I think this is a good idea. We should be inforcing our immigration laws and booting out everyone that enters the country illegally. THose that want to come in but want to hurry the process by doing military service I am behind 100 percent behind.

I have no problem with this but I know it sounds redneck but extensive English skills should be taught to all non-English/speaking/writing immigrants so a balkaning effect and a commomality to communicate. Not that English is superior but because it is dominant. Do we really want a Quebec mentality? And encourage Spanish in the schools as well, and over the years I've learned all the cuss words.

A soldier that is acting as a soldier to get something in return (like citizenship) will do what ever they are told with out thinking about it. They will follow orders without question and will not consider the morality of what they do... because they are getting something that they perceive as worth death in return for it.

Your average US soldier will not slaughter innocents, and if they are told to do something that is blatantly immoral or illegal by a superior officer they will question it. A mercenary (which is what these guys are effectively going to be) doesn't questions the morals or legality of an order... because doing so means they don't get their prize.

Bush will get an army of mercenaries, who will do what ever they are told because they are not fighting for their country's freedom, they are fighting for citizenship.
