(Bayraider)   Get your own 12-foot fibreglass swimming Alien (as in the film) on Ebay. Makes a great chandelier substitute. Did they ever swim in the film though?   (bayraider.tv) divider line 25

I think there was an underwater sequence in Alien:Resurrection.

SherKhan: I think there was an underwater sequence in Alien:Resurrection.

There was, but I thought the Aliens were CGI in that sequence.

I'll bet this is a full-sized maquette that was scanned in 3d to create the computer models.

They swam in Alien 4.
But you ask me, I'll deny ever seeing the movie.

Alien Resurrection may be the closest I've ever come to walking out of a movie. The thing that stopped me was the fact I was with my dad, who's a crazy fan of the first two films. It wasn't until later I discovered the only reason he didn't walk out was because he was with me.

Man what a bad film.

If you are ever in Switzerland, a great place to stop is

MUSEUM HR GIGER
Château St. Germain
1663 Gruyères

Some of the most utterly creepy and cool things are in there.

/kids will love it
//adults may have nightmares

Shrugging Atlas: Man what a bad film.

Yes it was horrible, but I could look at Wynona Ryder all day long

Not even Ron Perlman could save Alien Resurrection.

//yeah, he sucks
///Alien3 is underrated

Alien Resurrection was directed by the same guy (Jean-Pierre Jeunet) who directed Amelie, City of Lost Children, and Delicatessen. It is the black eye in his portfolio.

Anyone else get an annoying pup-under for AOL service when they opened the link? I didn't know they even still had those. 2000 called and they want their failed marketing tactics back.

Already Disturbed: Alien3 is underrated

bah.. 3 was lame as well. AvP was better than both 3 and 4 IMHO

They need to make one last one to just fix the whole damn series.

If I had the time, energy, or motivation, I'd post a lengthy treatise on why Alien:Resureection is actually an excellent movie. But frankly, I'd rather pull my own teeth out with a monkey wrench, so here are the bullet points:

I thought the production & set design was excellent.
Dan Hedaya is the man. His character was flat, but he pulled it off admirably.
Ron Perlman was also hilarious.
This movie is the only one that lent the franchise any sci-fi credibility at all. Story had some holes, but overall, I liked it quite a bit.
Of course, the theme (cautionary 'don't fark about with what you don't understand) has been done a million times, but the alien franchise provides an excellent vehicle for a don't-mess-with-genetic-engineering message, which was very appropo at the time of the film's release.
The only downside was Wynona. She sucks.

Naysayers can get bent.

Also, Alien3, the uncut version to be found on the Quadrilogy (with all original footage) is an amazing treatment of religion...brilliant...too bad the studio cut out ALL OF THE PLOT and made it into a 90-minute-theater-suckfest.

That is all.

The underwater scene was the only decent bit of Alien 4.

Alien3 is underrated
Damn straight!

And AvP sucked. It was a prime example of how to crap on 2 franchises for the price of one.

That opinion should be humble. AvP? I've seen better film on teeth. "Whoever wins, we all lose." Truer words were rarely used in advertising.
/except for, of course, Head On.
//you're still entitled to your opinion, though

The AvP games, on the other hand, are very fun.

I must be alone in thinking that A3 was 1/2 decent, I can probably attirbute that to it was the first one of the series that I saw. A2 was the best of them all however.

A.D.

Except the SNES one, that one stinks.

Alien 3 is underrated if it was a stand-alone movie; however, as a sequel to Aliens, it's a real let-down. On the other hand, AvP shouldn't be mentioned in the same lifespan as any of the Alien or Predator movies.

aliens are weak

ewoks kick the real ass

AvP was a let down, the premise was somewhat ok, but it could have gotten its OWN trilogy to really tell the story. Interesting concept about the cultures all springing from Antarctica, too glossed over. Way too soon for the release then rampaging of the queen. Could have also done a better job showing the background when it was a whaling station. The Dark Horse comics were much better, as was the series where the Alien king was created.

The next AVP takes place in a FARKING WALMART! WTF ARE THEY THINKING?!?
