They've been doing that for a while now, if by "abortion clinics" you mean "hospitals."

2006-07-18 08:08:53 AM
On one hand, congratulations on exploiting the system and achieve your goals through legal means

On the other hand, you bunch of flaming twats.

2006-07-18 08:14:16 AM
They often replace them with fake clinics that only offer pro life counseling services to pregnant mothers often using deceptive ads.

2006-07-18 08:46:23 AM
As horrid as I think this is, it is a legal way to get their message out without shooting doctors and bombing clinics.

2006-07-18 08:48:30 AM
So step #2 is "purchase abortion clinic"?

2006-07-18 09:02:16 AM
I don't even know what to say. Just wow.

2006-07-18 09:04:23 AM
Well, if anyone wants to make some money off of a run-down office or shopping center, here is your opportunity. I have a feeling these people would overpay just to close down one of your tenants.

2006-07-18 09:18:03 AM
I wonder if we could start purchasing churches in order to shut them down... if so, I'd be willing to devote my life to that.

/Half-serious
//Just like messing with those people

2006-07-18 09:28:07 AM
Thanks, that's a great real estate tip!

Step 1: Buy abortion clinic.

Step 2: Sell abortion clinic to stupid ass "Pro-Lifers".

Step 3: Repeat and Profit!

/Yeah.. what Thosw said..

2006-07-18 09:41:06 AM
Maybe .... maybe we can buy them back, and replace them with REAL abortion clinics!

/Two can play this game!

I don't know why you'd want to stoop at their level and become as much or even more of an asshole than they are.

The "He did it, imma do it too" reaction is a bit juvenile.

Or turn them into abortion clinics! Leave the stained-glass windows and perform the procedure right on the altar. That would be awesome.

I almost died when I read that. Good show.

Well, that only makes room for another enterprising businessperson to open an abortion clinic to fill the void.

2006-07-18 11:36:01 AM
Makes more sense than blowing them up... in the Name of the Lord. Morans.

2006-07-18 11:36:10 AM
At least they're not blowing it up.

2006-07-18 11:36:44 AM
Yeah, if there's a demand, then supply will continue to appear. All this will do is drain funds from these pro-life advocates.

/Gotta buy me a clinic...

2006-07-18 11:37:17 AM
Nothing asinine about this. It's using social/economic action instead of fruitless protesting/political action. It's the way the world should work. Lazy people rely on government to do their bidding. True "activists" get out there and make things happen.

/You don't have to agree with their viewpoint to applaud their method.

2006-07-18 11:37:21 AM
Abortions for some, miniature American flags for the others!

2006-07-18 11:37:38 AM
Watch out. MADD might get the idea to buy up all the bars and close them down..Well..They allready own the cops.

2006-07-18 11:38:12 AM
hahaha this is great. more unwanted demon spawns roaming the earth for whom i have to pay taxes to support! HOORAY!

.ugh

2006-07-18 11:38:20 AM
I hear the Catholics are letting some churches go cheap, something about a settlement... something about wanting children to be allowed to "ripen"...

2006-07-18 11:38:40 AM
Next - corner the embryo market!

2006-07-18 11:38:52 AM
This is pretty stupid though. A waste of cash for a fight they're going to end up losing anyway. Outlawing something will only make offenders outlaws, it's not gonna stop 'em.

2006-07-18 11:38:53 AM
This is a interesting form of activism. If anti-gun ppl started joining the NRA in droves and then tried changing (or dismantling) it from within.... If you don't like company Xs policy, start buying up stock and destroy the company.

They'll of course restart somewhere else, but at least you've been a pain.

Well how about this for fun then Tatsuma, we buy Victorian era designed churches and turn them into Goth clubs. They would be able to make money after that. :)

Oh wow...an abortion thread on the Internet. Here's something that's never been done before, and I bet it will be full of fresh and interesting posts.

2006-07-18 11:40:09 AM
How dare they farking use their own money to do something totally legal that they believe strongly in!

2006-07-18 11:40:17 AM
Here's an alternative strategy to ending abortion:

1. Work to ensure that every woman and man has access to quality contraception and knows how to use it.

2. Profit.

2006-07-18 11:40:26 AM
ahhh, pro-lifer's. just a step down from being considered full blown terrorists. is there anything they can't do?

2006-07-18 11:40:28 AM
francisco rodriguez's aborition clinic, aka the alley behind the movie theater purchased for $300,000

2006-07-18 11:40:40 AM

I reckon youd go to hell for that

/you know, if you believe in that sort of thing.

2006-07-18 11:40:51 AM
Here's an idea if they want to keep it an abortion clinic... Don't sell it to them.

2006-07-18 11:40:53 AM
Tatsuma, put a smile on and take off your serious face. We're talking about abortion here.

2006-07-18 11:41:03 AM
sometimes y
hahaha this is great. more unwanted demon spawns roaming the earth for whom i have to pay taxes to support! HOORAY!

Well, who else are the "pro-lifers" going to execute later on, well adjusted kids whose parents LOVED them?

/irony?

"Have you ever noticed that most women who are against abortion are women you wouldn't want to fark in the first place?"

2006-07-18 11:41:11 AM
This is coming out of Kansas. It's not going to drain Pro-Life funds much to buy the one broken-down clinic that exists in the entire state, and which hasn't been functioning lately anyway because all its state funding was cut.

2006-07-18 11:41:24 AM
Well, that's one way to skin a cat...

/going to hell I know
//good thing I don't belive in hell

Tatsuma

Awesome.

Major Thomb: Oh wow...an abortion thread on the Internet. Here's something that's never been done before, and I bet it will be full of fresh and interesting posts.

... Or at least sarcasm from people unable to address these issues in any other way.

2006-07-18 11:42:48 AM
Great, now they can turn the clinics into orphanages to hold all of the unwanted kids they won't be adopting.

2006-07-18 11:43:58 AM
I wonder if these anti-choice groups were helped out by the government at all

2006-07-18 11:43:59 AM
Kinda cool, but only effective if it comes with a clause in the contract to buy that states that the current owners, opperators, or employees of cannot work in or opperate another abortion clinic.

Otherwise, it's just moving the devil you know.

2006-07-18 11:44:13 AM
I do the same with churches... I turn them into libraries and schools.

2006-07-18 11:44:27 AM
BlindMan: How dare they farking use their own money to do something totally legal that they believe strongly in!

what the hell was this?

/some freakin' people

2006-07-18 11:44:50 AM
Two things:

Changing the abortion clinic to a pregnancy advocacy/counseling center sets up some real 'its a trap' moments.

Secondly, what is stopping new 'abortion businesses' from springing up across town? Zoning Laws? Hell, the previous owner who sold the clinic should have a big fat check now.
