Maybe the so-called "journalist" once worked for a sheriff's office. We tend to use the word in that context: "Hey, someone's here to bond out Chester Childmolester*, get him ready". Not saying it's correct usage, just common usage.

Not on the news there isn't.

At this point though, I can't imagine anyone other than a pedophile stupid enough to want to help kids out when there is very real danger that an overparanoid parent or pissed off kid will raise accusations that would destroy your entire life for the rest of time. Sure, I like kids and doing the Big Brother thing might really help another human being have an easier time in life... but damn... way too risky to even consider in my book.

I coach a team with my girlfriend. So we're always together and the parents know that we're dating (and have been for 2.5+ years). It really simplifies my life, since I coach cheerleading, and all the dates give me the evil eye until they find out one of the other coaches is my girlfriend.

After they find that out we talk about football and sometimes I skip practice and grab a beer with the parents.
