I still have all the old Silverhawks toys in the attic of my parents' house. I loved the bad guy because if you squeezed his legs, his chest plate opened up and his "evil" head flipped up.

That was gheyer than Thundercats *schnarf, schnarf*

You're gayer than Thundercats. You're a towel. Shut up.

Silverhawks and Thundercats both had 1 serious flaw.

Lack of voice talent. They used the same 4 people for every voice in every episode.

crunch-o-matic: They used the same 4 people for every voice in every episode.

I was 4 years old, I couldnt have give a fark.

I wanted to care, I find them almost unwatchable now.

Thundercats, Silverhawks, Transformers and Voltron - the four things which ensured that the 1980's weren't totally worthless.

aw, i loved that show.

I look forward to Michael Bay raping each and every one while you cry into your Smurfberry Crunch.

Do they still make that? I want to be prepared.

I loved this show, I had the awesome plane with the separate compartments, and the lead compartment detached to be its own ship.

However, I maintain that Ducktales, TMNT, and Real Ghostbusters are the only cartoons still watchable today

Correction: Transformers, Voltron and Robotech...

Thundercats and Silverhawks were probably made in animation form after the toys were designed.....and cheaply I might add.

You forgot G.I. Joe and Starcom. Especially Starcom. (But maybe that was just me.)

That's only if we're dumb enough to shell out $8 bucks for a ticket.

MasterThief: You forgot G.I. Joe and Starcom.

I never watched Starcom. How the heck did I forget G.I. Joe? Snake-Eyes was awesome!

UberDave: Robotech

Never seen it.

wasnt there a Flash Gordon cartoon? it had an evil guy named Mandrake the Magician.. i think? wouldve been around 1985'ish?
and what about the Bionic 6 .. they rocked.

Deputy Dawg!
Tennessee Tuxedo!
and that mini cartoon that came on that had a cuckoo bird guy, a strong man, a baby that used his bottle as a weapon, and a guy made out of rope.. whatever that was.

Beggin' tha Colonel's pardon, but am I the only one who remembers the incredibly politically incorrect cartoon "Go Go Gophers"?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062566/

It was made in the late 60's, but they were still actually showing it on Saturday morning TV when I was a kid.

2006-09-14 01:24:09 PM
Holy Crap i totally forgot about that show, I was sitting here watching that going "whoa i used to watch this all the time" Thanks for the memories

Dr. Knockboots: Think that was Defenders of the Earth. Five heres with their kids, and Flash was one of them.

2006-09-14 02:46:44 PM
wow...almost forgot this show existed. Remembered it immediately after seeing the costumes though. awesome find.

Starcom was the shiat. I remember using my fridge to stage zero-g battles since all the vehicles and people had magnets on them.

What was that other cartoon where the toys had a bunch of "ziplines"? You'd attack one end to say a dresser and the other to the bed, and they would travel back and forth on it.

WTF was that called...

2006-09-14 03:14:51 PM
It was no Galaxy High

The Real Ghostbusters was good, too.

2006-09-14 03:16:32 PM
Oh snap; remember Captain Power? You could sorta interact with the cartoon/show with the toys. The jet could shoot at crap during the show, etc.

C.O.P.S., Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, good stuff.

Ahh found it. It was called Sky Commanders.. Wouldn't work today though. They'd get sued out of existance for providing "dangerous" toys.

another oft forgotten M.A.S.K.

2006-09-14 03:21:00 PM
Can't f* with the C.O.P.S. intro. Always thought it was the most bad-ass intro for a cartoon as a kid.

2006-09-14 03:46:39 PM
I used to love C.O.P.S. They had clever names like Mz Demeanor and Buttons McBoomBoom. I still need to sell my entire collection on ebay.

corinthian01: another oft forgotten M.A.S.K.

MASK was the shizznit!

But does anyone remember Centurions?

2006-09-14 05:21:40 PM
What the heck was the cartoon with the bad guys who's skin was ripped off and see their muscle structure underneath? I remember the action figures came with cassette tapes

2006-09-14 05:28:54 PM
Loved Silverhawks. Loved BlueGrass (the cowboy looking one). He was a rarity. I'm not sure but I think he used his Electric Country Music as a weapon.

2006-09-14 06:48:41 PM
I gotta go with UberDave on this one. Robotech is the best and still most watchable cartoon from back in the '80s.

2006-09-14 09:35:09 PM
galaxy rangers intro. I can't remember anything that happened in any episode, but I know that I loved them all.

2006-09-15 02:19:27 AM
I definately have to start posting some of my memories (some newer than others and in no particular order)

Centurions
King arthur and the knights of justice
Inspector Gadget
Gobots
Ducktales
X-men
Tigersharks
Voltron
He-Man
and there's one I can't remember. It had a team of police officers; one of which rode a monocyle. someone find this one please!!

I am still bummed that The Real Ghostbusters has yet to be released in full on DVD. I would so love anybody who posted the full original 'Collect Call of Cthulhu' episode to YouTube.
