His name is Lance. He never stood a chance.

To all the girls/teens/collegiates who are now teens/collegiates/adults... who grew up with N*Sync... who thought that Lance was hot... and especially to that girl/teen/woman who allegedly inspired him to go into space:

He should sing the "I'm Gay!" song from Brain Candy.

I remember like 3 years ago Dateline had something on N'Sync and they were showing video of each band member when they were in high school. The one they showed of Lance was of him playing Paddy Cake with a female member of his Chroir Group....WHEN HE WAS A SENIOR. I told my sister then, YEAH HE IS STRAIGHT.

You know what really annoys me about this? He's been dancing around this issue for years, but when he finally decides to come out, why does he do it? Because he's working on some "gay Odd Couple" sitcom pilot. Same with Rosie O'Donnell and the gay cruise line sponsorship, and then there was some LPGA golfer who did the same thing. Heck, even Ellen DeGeneres came out only when her ratings were flagging and sweeps month was coming up. In other words, they came out when there was a buck to be made from it.

You want to be a positive gay role model? Just farking come out already. Don't wait until you have some book/movie/TV show to promote, or some sponsorship money to make. If that's how you're wired, and you want to be happy and healthy, just do it. Because to my way of thinking, the message this sends out to young gay people is that unless there's a buck to be made from it, you're better off staying in that closet.

Any gay FARKers wanna chime in on that thought?

"Screw his ass, gay-bass!" (Anyone get that?)

ToxicMunkee: Will there ever be a time when "coming out" isn't such a big freakin' deal?

Probably when there aren't large groups of people spreading hatred, fear and contempt of us. Personally, I have never "come out." I simply began acting as if everyone already knew. I find that many people don't have a problem with gays and lesbians, but they do have an issue with pronouncements to that fact. Strange, but true.

I wonder if any of his fans will try to sue him. I am, of course, assuming he has fans.

smoky2010: Surprise, Surprise, SURPRISE!!!1!

My mom used to sell real estate in Hawaii. She had a listing once across the street from Gomer's house, and many times saw him coming and going with different guys. SHAZAM!

oh i love it when clearly gay people "come out." I had a friend that did this to me just days ago, it went something like this.

him: "i'm gay."

me: "i know"

him: "oh, ok."

2006-07-26 01:49:10 PM
Could they include any more gay double entendres? Gives me the vapors.

2006-07-26 01:49:14 PM
Bwahahahahahah! I can't get past that picture. With his crossed eyes and shiat-eating grin that guy looks exactly like a buddy of mine when he's totally wasted. Oh man I'm going to have some fun with this.

My father HATES the Gomer Pyle USMC character. He was in the Marines and hates the image he portrayed...

If he does he have (had?) the ghey, it would explain why the guy can sing like a bird!

Im just glad the russians changed their mind about launching him into space as a space-tourist a few years ago.

The last thing we need is to infect outerspace with "gay"

I must admit, I do like *NSYNC. I'm in that age range. I have several fans that loved Lance. I helped them with their Lance-love by helping them acquiring pictures and running a website for them. I am NOT surprised by this at all. In fact, my sister and I would crack Lance jokes all the time. The attempts to make him come across as a heart throb just made him thst much gayer in our eyes.

I don't want to keep bashing him. I hope he's happy with his life. But I'm not surprised at all.

2006-07-26 01:55:56 PM
Will someone now inform the NSync guy with the dreadlocks that he is white?

I agree with you, there seems to be a trend where coming out of the closet is used to gain publicity. There's another part to the problem though. Would these people have become famous if everyone knew they were gay from the start? I don't think so. Gay-from-the-start celebreties appear "niche" and get relegated to the C list.

Now Justin Timberlake needs to come out of the closet. He's so overtly sexual about everything and so macho "look at me I'm a heterosexual, I love broads!" that you know he's hiding something. Cameron Diaz is just a beard. That's why they've been together so long. It's easy to keep a relationship long lasting when there's no real relationship to begin with.

Oh,he also needs to come out of the closet and admit he's not talented.

OK, so somebody's posted the O RLY owl, the YA RLY owl, kittens, etc. However, in the ONE place it's absolutely appropriate, a thread about a guy going gay, NOBODY has posted the BUTTSECKS owl??????

I'm ashamed of you all.

I think darkyn has a better idea. I really don't care if someone's gay or not. If you want people to stop making such a big deal out of it, do your part by not making a big deal out of it in the first place!
