Phone games suck. They are all ripoffs.

Can someone explain to me why the consumer electronics industry is so eager to get people to do *everything* on their cell phones? I honestly just don't get it.

I want my cell pnone to make and receive phone calls. That's it. I can listen to music on my iPod. I can take photos with my digital camera. I can keep my schedule and contacts in my datebook. I'm not really a gamer, but I would rather play games on a computer or console or portable game system.

It's better in pretty much every case to use an item that was designed for a particular purpose, not one that's just a bit of tacked-on functionality to some uber cell phone.

When they try to make one device to do everything, invariable it does nothing very well, and the battery life is incredibly short.

Cell phones have the "Swiss Army Knife Syndrome". They want to do a bajillion jobs, yet each tool is too small or not sharp enough for the job.

TheGoldenBoy - Cell phones have the "Swiss Army Knife Syndrome".

Yup. Instead of just adding the occasional basic feature and improving it as time goes by, they are just adding a bucketload of poorly thought out functions which dilute the importance and attention that the original features need.

Wait... they made an "OC" game?

Does that mean I'll be seeing "House, M.D. - The Game" in the near future?

A game where you're a sarcastic, patient-hating doctor could be fun... especially if they include the ability to decide how medicated you are when you're playing.
