2006-07-21 09:10:58 AM
Your dog wants fried onions and sauce?

2006-07-21 09:33:48 AM
Ummmmmmm... cheesesteak.

Sloth_DC

kill yourself. seriously. (unless you happen to live on the west coast or far midwest and have never been to Philly, Bmore, DC, New York, Boston, etc.)

Psssst. Hey Katie, I think he was joking.

Katie98_KT

Sloth was referring to the fact that there is a typo in the headline. It says CHESSE, not CHEESE.

2006-07-21 09:36:33 AM
Katie98_KT - I think Sloth_DC is commenting on submitter's crappy spelling.

Methinks that headline gave me cancer.

Dude, I live in DC, formerly NY, and DC again before that. I spend a fair amount of time in Balmer and Philly, and I have *never* seen a chess steak. Does it have little chess pieces in the steak?

2006-07-21 09:38:08 AM
Yea, saw that after I posted. Sorry Sloth_DC I was distracted the cheesesteak goodness

2006-07-21 09:38:28 AM
I'm so tired of with the hotdog, I wanna a chess steak, baby, yeah!

2006-07-21 09:38:32 AM
Err, dudette.

2006-07-21 09:38:41 AM
Pats are ok but if you really want a good steak go to the original
Jims on South St, or Chinks on Torresdale

First lesbian Lebanese, now chess-playing cheesesteak eaters. Farkers are in a punny mood today.

Is this the thread where we mercilessly ridicule the submitter's butterfingered typing?

And where we mess with Katie98_KT for not noticing?

It is? Good! Let the cockpunching commence!

I am tired with arguing of you about chess steaks.

Cheeze Wiz.

2006-07-21 09:40:56 AM
Oh, and cheeze whiz on a philly steak is just plain nasty!

2006-07-21 09:42:27 AM
Although I get sick of typo corrections in posts, the headline should be flawless.

Sloth_DC - you could pawn it off like that. But the sight of it isn't much to rook at.

I live in PA - I look cheesesteaks, but with provolone. Cheeze whiz is teh nasty.

2006-07-21 09:42:34 AM
I love going to Pat's King of Steaks at knight. Early on I forgot how to order. Rook-ee mistake.

Hot dogs and Philly cheesesteak. With a diet like that it's no wonder he died. Further proof that a poor diet and long work hours will put you in a grave faster than you can say "he was 90".

2006-07-21 09:43:54 AM
Isn't that "Chess Wiz?"

/Somebody get Bobby Fisher offen my goddam sammitch.
//Cheeze Wiz tastes like ass. And not that sweet teenage ass either; the nasty, homeless ass what ain't been washed since Nixon was president.

2006-07-21 09:44:01 AM
EWWWWW Cheeze Whiz is disgusting. Why would you let it anywhere near a cheesesteak?!

Never had provolone though.. always american or chedder. I'll have to try that.

2006-07-21 09:44:59 AM
Sorry, but if you are going to the 9th Street and Passyunk intersection in Philadelphia, Pat's King of Steaks isn't the steak shop you need to be going to.

Geno's kicks Pat's ass up and down Passyunk!

Steve's Prince of Steaks is the best in Philly, though.

mcsiegs: I live in PA - I look cheesesteaks, but with provolone. Cheeze whiz is teh nasty.

A-farking-men. Cheeze wiz isn't even real food - food doesn't have a patent for fark's sake. But a good oozing cheesesteak with real chess, err, cheese, that's yummy yum yumsters.

Kim Jong B Illin: Oh, and cheeze whiz on a philly steak is just plain nasty!

true that! I've always loved cheesesteaks, so when I went to visit Philly, everyone i know who's from there or who's been there told me i HAD to go to Pat's. worst cheesesteak sandwich I ever had.

2006-07-21 09:46:34 AM
Oh, and don't knock Cheeze Wiz on a steak until you've tried it. It's the best and only way to have a real cheesesteak!

2006-07-21 09:46:43 AM
Oh, and cheesesteaks. What's with some people putting 5 pounds of onions in them?! I swear its just so they don't have to put as much meat. I mean, onions+meat is good, but I'd prefer not to have quite so many.... vegg--vegg--veeegggtables in my cheesesteak.

Katie98_KT: EWWWWW Cheeze Whiz is disgusting. Why would you let it anywhere near a cheesesteak?!

Go to jail. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.

You must be thinking of a "Steak and cheese".

There is only one way to eat a true cheesetake: With wiz, onions (maybe mushrooms) and ketchup to dip it in.

That is all.

Even this brit knows what a cheesesteak is.

Damned delicious that's what. Pip pip old chap, good show, jolly good sarnie what?

I suspect that eating them more than twice a year would lead to a vastly expanded waistline however.

Don't even try and convince me the first cheesesteak was made with cheesewiz. there's no way they even invented that crap until the 60s..

Therefore, I'll stick with the original.

2006-07-21 09:48:43 AM
1point21Jigowattstrue that! I've always loved cheesesteaks, so when I went to visit Philly, everyone i know who's from there or who's been there told me i HAD to go to Pat's. worst cheesesteak sandwich I ever had.

Pat's sucks.

Katie98_KT: Oh, and cheesesteaks. What's with some people putting 5 pounds of onions in them?!

Beats me - as I'm allergic to onions. They do an en passant around my digestive tract.

2006-07-21 09:49:33 AM
The article reminded me of my favorite Philly phenomenon: the obsession with local D-list actors, newspeople, boxers and singers.

Everywhere you go, there are the signed vanity pictures of local people that nobody knows. And they're dated no earlier than 1986.

Its even worse at Tony Lukes (the original, not Jr), they have local autographs from local mobsters! There is a signed photo of an old guy in a beater and sweat suit holding a baseball bat, signed Vinnie the Bat

Tired OF hotdogs. -- well and who wouldn't be? I've eaten plenty of mysterious things in my time that I didn't know about. No way I'm putting a big hot dog shaped piece of hoof and entrails in my mouth KNOWINGLY!

Sloth_DC

My grandmother's the same way. Unfortunately, like everything I know how to cook uses onions.. soooo poor me I just have to eat her (WONDERFUL) food.
