2006-09-01 10:15:02 PM
I have to say.. that I feel horrible after reading that headline. Sorry, submitter.
2006-09-01 10:15:44 PM
waiting for season three for birthday....why does fox hate good tv?

I've heard Futurama is coming back, but on comedy central...any confirms?

2006-09-01 10:16:28 PM
WTH? Why can't networks just stick with a good line up? No WONDER America has ADHD. YOU DO NOT NEED A NEW SHOW EVERY 3 WEEKS.
2006-09-01 10:18:23 PM
You think America is bad? What about in Britain, where it seems like half the series only last about a dozen episodes.

/Damn you and your short-term comedic genius, John Cleese
2006-09-01 10:18:31 PM
I know that Futurama movies are in the works, but not sure about a new season.
2006-09-01 10:19:02 PM
yeah, futurama should be on in 2007, i think they are producing scripts that had already been written. that was a show that started out wea and got better, but lost it's audience before it was able to snare them. like arrested development, i wasnt able to actually see the majority of the apisodes until they came out on dvd

And yes, CC won the bidding war for the rights to Futurama...I think Wikipedia has much info.
2006-09-01 10:20:32 PM
Wow, way to hit a guy in the guy, submitter.

/watched Arrested Development from the first episode
//best three seasons of television in history
2006-09-01 10:20:41 PM
To all the farkers that didn't know, Arrested Development is being syndicated on G4 starting monday. That's the only show now worth watching on G4.
2006-09-01 10:21:21 PM
One of those "guy"s should be "gut."
I'll let you decide which one.

wrjohnston91283: ....why does fox hate good tv?

It's not that they hate good television. In fact I'd say they are indifferent to the shows. Shows are just filler for ads. They only care about attracting viewers and selling ads. The sad fact is nobody was watching Arrested Development. Fox mercifully gave it plenty of time to attract an audience.

The real question is why do the viewers hate good TV?
2006-09-01 10:24:53 PM

your "come on" brought a smile to my face, i have been really emotional about the loss of my alter family the bluths, i also felt the absense of steve holt from the finale. god, i am so sad about this whole thing.
2006-09-01 10:25:14 PM
I'm still pissed about Fish Police, The Brothers Grunt, and Greg The Bunny all getting the axe.

/I know there's a few left of that last one, but I haveth no IFC on Bumfark U. cable.
2006-09-01 10:26:08 PM
That's the only show now worth watching on G4.

You're forgetting about X-Play and to some extent, Attack of the Show.

James Brown: The real question is why do the viewers hate good TV?

While true, that doesn't excuse Fox's shiatty handling of Firefly, Futurama, and Family guy.

/F trifecta?

FOX made a huge mistake.

Kuku ka chu! kuku ka chu! = Fox

The real question is why do the viewers hate good TV?

I think part of the problem is the way they calculate ratings the 18-25 group has a good deal of money but is largely unable to be a Nealson viewer because they are at school or other such problem.
2006-09-01 10:29:13 PM
Steve Holt!
2006-09-01 10:32:02 PM
Im halfway through Season 2... just finished watching "Burning Love"...

Yea.. that headline was a punch in the gut. =/

"I may have committed.... some..... light........ treason."
2006-09-01 10:32:03 PM
The mere fact that you call making love Pop-Pop tells me you’re not ready.
2006-09-01 10:33:42 PM
Have you seen the new Poof?
2006-09-01 10:33:56 PM
And that's why... you don't teach lessons to your son.
2006-09-01 10:35:50 PM
I want more Coupling!

josephstalin: While true, that doesn't excuse Fox's shiatty handling of Firefly, Futurama, and Family guy.

I'll agree with yo about Firefly. Pulling the show after only 4 aired episodes is inexcusable.

But Futurama and Family Guy both were on for several seasons and had plenty of episodes produced. It's not good to let a show go on forever, otherwise you end up with what The Simpsons is now. It could be argued that those shows had plenty of future potential, but if the new season of Family Guy is any indication, I think they pulled it at just the right time.
2006-09-01 10:36:18 PM
Aaron Sorkin's the man, and Studio 60's going to be huge.

It's the only new show I'm going to season pass on Tivo other than 'My Name is Earl'...The rest of the schedule reads like attempts over talent.

/Damn you and your short-term comedic genius, John Cleese Britain, 12 episodes is a complete season ( they don't like to waste taxpayer money on 24 ).
2006-09-01 10:37:08 PM
Those are balls.

Bek: What about in Britain, where it seems like half the series only last about a dozen episodes.

That's usually a deliberate decision to complete a series and end it while it's still good. If you don't think that that's a good idea, do you believe that you'll still be interested in Lost by season seven? In the US shows are too often dragged out beyond their natural life span and then ended hurriedly when they're cancelled. I don't think there was a good Simpsons episode after Season six or seven at the latest, Matt Groening wanted to kill it off and wasn't allowed to because it was too popular.

Four seasons of Monty Python was one too many and John Cleese knew it. There's nothing wrong with killing off a formula and allowing the talent to come up with something new.
2006-09-01 10:41:10 PM
It's like a wedding, "24" style

Anybody else hating the "long format" series now?
2006-09-01 10:41:19 PM
12 being a complete season? It's rare to go beyond 8 episodes.. and 6 certainly isn't uncommon.

I just finished watching episodes 1 and 3-9 of Season 3. The last four episodes will have to wait until tomorrow, when I can watch them as one long awesomeness. Goddamn, I love this show. I even liked "Prison Break-In." fark, I like every episode.

"I've got this Christian girlfriend now, and she's trying to get me to be a better man and reconnect with my son. And I'm trying to get her to renounce God and fark me."

/come on BBC, get off your bloody bums and get to Series 2 already, you twats.
2006-09-01 10:51:37 PM
Arrest Development wishs it was as good was Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me. Ohh what's that you only watch TV that has a fanbase of moronic webdwellers, okay then carry on.
2006-09-01 10:51:37 PM
Am I the only one who thinks that "Heros" sounds like a knockoff of "The 4400"?
2006-09-01 10:52:19 PM
I'm still pissed that Nightmare Cafe was cancelled.

No you are certainly not! Lots of ordinary people all being turned into superheroes at the same time has indeed been done to death.
2006-09-01 10:58:32 PM
IMHO, the problem is the Neilsens. They are archaic and need badly to be replaced. Taping of shows, TiVo and multiple TV's in one home are not factored into them to any responsible degree. Let's face it, once cable became a force in the market, Neilsen ratings became a dinosaur.

That said... I miss the BLUTHS! Thanks for the infor re; G4, Mr. Boomin'Granny. I'll be watching.

/slashie watches, too
