2002-06-29 11:14:33 PM
Also, I know my coat of arms and this is not it, the proper coat does not even share a similar image.

2002-06-29 11:14:38 PM
What utter shiat. They have the origins of my last name all wrong. My name is Nordic and did not originate in England ever.

2002-06-29 11:14:43 PM

I thought the site was crap also, but they did describe the correct Coat of Arms for my family name...after I switched it from English to German.

My grandfather a long time ago spent a lot of money tracking all this stuff down...of course I never paid attention to any of it, except for the Coat of Arms.

2002-06-29 11:18:35 PM
Apparently if my last name was 'Cock', I might have English or Dutch ancestry.

2002-06-29 11:19:06 PM
According to our research, the origin of the name is Scottish and the Coat of Arms contains Red with a silver cross and a rose at the top. The Crest is a rooster.

They've come to catch the rooster...yeah...

2002-06-29 11:19:20 PM
My last name is the german word for prostitute.

Sometimes it's best not to learn too much about your ancestors.

2002-06-29 11:19:48 PM
This site got my 'coat-of-arms' all wrong, identified my familiy as Irish when it was cleary English, and then asked me to order their crap.

No thanks.

2002-06-29 11:20:04 PM
The Crest is Description not available: Very interesting!
They got the Irish part ( ooh wow Shea is tough to trace )right though.

Would you like our FREE email newsletter called:
"Tracing your Family Tree"

No, but admin@goatse_cx does!

this is the internet version of an old scam. their accuracy is generally way off and for 19.95 i can guarentee that "If your last name is one of the rare few with a historic Coat of Arms associated with it" means you have one. at least when these came in snail mail it did.

2002-06-29 11:22:22 PM
At least they got the "Italian" part right, but they have the wrong region and city. My grandfather was given a full crest and history for his birthday one year, so I know they farked it up.

2002-06-29 11:22:56 PM
You May Be Owed Unclaimed Money

Dammit, I knew it.

2002-06-29 11:24:23 PM

2002-06-29 11:24:53 PM
THIS IS ALMOST AS MUCH FUN AS PUBLIC EXECUTIONS!
my name means "big-weinered"
sincerely, Mayer Oscar

I DO know that one of my ancestors was shot in the back for deserting in the Civil War. If he had remembered his French ancestry, he would've simply surrendered.

2002-06-29 11:26:22 PM
Yep...popups AND ads. Wonderful. I'll put together all my commercial sites and submit them, too. I'll have to remember that countdown clock...it expires in only 33 minutes, you know.

2002-06-29 11:28:36 PM
The origin of my last name is the alphabet.

2002-06-29 11:28:44 PM
I know for a fact that my last name was blown by the guys at Ellis Island in the 30's when Grandpa Harry came over from Germany -- married to a Pol., had to get the hell out of there.

Still though, this site somehow knew that it was a Scottish name, that I was owed unclaimed money, like pop-ups, and have a coat of arms.

Go figure.

2002-06-29 11:29:11 PM
Sorry, we do not have the name fark in our database.

2002-06-29 11:31:06 PM
No results for "Goat," but "Sex," on the other hand...

We have written an 1800-word history on Sex. A small excerpt from this history:

Spelling variations include: Saxton, Saxon, Sefton, Sephton, Septon, Sexton, and others.
First found in in Lancashire where they were seated from early times and their first records appeared on the early census rolls taken by the early Kings of Britain to determine the rate of taxation of their subjects.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: Charles Saxon settled in New York in 1823; Sir Charles Saxton settled in Charleston S.C., aged 50 in 1820; Giles Saxton settled in Salem Mass. in 1630; Thomas Saxton settled in Boston in 1635; Denis, Henry, Joh and others.

My last name apparently means:

They're wrong anyway. My last name is Russian, not German. Way to go, jerks.
