I saw that on network TV the other day, so why does Jap-link (whatever) think it owns it?

/who knew the Vietnam War used product placement?

Howie_Feltersnatch: OK, what do you want to bet that "cast fetishists" are involved? I don't understand why their ideology of death hasn't been banned already.

Stop it, you're killing me.

/wants to see the words "cast fetishist" in every thread for at least the next week

Colbert is an asshat anyway along with John Stewart. No better than Limbaugh.

From one of the sideframes in TFA: "Jalopnik loves cars. Secret cars, concept cars, flying cars, vintage cars, tricked-out cars, red cars, black cars, blonde cars - sometimes, cars just because of the curve of a hood."

Well just why not get a garage and hump your car ya freak. Hell Theres a site for Hummers that have it already.

/maybe he already does

Satire is still only funny if it's FUNNY.

danlpoon, try 'repoire'.

zorks, well played, gotta love Wallace Shawn.

jalopnik, Amusing for people in the know enough to 'get it'. Much funnier for the utter confusion in this thread!

Embarrased for the Colbert fans that understand his satire, but have to be told (repeatedly it seems) when someone else is doing it. Pick it up, Heroes!

/shenanigans is totally tits
//but is it lame or sweet that South Park is affecting pop culture vocabulary so much?

This is a little off topic but:

Stephen Colbert gets on my nerves every time he pronounces "Colbert Report" like "Colbert Rapport". Fricking stop already and say the GD word like god would say it: RE-PORT. It's fockking irritating. You'd think he was a retarded canuck or something.

Actually I believe the reason he pronounces report as "rappore" is because he prounounces Colbert as "Colbear". Since both end in "rt". I think it's a genius subliminal joke that a tard like you doesn't get.

!request the "No More Tears" pic

/ Any article that refers to itself in third person is pretty attention-whorish...

Jalopnik is pretty decent.

I don't get how he could "steal" a commercial from them if I've seen it on TV a few times. I'm pretty sure the Report has a Tivo somewhere. I think the GM reference in his show was just a courtesy. GM probably doesn't give a shiat if he uses it on his show for a piece.

2006-10-04 04:46:55 AM
Yes, but his last name is pronounced "coal-bear". If he was so genius he'd pronounce "report" like "repair".

There, now you can get back to tossing his salad, fa-ore sniffer.

Wow. You sure showed him. So witty. So caustic. So original. I wish I could be just like you. You're so cool.

/yeah, you suck
//DURRR! Dair's a joke on teh movin' pictures dat I don't geet! Dat's 'tupid!!
///don't tell Colbert how to do his job, and he won't tell you how to be a humorless prick

Where did jalopnink lift the video from to begin with? Quite sure GM didn't decide to share with some 8th tier website.

BTW, funny that they consider Colbert "right wing". Satire is funnier when some don't "get it".

2006-10-04 11:18:06 AM
Colbert is about as relevent as that asshat that does the Mr. Goodwrench commercials.

moosey: Awww. If you can't realise when someone is being purposefully melodramatic (and not serious) then you're the humorless prick.

/I'm sure Stephen has better things to do than tell me how to be a humorless prick.
//Seems like his plate is full with your tutorials.
///Maybe I'll catch him when his schedule opens up after your graduation.
////Likes Colbert by the way, and watches his show faithfully.
//Is suprised an unfunny windbag like yourself could appreciate his style of humor. Congratulations to you.

BunkyBrewman -- actually, GM did share the video with Jalopnik -- not bad for some "8th tier website". Read the Boobies about it -- "we were included in a group of ten journalists to view the spec ad..."
