I wonder if the car's giant spoiler, huge exhaust and after-market parts stickers were damaged?

'FHP says he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash."

That'll bring its resale value down for sure.

No seatbelt = certain death when you're doing some serious stunts

I'm sure they had Whelan Jennings playing in the tape deck.

Anyone else think these reporters have their priorities outta whack? the "Oh and BTW, the kid died" tacked on at the end sorta makes the story about the stunt driving, not the tragedy. I mean, on Fark is one thing, but in mainstream media?

Looking at that wreck, I don't think a seatbelt would've made a whole lot of difference.
"Whelan?" GET A ROPE!

2006-09-24 12:45:52 PM
did you ever take it off any sweet jumps?

2006-09-24 12:49:17 PM
OMG that poor Honda! Look at all it went through.

oh, and the kid died.

Great Reporting...
I think we should round up every "local" newscaster in the country and surgically castrate them. With chainsaws.

What a dipshiat. Glad he didn't take anyone else out with him.

/If I knew more details perhaps I could be nicer... but you have to be an ass to make a car do something like that.

2006-09-24 12:58:23 PM
I've been airborne before (in a Ford Escort, no less), but twenty feet in to the air? I can't imagine going fast enough in a Honda to do that.

2006-09-24 01:00:09 PM
DFlor - My Accord's got about 250 horsepower, dunno if I could get it 20 feet into the air, but it could go pretty damn fast if I wanted it to.

2006-09-24 01:02:18 PM
Dale Ernhardt approves.

18yo boys die in car accidents all that time, but a Honds Accord jumping 20 feet in the air, flipping and destroying all kinds of stuff its path, that doesn't happen every day.

2006-09-24 01:03:45 PM
I seriously loved this headline. I never say that. But it made me laugh.
