The Ring scared me the first time I saw it, but only that once.

Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist are great. I don't watch a lot of scary movies. I get nightmares...

"Jesus Camp"

(not really, but I wanted all the other Farkers to think I was cool)

And mryoop789 got it right, anyway.

But I'll put "Jaws" in the Top 5.

I liked The Mothman Prophecies. I don't watch scary movies very often because most of them are so incredibly bad that I end up laughing. But Mothman was great, both well done and freaky enough to make me leave the lights on at night.

Jaws and Silence of the Lambs were great, too.

I just saw A History of Violence. That was kind of scary.

Wolfen - early 80's

love the scene where the cop gets his head torn off by the wolf-thing, then it's lying in the street mouthing the words 'o my god' before the car blows up.

The Exorcist. Yeah yeah, blah blah, creeps me out every time I watch it anyway.

Not scary but more fun than I thought it would be: House of Wax.

Blair Witch. For some reason I totally bought in to it as a documentary even thought I knew it was fiction. Scared the be-jezus out of me.

I agree with Bobolina. Nosferatu is a great movie. It's more haunting than it is scary.

That being said I will bust out Evil Dead. All other slashers Blow.

I'll admit, no movie scared me as much as The Ring did watching it alone in the dark.

There hasent been good horror sinse.

Before that tho, The Amatyville Horror, Excorsits, Omen and Poltergiest scared me shiatless as a kid.
