their is gross blood on a solid needle, like a suture needle. Alcohol is very effective at cleaning needles. Still- its just nasty- like sharing a toothbrush

2002-07-10 01:49:07 PM
Sqmon = real nice guy

2002-07-10 01:49:51 PM
What is wrong with sharing a toothbrush?

2002-07-10 01:50:11 PM
Thank you Sqmon for that enlighting comment.

2002-07-10 01:50:35 PM
Sqmon: what the phuck are you talking about?

So much for teaching your kids about the evils of today's world. Those who participated in the test were probably under the impression that the world is a beautiful place filled with love.

You don't have to scare you kids, just make them a little more saavy.

2002-07-10 01:50:52 PM
Seinfreak-

I think that in 7th grade if a science teacher tells you that rubbing a needle clean with alcohol makes it clean, you will believe him/her.

2002-07-10 01:51:08 PM
This just shocks me on so many levels. So many. It's amazing that in 2002 somebody can be this stupid.

didn't you read the paper....the incident took place in 2001
people were still stupid way back in those dark ages

2002-07-10 01:51:26 PM
No, it's all right! Really! he used a lancet not a needle .
Seriously though even when you flash steralize (autoclave 5 min. or so) a needle the hollow cavity still has marked amounts of live bacteria. Viruses are even harder to kill.

2002-07-10 01:51:51 PM
Crap. Your.

2002-07-10 01:52:10 PM
In my day, we used rusty sewing needles, and we were thankful.

Shouldn't an amorphous, anime-style mega-monster have formed from the collective human stupidity by now? Why isn't the beast raging over Tokyo right now?

2002-07-10 01:52:24 PM
Back in my day we only shared crack pipes....these kids now-a-days...

2002-07-10 01:52:34 PM
Vouchers, anyone?

2002-07-10 01:52:35 PM
Ah yes, the "Daily Smoking Gun" post...... when does the daily "Sports by Brooks" post come out? Just wondering.....

2002-07-10 01:52:41 PM
when are u guys going to post the UK decriminalizes cannabis story at http://europe.cnn.com/2002/WORLD/europe/07/10/uk.cannabis/index.html i submitted at 9:00am?

2002-07-10 01:53:02 PM
Andonbray- maybe thats my own personal little phobia, but the mouth is a cesspool of germs. And I'm not the kind of guy who washed his hands 30x/day or wears kleenex boxes for shoes.

2002-07-10 01:53:39 PM
This is a science teacher, didn't he have some stronger like nitric acid?

2002-07-10 01:53:48 PM
The sterilization seems fine but why in the phuck were they participating in a school activity that makes them bleed? Shouldnt they be reading from their textbooks that are costing us millions of taxpayer dollars?

2002-07-10 01:54:09 PM
Rosalea: didn't you read the paper....the incident took place in 2001
people were still stupid way back in those dark ages

That's a good point. People were a lot dumber then.

2002-07-10 01:54:19 PM
Should have read this book.

"If your son is diagnosed with Hepatitis C, don't fear. He can still fark Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee

Isn't that one of Eminem's lyrics?

2002-07-10 01:54:47 PM
Whorbal...

You're going to have to wait your turn.... we HAVE to have the DAILY SMOKING GUN POST and SPORTS BY BROOKS posts before anything original!

2002-07-10 01:54:53 PM
Heh heh heh. Spruce Goose.... (sigh)

2002-07-10 01:55:13 PM
London, anyone?

2002-07-10 01:56:02 PM
"Viruses are even harder to kill."
Yes, but the HIV virus is very, very, weak and dies quickly.
Hepatitis can live for a month or more in dry blood.

2002-07-10 01:56:13 PM
I hate it when teachers needle you to participate.

2002-07-10 01:56:37 PM
Thanks for the article I read last year...

2002-07-10 01:57:27 PM
On a sarcastic note, tests similar to this would be a good way to weed out stupid people from the population.

And if you make it a feild trip you can take the stupid people's money while your at it. Score!

"The grade 7 class will be going sky diving. A charge of $40 will cover lunch and transportation...."

Seriously it's scary that this can happen. The worst that ever happened around here was for a biology unit, a nearby school almost got away with growing weed in the greenhouse.

2002-07-10 01:57:30 PM
Mysticcat,

Where do you keep your toothbrush?

Where do you keep your toilet?

Now that's nasty.

2002-07-10 01:57:33 PM
Its hard to tell a 12 year old kid to listen to a teacher (or cop or preist) and them expect him to know when the teacher an asshat.

2002-07-10 01:58:48 PM
I say good for him.

Now the kids are learning even more than they would have if they hadn't been stuck with a dirty lancet...they're going to learn about infectious blood diseases, dyalysis technology, viral mutations, pharmeceutical testing...heck maybe even some of these kids might want to grow up and be doctors themselves one day. Unless they die first.

In fact, this man is probably the greatest U.S. educator of all time.

all my science techer ever taught me was to put my hand up when I had to go to the bathroom.

(PUTS HAND UP)
