Hold on...

You just mentioned a political campaign and "keep it clean" in the same post.

Please.. take your silly nonsense talk from this place at once!

That article was hilarious. I haven't read something that defeatist in quite a while.

I don't like arnold but I don't consider this ad "unfair".
The "tax increase" accusation is somewhat a misrepresentation.

Aren't all tax accusations/promises ("read my lips") somewhat of a misrepresentation?

Atleast the ad is talking about some policy decision and not the guys sexuality or if he was or wasn’t injured in Vietnam or if he fathered any illegitimate kids

Just like his performance in Pumping Iron, psyching out poor Lou Ferrigno.

Wow, an ad mag talking about how amazing a campaign ad is and how the ad is the deciding factor in what will certainly be a victory for the ad buyer.

Somehow I'm not convinced.

/not a fan of Angelides or Schwarzenegger

This is typical US campaining. First, you trash the hell out of everybody else by saying they eat babies for breakfast. Then about yourself, you say shiat. Notice how he points out that his opponent eats babies (raise taxes) yet doesn't say a damned thing about how he's going to do the job.

Vote for me, because I think my opponent sucks.

Agreed.

That's my Governator!

Only in America can a dope-smoking, steroid-abusing, visa-violating son of a Nazi policeman be a genuine political force.

/My governor can beat up your governor.

Note that this ONLY works in two way races. In races with three or more canidates (primaries, or a race with two strong major party canidates and at least one strong third party or independent canidate), this doesn't work. What happens in that case is that if canidate A attacks canidate B via negative ads, canidate C wins.

Examples:

Feingold was, in theory, in a distant third place in the primary for the senate seat in 1992. His two opponents mudslinged themselves to death; he won with 70% of the vote.

In the 2004 Democratic primary, Gephardt and Dean did the same thing, allowing Kerry to come from behind and win the early primaries.

Having once been a resident of Minnesota (see: Twins fan) and being a current resident of California, I have to say that I'd pick the Navy SEAL over the body builder in an unscripted fight.

In a scripted fight, of course it's Schwarzenegger.

/Vote Quimby!
