2. He always puts out great albums.

Uh, yeah...

Anyway...

If he's not gonna rap on it, what's the big deal? A lot of rap is simply traditional pop songs with rapping. Not saying it won't be an ass sandwich, but considering the stupendous crap that's all around, why direct your ire at this one project in particular?

I am hoping that my block on MTV/VH1, and my satellite radio will have the prophylactic effect of making sure I never hear any of it.

Unless they use it in ads during hockey.

hey, now we might get a hip-hop album that doesn't suck.

2006-08-26 10:59:48 AM
Um...wouldn't it be sort of counter-productive for Elton John to release a hip hop album, considering that he doesn't write his own lyrics?

Just so he doesn't recycle that farking "Candle in the Wind" song for another dead blonde, he can do what he wants.

And rent "Free Enterprise" to see Shatner and hip hop.

When the dust settles we are gonna be left with a compilation album with all tracks using piano/synth samples recorded by Elton.

/Move along people, no real story to read here.

How is this something to "vow" to do? If he had steadfastly refused to record a hip-hop album, but finally gave in to pressure to record one, then he could "vow" to do it. If recording a hip-hop album would somehow save the world, it would be something to vow to do.

But if he's just thinking about doing it, then he should simply promise to do it, or perhaps, threaten to do it.
