I say let em keep doing that. More and more white people are waking up to being called a racist every 5 minutes, and are finally starting to ignore it. In my experience with Latino/Hispanic citizens, I've always found them to be much more passionate, enthusiastic, and unrestrained than the Caucasians I know when they express themselves. They also seem to be fond of more flamboyant, bold colors on the things they own, the clothes they wear, etc.

It's actually quite admirable to see that level of pride and enthusiasm in a group, however the flip side is that when you piss someone like that off, they're really going to show it.

All generally speaking, of course. I've known some very laid-back ones as well, they just happen to be in the minority for me at this time.

I look at it this way. If you ever been to Austria, there are virtually no ethnic minorities. So in my experience, Austrians and many other Europeans have a very naive view of how to view other races.

Actually there was some women on NPR who was the head of some Chicano group/council/whatever who was ranting about the comment, saying how proud she was of her heritage, and how....

It was pretty funny because they actually cut the clip while she was still talking. I could totally imagine some sound technician thinking, "Ok... now that's enough from that batty broad..."

The minority "leaders" make a big stink about everything because it gets them in the press. The problem is that this actually has a negative effect, since more people are irritated than convinced of wrongdoing.

I don't think Schwartzy was being very smart saying something like that, but he's entitled to his opinion and he does have somewhat of a point. Question is, is it blood or culture? Whites could just be less expressive because that's how they're tought to act, not because they're naturally that way. Or it could be that whites tend to come from colder climates, and the lively people tend to like hotter climates.

Hey! The Governator is doing a better job than the vast majority of other politicians. Just look at the yahoo in charge of this country. And the yahoos in charge of the Senate. And the House. Once you take that into account, the former actor/bodybuilder doesn't seem like such a bad choice anymore. Plus, you can be sure that he won't bend over and take it up the ass when you wave a little money in front of his face (like most other politicians would).
