Elha: Here's my house, in Australia:

You know, people can stalk you with the exact coordinate given in your pic...

They can go right ahead. I don't live there anymore.

Nah, she scrambled it. See? the traffic's going the wrong direction.

Now you can get stalked by liters, wooh.

You have a point though, the new tenants of that house may not have appreciated that, so that probably was a pretty shiatty thing to do.

the Mole of Production: Nah, she scrambled it. See? the traffic's going the wrong direction.

It's so weird, since moving to America ... traffic in Australi a is all messed up for me now too. I think I've finally gotten used to things over here!

My penis is visible from space. I'd always suspected.

Now can we get some strangeness going on?

2006-09-16 10:51:33 PM
Elha: so that probably was a pretty shiatty thing to do.

Nah, I doubt it. Australia makes it certainly harder to stalk!

I just thought that I should shoot a warning message to all.

helioquake: I just thought that I should shoot a warning message to all.

That was very considerate. I'm (more selfishly) just celebrating the fact that I no longer look the wrong way before crossing the street.

There's this one area in Nevada that looks just like Bea Arthur...

I spent a month in Trinidad and Barbados a couple of years ago. The morning after I got back I pulled out on the wrong side of the street. Luckily, no traffic.

*programs Elha's coordinates into recently aquired "Sportsman's Paradise" cruise missle*

Hey. Say "Hi" to my Mom when you get there.

First day at my new job when I moved here, I got off the train and started walking to work. No biggie, I had my directions ... started walking down the street. This woman grabbed me, and pulled me off the side of the road. I was inches away from being flattened by a truck. Just reflex, I looked the opposite way before walking. I bought her breakfast :)

Hey, how's married life? I think last I saw you had just gotten married? I remember the proposal threads about the rings and so on ... [/threadjack]

Sorry to use you as an example. But I feel better since you don't live there any more.

A little list of neat stuff I found. Hopefully the text survived the resize & compress. I can post the close-ups if you want.

Nah, I'm on the other side of the planet. However, you did ask (or someone?) for strangeness, and to me, it was always a pretty weird place, so it seemed to fit the bill :)

Despite being able to see acres and acres of backyard and apartment pools in the middle of the day, I never see any sunbathers, much less their glistening oiled boobies.

This is the mosque in Mecca (al-Masjid al-Haram), the holiest place on earth for Muslims, where millions of pilgrims go every year:

[image from img213.imageshack.us too old to be available]

The square in the center is the Kaaba, where Muslims must face during prayer, wherever on earth they may be.

That reminds me of my roommate in college, who woke me up at 5ish every morning by putting a mini-carpet on the floor and started praying.

He was a nice guy, though. Not at all religious, though he just couldn't stop praying.

Apparently it's winter in Alaska when it's summer in Canada.

Mr. Fuzzypaws, that's awesome. I totally didn't believe you until I put in the coordinates myself.

Has anyone seen the weird Scientology underground bunkers? They're near Hemet, CA and marked with circular markings.
I was telling my pilots about them on one of my flights.
I saw them from the air on a flight...I forget which one.
LAX-IYK or PSP or some other bumfark 30 minute flight.

There's also a small airstrip there. Bizarro sh*t.

If you turn on the "Sports Arena" option when looking at Indianapolis it will have a placemarker for Market Square Arena (which was demolished in 2001) and there is no marker for Conseco Fieldhouse. You can see the empty lot where MSA used to stand and you can actually see the words "Conseco Fieldhouse" on top of the other one.

/not really strange, just pisses me off

I found a rather large pond right around the corner from my house, and I have no idea how I've been unaware of it all this time.

Also, the hole where the World Trade Center used to be (as someone else has already noted), as well as my brothers' apartments in NYC, Dennis Hopper's house in Venice Beach, and some very wild and rugged islands off the northwestern coast of Scotland.

This is just northeast of Huntly, south of Auckland.
