(ESPN)   CFL game ends in a 100-yard touchdown. Pick your own punchline -- A) It's only 17 yards American, B) It's further than the Maple Leafs will go or C) That doubles the offensive output of the Detroit Lions this season   (sports.espn.go.com) divider line 32

You can play games with compact fluourescent lights? Sounds dangerous.

Lions will have a great offense this season.

Which WR did they draft in the first round this year?

Martz is an offensive coach and Kitna is a capable QB. The wide receivers were never the problem.

It's the Lions. Sure, everything looks peachy, but it's the Lions...they'll find a way to screw it up.

Worst franchise in professional sports.

At least we still have the Pistons, Red Wings, and now the Tigers.

(d) It's more yards then the NY Jets QB Chad Pennington will throw this season (assuming his arm doesn't fall off)

The correct answer is C.

I'm probably the only farker who thought you were talking about these Lions:

didn't they say the same thing last year? they won a few of theie first game, and then everything fell apart, like it usually does.

Canadians play football?

I think the lions will do what the tigers are doing this season. I am not talking about leading the division in the second half of the season, but come out and surprise everyone, even their own fans.

I would like my cable provider to show some Canadian Football league games. Does comcast broadcast any?

I was at an Alouettes game last season that ended in a 99 yeard touchdown with zero time on the clock.

Worst franchise in professional sports.

Don't take away the only thing that the Phillies can get their mits on.

Yay Philadelphia!

The Tigers usually did good the first month of the season, just like the Lions, and then sure enough, they'd tank.

Well, the Tigers broke that streak, so maybe, just maybe, the Lions will too.

It could very well be one of those years where all 4 Detroit teams get into the playoffs in their specific sports last season.

I would absolutely love to see CFL games here as well. I know they're broadcast in the U.S. by someone, but finding a game on TV is about as hard as finding the World Series of Darts.

No, wait...

all you haters are just scared cause you know we're sweet. It's our year this year! After all that terrible shiat with millen we can finally...wait what...extension...how many years...yes i think that language is appropriate even though there are children around...

That was a great game. I only saw the last three minutes, but I saw a DB drop a sure interception, then a field goal, an interception, a forced fumble, a touchdown with a successful two-point convert, and then the 100 yard touchdown with no time left on the clock.

Now the Edmonton safety gets to explain to the coach why he wasn't lined up about 40 yards further downfield. Ouch.

Stereolab: Lions will have a great offense this season.

They already have a good offence. They're just a little tight because Clermont and Simmons are hurt and Warren is benched for this week, but I think things will turn around once they give Buck Pierce some gametime. I think he's much better than Jackson. Haven't been impressed with Jackson at all.

And apparently the team is out of shape. What's with all these second half collapses?!

I caught a CFL game the other day on Comcast sportsnet at 2 AM, I think they were only showing it to talk about Ricky Williams, but they were showing it. This was the CSN for the Midatlantic, so your local station may vary. Good luck for anyone looking for a CFL game though, I just need someone to start broadcasting rugby.

I get CFL football on my DirecTV Sports Pack, which kicks ass because I can usually catch replays of the games if I miss them.

My greatest shame as a lifelong Bomber fan happened last night when I turned the TV off in disgust after Edmonton's two point convert.

I had a hard time sleeping I was so pissed off too.

Jim, man....we've talked about this. You're setting yourself up for disappointment. This Lions team thought that Joey Harrington would be their saviour a couple of years ago.

2006-07-21 05:38:58 PM
Actually, you can probably bittorrent cfl games if you want to bad enough. I know someone puts the bombers games online. They're pretty slow to download though.

One of the very few things I miss about not having cable anymore...no CFL games, except for the aforementioned Bomber games on bitorrent sites. And as an Esks fan, that doesn't help much.

#will at least go to the Roughriders game

root88 Sorry, my friend, but the Chicago Black Hawks have that market cornered, boxed, taped up and sent home to mama....

\and that's even with the competition of the geniuses that are/were running the Ottawa CFL franchise....
