The phrase is "losing it". You can't "loose" your mind. (Not without brain surgery, anyway.) "Loosing it" would mean you were untying something, unscrewing a bolt, etc.

Yup, it's how most heroin users start using. MJ doesn't cause you to smoke H, but the logical leap from smoking one drug to smoking another is easier than than from smoking to injecting. It's a (somewhat) less intense high that injecting, which is why smokers tend to move to injecting quite quickly.
