Not really - much prefer to watch the leafs at home...that way I can change the channel if they are teh suck and not feel bad about having mortgaged my home just to see them live.....

I wonder what the odds are I could get a cab from Kipling? Are there cabs there waiting (usually)?

Less02 stole the Leafs-suck joke of about 1000 Farkers, thanks a lot.

No idea man - I'm downtown (Wellington and York) and i can't see any cabs outside my windows, and it is usually full right now.

I feel for anyone who is stuck around here....going hoome won't be fun at all tonight....

Holy Crap! That area is usually crawling with cabbies loudly arguing with each other in a language that both scares me and amuses me at the same time.

I wonder what Front St. looks like in front of Union Station right now..

2006-07-14 03:57:10 PM
That sucks. Some people take those trains for a half hour or longer every day. A lot might have plans for tonight too. Can you imagine what a 80 KM taxi ride at rush hour would cost you?

I know - I usually wander through the Royal York to get to Union and some of the stuff you overhear makes me shake my head.....cause I can't tell if they are just yapping or wantin to kill each other.....

I'm going for a smoke in five minutes - will give update as to if there is any cabs at all on Front Street if there are any Farkers who need this info....

About 175$ to Oshawa - that is an average mind you....

$90 plus tip. Been there, done that.

Anyone needs a ride east, i'll be leaving T.O. at 6:00.

BizarreRecords

1) Gas is usually about one dollar more per gallon in Canada than in the US.

2) Have you ever driven in downtown Toronto? Downtown roads are awful and always congested.

3) Parking is a rip-off, usually about $20-$30 per day.

4) And then there's the traffic on the QEW and/or 401.

2006-07-14 04:08:24 PM
Are you saying they haven't called in the Army to help yet?

Isn't that Toronto Standard Operating Procedure? :)

I seem to remember the last time more than 10cm of snow fell on T.O. they called in the Army to help.

In Montreal we just swear more, clean off our cars, and GBTFW

2006-07-14 04:09:20 PM
Wow...I actually had to take the GO train going earlier today, but managed to get a 'ride' home. (had to walk an hour) I had no idea about this until now.

2006-07-14 04:09:45 PM
Well, being Toronto....all the 'Lookie-Lous' will be buggering up the Gardiner/QEW Westbound by now. Asshats.

Wha..... Never seen a train derailm.....ummm...., nevermind.

Where the heck do you park? Costs me $9.50 a day. For that price, i hope your parking comes with a happy ending.

2006-07-14 04:13:15 PM
Man, CN has had it tough recently. This is like the third derailment I've heard about in the last 12 months. As for GO service, they'll just run buses from downtown to the most convienient GO Station.

2006-07-14 04:13:50 PM
jakomo002,
you sir are a Dipstick.
it was 110 cm in two days and the army was called soley for the use of the eight wheeled "bisson" to help transport sick and dying people to the hospital.
but of course a know it all frog like yourself likes to pretend it was something completly different.
i guess when the army was called into Quebecikstan a couple of years earlier to help you seperartist pigs out in the ice storm it was completly differtent.

2006-07-14 04:15:21 PM
Heh, I'm here in the CIBC building and people are all "ahh! wtf o noes!". Think I'll enjoy heading north on the subway today.

Do you remember that scene in Resident Evil: Apocalypse whn all the townspeople were on the Bloor Viaduct trying to get out of the city?

Thanks for the tip. I just heard a rumour (GO site still FARKED) that they've actually cleared it up a bit and that some lines might be open, so I wait it out another 1/2 hour or so and see what develops.

Though going to a bar sounds mighty tempting anyways...

2006-07-14 04:21:53 PM
Shhh ... everyone ignore old jimpapa ... he's just upset that no one comes to the meetings at the Orange Lodge anymore.

/Not "bisson" -- "bison"
//Lastman called the army in because he was "petrified" of the snow - so, yeah, hence the laughter from places that call 110 cm a good base for snowshoeing
///Ice Storm vs. Snow Storm ... which was worse? Well, one of them knocked out the hydro grid for most of Eastern Canada for a week ... and it wasn't the snow storm

2006-07-14 04:21:53 PM
Sounds like an impromptu Fark gathering on a patio somewhere in Toronto.
