And yet the favorite American pasttime is to do nothing and whine on Fark.com about it.

GET THE fark OFF THE INTERNET AND FIX YOUR COUNTRY YOU LAZY ASSTARDS

Tried that once. It was a day I remember well, back in November '04. Some other asstards screwed it up, though.

Indiana, according to the list, is about the most dangerous spot in the U.S. to congregate; 8,591 sites within its borders have been listed as big-time potential terrorist targets. Anyone planning a massive family reunion in the environs of Kokomo probably ought to reconsider.

As a born and raised Hoosier I have to say I'm not surprised. Hoosiers are very provincial and are quite terrified of "the other." After 9/11 I had to calm down my mother because everyone around town was saying that next Friday's football game was going to be a terror target. The town only has 6,000 people, but they're still scared of terrorists there.

I also have 2 uncles in said town that are armed to the teeth for "when the terrorists come." Fortunately, they've been ready for this kind of thing as both have been talking about the coming race war for at least 20 years.

Is saying "get off fark and quit whining" the new troll-trend?

I've seen it increase among the ironically challenged lately.

Just wondering...

2006-07-27 12:26:56 PM
It's obvious really. The Empire State building, The Brooklyn Bridge, and, The Statue of Liberty doesn't have very good popcorn. I mean, if the terrorists take away our popcorn, is life really worth living?

2006-07-27 12:27:56 PM
Is Homeland Security hugely inept? or massively corrupted?

Perhaps a bit of both.

2006-07-27 12:28:19 PM
These lists were compiled by the individual states. Yes, it stupid the DHS allowed Indian to list all these BS products. But, it is the state of New York's fault for not listing the Empire State Building, Times Square, etc.

See kids, this is real trolling.
Almost an art I'd say.

Although, thanks for the voting machines, it's very unclear (clear) as to who voted for whom. But still, there were enough tardlings voting for "Bag of Dumb" to make this fraud even easier.

look, just wait until one of the major ports takes a hit in some way or another. Than we can all agree our government is a pile of shiat that doesn't care about anything but money.

2006-07-27 12:32:47 PM
The Amish will be on the top of the list because they don't NEED the government. They do just fine without any help from the government. They're independent--and that's a no-no.

Think about it.

2006-07-27 12:32:52 PM
If course an Amish community is going to make the list. It isn't like they can tap thier phones and listen to Ezekel make plans to destroy America's technological infrastructure.
They have to keeps tabs on them somehow.

(It's the Mennonites they should really be watching though)

Canadians have become the leading pinheads of the net. Why don't you fix that you, to busy being smug for no reason?

2006-07-27 12:34:08 PM
I've seen mention of this before. I'd like to hear what sort of rationale they have for a few things on this list, even if it is really just an all you can grab pork barrel buffet.

2006-07-27 12:34:17 PM
sigdiamond2000 : Godless New York has decided to side with the terrorists and against our troops. If you're looking for reasons why they're not getting HS funding, look no further than that. It was their MISGUIDED decision and now they're crying because they can't handle the CONSEQUENCES? Forgive me if I don't shed a tear.

From Hillary Clinton to Charles Schumer to Carson Kressley, New York has made it clear that they want us to fail in the GWOT. At least the Amish popcorn company is a faith-based terrorist target. Besides, these small businesses need all they can get after the Death-Tax DemonCraps forced them all to pay illegal aliens a $10-an-hour minimum wage.

Riiight. It's the people who live in New York who are responsible for not being included on the list. Those damn democraps. It's not the Homeland Security Dept's problem to worry about them. They were too 'godless' to make the list, or something.

Seriously, what the fark has gone wrong with this country??!!

Heck of a job conservatives

Where can I find this list? To whom was this list released? Someone with my name ended up on another list, the the Office of Foreign Assets Control Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. Don't know what that's all about. All I know is I can't buy airline tickets online or from a kiosk anymore, only in person. And I can't use PayPal anymore, all accounts are blocked. I hate lists. Who comes up with these things? And damn it, I want to know which doughnut shop. I eat doughnuts. Holy shiat! I eat ice cream!!! Is the Bunny Ranch on the list too? 'Cuz I love that place.

Everyone and his dog knows that. But we all took a $300 tax cut in return for looking the other way.

I'm from Indianer myself...I'm just amazed that whoever came up with the absurd list of "potential targets" apparently has absolutely no shame whatsoever. I'd feel like a total idiot listing small-town piddly crap as terrorist targets, but this guy did it proudly, with apparently no clue that he would be made fun of from coast to coast. What a moran.

moops: "HOMELAND SECURITY" is a load of BS. It started out as necessary and an essential idea post-9/11

They definitely jumped the shark when they felt their duty was to confiscate bogus t-shirts during the Superbowl.

F*cking OUTRAGEOUS misuse of public funds.

2006-07-27 12:39:32 PM
Of course it's a more valuable target. Where am I going to get popcorn for all of these flamewars? The Empire State Building? pshaw.....

(sigh) I had an older brother once, his name was Jason. He was mentally retarded, confined to a wheelchair and could only communicate by moaning, died in his 20's. We still miss him.

So far during the second term of the Bush Administration, I have seen nothing to suggest that anyone involved has a mental capacity greater than Jason's. (Second term. In the first term, we at least paid a little attention to the correct country after 9/11.)

Calls up HLS, tells them terrorists are meeting at starbucks, watches as every one of them is raided.

Sheesh, wow, I am glad I feel better, I did't want that goat to blow up when I was petting it, or my popcorn to come with anthrax (I thought it was cheddar flavored!)

That's all true except it being incompetence. These examples of insane government stupidity are tests to see what we'll accept without any significant protest. They do this to see how well we're pacified.

Anyone here remember the Orville Redenbacher popcorn stands from a few years back??? They had an amazingly good macadamia nut caramel popcorn that would've made any terroist's list.
I'm not surprised the Brooklyn Bridge did'nt make the list it's been sold so many times....

The Amish are a terrifying people.

Think about it. They don't pay taxes. They don't have to buy gas for a car. They don't have an electric bill, a mortgage, a car payment, etc. They gather up sticks lying on the ground, tie them together with twine, and sell them to tourists for $85/ea.

They've got to have more money than Exxon. I've suspected for years that their silos are covert missile bases.

2006-07-27 12:45:52 PM
If they do blow up a popcorn factory, I hope they do it while the kernals are unpopped. Cuz like then, when the bomb goes off, all the kernals will pop, and it will rain popcorn. That would be totally sweet.

"teh ghey": Internet speak for 'gay'.
Ha Ha Guy: posted once on a thread, got big laughs. Posted again. Continued to get big laughs. Then posted again and again and again until threads were being hijacked for NOT containing the Ha Ha Guy. Eventually Jeff made a thread to basically say 'here, do it all here and it it out of your system'. Which everyone did. Now it's calmed down to about the level of any other Fark cliche.
