You know... my feelings were almost hurt... It's actually kinda amazing just how little I care about your opinions. Many times, people will use their post or picture (PS) to link to a url or site... I've never heard a complaint until today. Something as simple as a harmless & shameless plug, and you folks suddenly have nothing better to do than raise hell. Blah

Desecrated

Yeah i sort of get that idea, too. The pics are nontheless funny, but the posts are sort of look-a-like spam. The stuffs on topic though, which is cool i guess.

"9-1-1 Emergency..."
I can't get my email.
"I'll send an officer to beat you over the head because you are a moron. Until then, suck on your car's exhaust pipe."

2002-06-25 03:48:23 PM
When I called AOL to cancel my service, I ended up calling 9-1-1 because the farking AOL salesman wouldn't let me just cancel my damned subscription and hang up. Prodigy sales service was even worse, if that's possible.

Steve Case: Appropriate spam, what a concept! ;)

My grandmother used to be an AOL user. I killed her while she slept. She's much happier now.

WOW! A "semi-flamewar" and I wasn't even expecting it. DOWN WITH SPAM! MCIris Sucks! That e-mail was stupid.

Hahaha, like poking the fire with a stick.

When people will plug a company or something on the boards...they let people know it's a plug...they don't do it underhandedly...Feelings?? This is the internet...there are no feelings!! "Are you crying? CRYING? There's no crying in baseball!!"

this is to that one guy Dep._ (told ya I was lazy)

If you noticed they were all done in a period of a minute.

I did notice, you stupid goatfvck, that's why I PUT BOLD TAGS AROUND THE FARKING TIME STAMPS!! I was commenting on the propensity of us Farkers to all simultaneously come up with the same joke, in this case posting three right next to each other. Sorry for using your name in vain; I didn't know you were going to post that asshat link while I was posting myself, thus ruining my humble joke. Dickhead.

You are not winning any popularity contests today, are you?

It's not the shameless plug, it's the fact you did it in such a deceptive manner. People clicking on that link didn't do so because they like your web designs - they did it because you tricked them.

If you had said something like:

btw, please vote for my web design company by clicking HERE

there wouldn't be a problem. At least that's what I think.

2002-06-25 03:53:21 PM
Umm, I got confused. My bad. My apologies to Department_etc. That rant should have been directed towards Eltonwise. The two posts kind of ran together.

Not to say that Department isn't still an asshat. I'm just saying, is all.

*goes into lurk mode*

You know.. by the way some of you took the whole link deal, you'd think I was about to win a big damn prize or something. Geez... perhaps you fellas might need to step outside for a smoke break or something... probably couldn't hurt. (unless of course a huge jetliner fell out of the sky, and landed on your punk ass, at which point I'd probably laugh my butt off right now)

Alto_Reed:

"Asshat" that's funny I have to remember that, on another note my friend has a band named "AssFinger" (not entirely sure what that means...no he's not gay)

and no this is not a shameless plug, because I wouldn't want any of you to actually be exposed to this band

Dpt.of.R.Dpt

perhaps you fellas might need to step outside for a smoke break or something

If you were English, you could have said perhaps you fellas might need to step outside for a fag break or something

They'd find you wanting for them, of course. If you were English and all that...

NO WONDER IT'S NUMBER ONE!

Yet again you have missed the point. You made a fake link so that hundreds of Farkers would vote for you. Don't deny that if you win a Diamond Web thingy you will post the award on your home page. That's the reason you entered the contest isn't it?

What does it say about your business when you have to resort to tactics like that?

2002-06-25 04:12:23 PM
I just noticed you already have the thing in your awards section. My bad.

That doesn't change the fact that you rigged the voting though ...

The_Department_of_Redundancy_Dept.:

Lets use an example from your website to point out what you cant get through your ignorant brain.

SRC: Mciris Designs

Mciris Designs has been recognized time and again for our innovative web design, integrity in dealing with our clients, and a work ethic second to none. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the following organizations for their generosity in presenting us the following awards.

Now lets take a look at your post.

Give it a few more years, and pretty soon it will be known as AOL/Time Warner/Microsoft/Blah Blah Blah/ Corporation... Bill Gates will rule the world still someday, somehow...

There is absolutely nothing about that post that says innovative web design, or work ethic. Oh wait, that says a lot about work ethic.

Let me give you a tip: Frames? No. *shakes head*

2002-06-25 04:21:09 PM
Fair enough I suppose Philo :-)

2002-06-25 04:23:46 PM
Speaking of pilimg on, did anyone ever play smear the queer in elementry school? Like football with no rules, no plays, no scoring, no nothing. Just hit whoever had the ball. I don't think they allow that in schools anymore. But it was extra fun in the rain. We get in trouble when we came back from lunch, but they never stopped us.

Tricking people into voting is lower than low. Voting's just low.

For shame.

2002-06-25 04:46:42 PM
Okay, now that was just funny. Although something like that does appear elsewhere (SAwful Forums) its good to know that when it shows up on Fark, its a joke.

Looks to me like an email from AOL.

2002-06-25 04:48:40 PM
Well, 's comments have awarded him another email describing his deceptive voting methods. Farking troll if I've ever seen one.

I work at a small ISP in Richmond, Virginia that serves also to Chesterfield County. We have had a few users who said this also happened to them because we have 3 numbers that begin with a 91. It evidently is a telephone switching problem. I spoke with Verizon who proceeded to give me the run around, but someone slipped up and said that when someone dials a 91 and pauses for a second or two, it gets automatically forwarded to 911 dispatch. So for once the problem does not involve AOL, but infact Verizon and users crappy computers who can't dial out accordingly.

Thank you.

Wha? What'd I miss?

Oh, when one of my non-computer literate friends was trying to set up AOL on his computer back in '94, he entered the state or area code or something (I have no idea how he did this) in wrong so every time he dialed to get a list of aol connection phone numbers, he'd hear this poor old lady in Alabama (he lived in CT) go "Hello, who is this? Hello, hello [screech beep beep beep...]" The sad-but-funny part of this is that he kept it up for almost an entire night not realizing what those "voices" eminating from the modem were supposed to represent, and cursing the fact that he couldn't get it to work. I fixed it as soon as I found out, but that still really sucked, particularly when his mom's phone bill arrived. AOL'ers are morons.
