4-year-olds??
Or as the South refers to them: Late bloomers.

2006-07-29 03:15:44 PM
Oh noes! Now 4 year-olds everywhere are going to use their credit cards and buy this on Amazon or at their local bookshops.

2006-07-29 03:16:21 PM
So what? It's biology, plain and simple. If your four-year-old asked you how a cut heals, or why muscles change shape when you move, or what is skin made of (questions I was asking when I was that age), you'd answer as honestly as you could, right? How is this any different?

Not Jesus-y enough...

page six has got to be the most disturbuing/funny thing I've ever seen. At least this week anyway.

/hopes to have a baby smiling as he/she is coming out of mama.

that's some funny shiat. particularly the delivery.

yeah, i probably wouldn't lead a 4 yr. old read this, if for no other reason than 4 yr olds tend to blurt out things at the worst times, and i certainly wouldn't want my 4 yr old yelling "erection!" "vagina!" in, well just about anywhere.

2006-07-29 03:36:33 PM
Wow...the book says that "the man's penis goes inside the woman's vagina(pops)". That's bound to turn the kids into mini-serial killers and rapists right there.

It's wrong to teach your children about sex, and about their filthy, nasty bodies.

HotLonelyTeenageGirl: It's wrong to teach your children about sex, and about their filthy, nasty bodies.

More importantly, you mustn't tell them how to protect themselves from eachother's nasty filthy bits when they're busy sinning with each other in high school.

Sex it bad...

...but be fruitful and multiply!

Errr, let me correct myself...

Sex IS bad...

at that age tho, you were probably still trying to figure out why you couldn't misbehave in the supermarket without getting smacked upside the head.

Give the sex talks a rest for a couple of years. Plenty of time to hit them with the facts of life later on in life.

Weaver95: Give the sex talks a rest for a couple of years

My (just turned) 5 year old asks questions about his penis every chance he gets. He has seen at least 2 litters of dogs being born and he has a general idea how that seems to work. Talk to your kids (including reading to them if thats how you can best communicate with them) and tell them the truth.

They'll probably be better adjusted for it.

I saw a copy of this book 20 years ago.

Two best things about it:

1. When the couple's doin' it on the bed, the caption says they are "moving happily."

2. When the baby is born it comes out face first with a big smile. Whee! Childbirth!

2006-07-29 04:57:07 PM
I remember when married couples on TV had to sleep in separate beds, too. Well, not personally, because that was the time of prohibition and whatnot. But I remember hearing about it.

/read the english version of this, "Where Did I Come From?", at age 5 or 6
//didn't rape anyone
///didn't even grope anyone!

Being uncomfortable with your child talking about sex in public is temporary.

Your child having a pathological attutude towards sex in conjunction with bad information gotten from their peers is permenant and possibly devastating.

2006-07-29 05:50:01 PM
look, if you're uncomfortable talking to your kids about sex, i will

what?

2006-07-29 06:06:55 PM
Megain

My parents are uncomfortable talking to their kids about sex.

/what?

2006-07-29 06:36:38 PM
Weaver95 you know, I remember when we let kids be kids.

It's not like kids are gonna stop running around, playing with friends, getting scraped knees, and being little shiats just because they see a book about how babies are born. Not to mention plenty of people have memories of playing "Doctor" as little children anyway. Discussing the question of sex early may seem questionable, but it's a lot better than leaving the matter undiscussed at all (like my parents did, and now I'm farked up).

2006-07-29 06:43:47 PM
This is a little much. Why not hand little girls penis shaped pacifiers? It will keep them from getting preggo later.

/Being a jerk to make a point
//I think it can wait until after they are 4 years old

That can't be German; when Germans have sex there is either leather or shiat involved.

If your kid asks questions about what's his penis for, where do babies come from, etc, you should answer his questions truthfully and without cutesy euphemisms or an uncomfortable demeanor. If they don't ask, that means they don't care yet, and there's no reason to force the discussion by putting one of these books in front of their face.

If they haven't asked you by the time they reach puberty, then that means they asked their little buddies on the playground, so it's your job to take the initiative clear up all their misconceptions.

2006-07-29 06:46:45 PM
...and yet a magazine cover depicting breast-feeding is shot down by public scrutiny.

Common sense surrenders.

Now I'm all for teaching kids the "birds and the bees", but at 4 years old??!

2006-07-29 06:47:04 PM
Page six demands to be a photoshop.

/doesn't have the skills or the programs
//somebody make the baby be saying "Do not want" as he comes out

2006-07-29 06:47:13 PM
Hurray! You're never too young to learn about sex! Teach the kids buttsecks too!!

BTW why is anything NSFW? Are you all grown ups or what?

2006-07-29 06:47:20 PM
I'm sure that knowing the graphic details about sex will make them behave totally different about sex when they become teenagers and then adults, just like people throughout history have exhibited vastly differing tendencies to have sex in their teens, get pregnant at inopportune times, have affairs, and molest children. All of these things are extremely dependent on culture, as can easily be demonstrated by the fact that they're getting much worse every day, and really didn't affect normal middle-class people of our parents' generation.

2006-07-29 06:48:05 PM
My four year-olds could barely master using an eating utensil, dressing him or herself, and learning how to master basic excretory and sanitary principles at that age...

I think that sexual, reproductive matters are a bit of a "back-burner" item at that age...

2006-07-29 06:48:12 PM
Wow.Four-year olds suddenly understand intercourse!!!!Bring out the Moral Majoity!!!!!! .......assholes.

Nonsense....

Give the sex talks a rest for a couple of years. Plenty of time to hit them with the facts of life later on in life.

I'll agree with the child psychologist in the report, though -- the time to give the talk is when they ask. Evading the question will only increase curiosity and make the kid seek other sources. And you don't want to undermine your credibility as an honest, complete source of answers for your child to bring questions to.

Stupid.

Stupid for missing the point.
Stupid for trying to intentionally piss people off.
Stupid because 4 yr. olds don't know a penis from a lincoln log nor do they care.

/fairly certain at age 4 I was more concerned with coloring books than the Kama Sutra...woah that would've made an awesome coloring book...
/my idea - copywritten!

I'm sorry....who has the sluts who don't know BC compared to the rest of the 1st world? Who's your Daddy?

2006-07-29 06:52:32 PM
Seems much less asinine than lying to them. 4 may seem young, but realistically, how old do kids need to be to know the truth about sex? When they're old enough to ask.

True story:

In 8th or 9th grade sex ed, the teachers solicited written questions, so no one would beembarrased to ask something. Bear in mind we'd already discussed penises, vaginas, fertilization, gestation, fetal development, birth, etc.

One girl's question was "How does the sperm get into the vagina?"

This from someone who was old enough to bear children, some of whose classmates were no doubt sexually active already, and had ZERO clue about the most basic aspect of sex, even after hearing all about reproduction in an educational setting.

If that's the alternative, I'll start my kid on sex ed before age 4.

I'm truly sickened by the idiots who keep vital information from their kids, it's nothing short of child abuse.

You're not a father of small children, are you? Masturbation, sexual play with other children, and a lot of sex questions are very common for children in the 4-6 age group. In general, if they're not asking you those questions, it's pretty safe to assume they're asking someone else.

2006-07-29 06:58:20 PM
I'm guessing submitter doesn't like this book either, hence the "asanine" tag.
Unless that was a bit too subtle sarcasm that went over my head.

I love page 6. Such a happy little baby crawling out of his mother's womb.
