Hey, they ARE out there. Although I don't personally know any, they must be out there somewhere. I did not pay this program any attention when I heard of it. Big deal. Linda Ellerbee has in the past done some really fine work informing kids in an intelligent manner. Fact is, they ARE there, and hiding does not work anymore. (They ring the bell and peek in the windows anyway)

My Two Dads already did this a decade ago. Nick is just now catching up and they didn't even get Mike Ditka.

It's a good program in theory, as is the entire concept of "Nick News" but I doubt it really does anything. Nickelodeon admirably encourages kids to participate in neighborhood clean-up activities and all that, but I don't see kids in MY neighborhood taking out my trash. Most of those kids just tune in for SpongeBob or Rugrats.

Nick needs to bring back such classics as Clarissa, Pete and Pete, and Ghostwriter. If those shoes don't imbue some whole, good-old-fashioned congeniality and benevolence in your fellow man, then nuthin' will!

The Adventures of Pete and Pete aka one of the all time greatest shows is currently being re-run on some network called Noggin.

Becuase, with the exception of blind adherence to a religious faith, there are no compelling reasons to disapprove of consenting homosexual relationships based soley on their being homosexual. (You may of course have individual reasons why you may disapprove of a particular homosexual relationship.)

I think I've heard 1-6%.

Although I have nothing against a show featuring a gay couple, I don't think it's appropriate for Nickelodeon. Since most of the viewers don't have gay parents, I don't think the majority of kids need to tackle the issue of growing up with two parents of the same sex at such a young age (not that such topics should be hidden from kids) after watching Spongebob's delightful antics.

Signs of the Times:
1. Mr. Harry Hammond is a street preacher in Bournemouth, England. While speaking to the handful of onlookers he attracts during his street-corner homilies he was wont to hold up a sign that said: "Stop immorality. Stop homosexuality. Stop lesbianism."

Recently, he was assaulted by several hecklers who ripped the sign from his hands and threw him to the ground. Police were called, and according to Peter Hitchens, writing in the Spectator on June 8, it was Mr. Hammond, and not his attackers, who was arrested and fined £300, plus £395 costs, by Wimborne magistrates' court for "breaching the Public Order Act of 1986."

The sign, it seems, violated the law prohibiting the display of "any writing, sign or other visible representation that is threatening, abusive or insulting, within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm and distress thereby." And that heinous offense, it appears, is far graver than, say, the assault and battery, which Mr. Hammond experienced at the hands of those ever-so-sensitive exquisites whose delicate sensibilities he so grievously injured by displaying his sign.

This, wrote Hitchens, is the new "progressive" England, where there are now laws designed to guard the sensibilities of specially protected groups from all forms of upset. Those hapless souls such as Mr. Hammond who are caught in the snares of these laws must simply fend for themselves.

This is also fair warning of the problems so-called "hate Crimes" laws will inevitably create. Whatever happened to the old truism that "sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me"? Mr. Hammond suffered a reversal of that adage. So too, will, Americans saddled with "hate crimes" legislation.

2. Last Sunday morning, on ABC's "This Week," there was a discussion of the Catholic Church scandal. As has been the habit of the media, the scandal was being described as one involving pedophile priests and tiny tots.

In a valiant attempt to set the record straight, George Will began to explain that the cases involving pedophile priests and children were a tiny minority of the offenses being revealed. Instead, he tried to explain that the scandal involves homosexual priests molesting teen-agers, and the scandal is really about homosexuality in the priesthood and the perils to the young it presents.

Censorship by Sam and Cokie

Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts, however, would not let Will continue. They shouted him down and would not allow him to continue. After three or four attempts to get a word in edgewise, Will gave up.

This is called ... gasp ... censorship - the worst possible crime imaginable in the eyes of the likes of Sam and Cokie - unless they're the people doing the censoring.

Will was lucky. In England they would have slapped him with a fine.

I mention these incidents because they illustrate the climate of fear that has been engendered as a result of the rampant homosexual activism now running amok in America. Aided and abetted by the Lavender Mafia that now dominates much of the media, America is being subjected to an intensive campaign designed to convince the public that homosexuality is normal behavior, and that homosexuals are entitled to special protection against any allegations that their sexual activities are an offense against nature, and that the young must be safeguarded against them at all costs.

Homosexual propaganda is everywhere. It is infesting our schools, our entertainment media. and even our churches. The campaign against the Boy Scouts of America - a campaign supported in many instances by civic organizations, fund-raising groups and municipalities - is given credibility in the media and elsewhere despite the blatantly obvious fact that the record shows that homosexual scoutmasters are a threat to the Boy Scouts who would be placed in their care.

On one hand, the media refuse to condemn the presence of homosexuals in the priesthood, where they have ready access to fresh victims, while supporting the idea that homosexual predators should be allowed to free access to young scouts.

Let's be clear about all this. A tiny minority - about 1 to 2 percent of Americans - are addicted to the perverted homosexual lifestyle. Yet this minuscule minority is dominating the culture today, threatening anyone who dares to stand up and proclaim that their sexual behavior is abhorrent.

I have been reluctant to discuss a paper written by Dr. Paul Cameron, chairman of Family Research Institute of Colorado, Springs, Colo. The meticulously sourced paper, "The Medical Consequences of What Homosexuals Do," is stomach-churningly graphic. It is the best argument I've yet seen against the arguments being advanced by the gay propaganda machine.

Here is some of what he wrote. I will leave out the more graphic descriptions of what constitutes the homosexual practices we are being told are perfectly normal:

"Throughout history, the major civilizations [and] major religions condemned homosexuality. Until 1961 homosexual acts were illegal throughout America.

"Gays claim that the 'prevailing attitude toward homosexuals in the U.S. and many other countries is revulsion and hostility ... for acts and desires not harmful to anyone.' The American Psychological Association and the American Public Health Association assured the U.S. Supreme Court in 1986 that 'no significant data show that engaging in ... oral and anal sex, results in mental or physical dysfunction.'"

What Homosexuals Do

"The major surveys on homosexual behavior are summarized below. Two things stand out:

"... homosexuals behave similarly world-over, and 2) as Harvard Medical Professor, Dr. William Haseltine, noted in 1993, the 'changes in sexual behavior that have been reported to have occurred in some groups have proved, for the most part, to be transient. For example, bath houses and sex clubs in many cities have either reopened or were never closed.'


"ORAL SEX Homosexuals fellate almost all of their sexual contacts (and ingest semen from about half of these). ... Since many contacts occur between strangers (70% of gays estimated that they had had sex only once with over half of their partners), and gays average somewhere between 106 and 1105 different partners/year, the potential for infection is considerable.

"RECTAL SEX Tearing or ripping of the anal wall is especially likely with 'fisting,' where the hand and arm is inserted into the rectum ... Fisting was apparently so rare in Kinsey's time that he didn't think to talk about it. By 1977, well over a third of gays admitted to doing it. The rectum was not designed to accommodate the fist, and those who do so can find themselves consigned to diapers for life.

"SADOMASOCHISM ... a large minority of gays engage in torture for sexual fun.

"Sex with minors: 25% of white gays admitted to sex with boys 16 or younger as adults. In a 9-state study, 33% of the 181 male, and 22% of the 18 female teachers caught molesting students did so homosexually (though less than 3% of men and 2% of women engage in homosexuality).
"Fear of AIDS may have reduced the volume of gay sex partners, but the numbers are prodigious by any standard. Morin reported that 824 gays had lowered their sex-rate from 70 different partners/yr. in 1982 to 50/yr. by 1984. McKusick reported declines from 76/yr. to 47/yr. in 1985. In Spain the average was 42/yr. in 1989.

Medical Consequences of Homosexual Sex

"Death and disease accompany promiscuous and unsanitary sexual activity. 70% to 78% of gays reported having had a sexually transmitted disease. The proportion with intestinal parasites (worms, flukes, amoeba) ranged from 25% to 39% to 59%. As of 1992, 83% of U.S. AIDS in whites had occurred in gays. The Seattle sexual diary study reported that gays had, on a yearly average:

"1.. fellated 108 men and swallowed semen from 48;

"2.. exchanged saliva with 96;

"3.. experienced 68 penile penetrations of the anus; and

"4.. ingested fecal material from 19."

No wonder 10 percent came down with hepatitis B and 7 percent contracted hepatitis A during the six-month study.

Effects on the Lifespan

"Smokers and drug addicts don't live as long as non-smokers or non-addicts, so we consider smoking and narcotics abuse harmful. The typical life-span of homosexuals suggests that their activities are more destructive than smoking and as dangerous as drugs.

"Obituaries numbering 6,516 from 16 U.S. homosexual journals over the past 12 years were compared to a large sample of obituaries from regular newspapers. The obituaries from the regular newspapers were similar to U.S. averages for longevity; the medium age of death of married men was 75, and 80% of them died old (age 65 or older). For unmarried or divorced men the median age of death was 57, and 32% of them died old. Married women averaged age 79 at death; 85% died old. Unmarried and divorced women averaged age 71, and 60% of them died old.

"The median age of death for homosexuals, however, was virtually the same nationwide - and, overall, less than 2% survived to old age. If AIDS was the cause of death, the median age was 39. For the 829 gays who died of something other than AIDS, the median age of death was 42, and 9% died old. The 163 lesbians had a median age of death of 44, and 20% died old.

"Two and eight-tenths percent (2.8%) of gays died violently. They were 116 times more apt to be murdered; 24 times more apt to commit suicide; and had a traffic-accident death-rate 18 times the rate of comparably-aged white males. Heart attacks, cancer and liver failure were exceptionally common. Twenty percent of lesbians died of murder, suicide, or accident - a rate 487 times higher than that of white females aged 25-44. The age distribution of samples of homosexuals in the scientific literature from 1989 to 1992 suggests a similarly shortened life-span.

The Gay Legacy

"Homosexuals rode into the dawn of sexual freedom and returned with a plague that gives every indication of destroying most of them. Those who treat AIDS patients are at great risk, not only from HIV infection, which as of 1992 involved over 100 health care workers, but also from TB and new strains of other diseases. Those who are housed with AIDS patients are also at risk. Those who are housed with AIDS patients are also at risk. Dr. Max Essex, chair of the Harvard AIDS Institute, warned Congress in 1992 that 'AIDS has already led to other kinds of dangerous epidemics ... If AIDS is not eliminated, other new lethal microbes will emerge, and neither safe sex nor drug free practices will prevent them.' At least 8, and perhaps as many as 30 patients, had been infected with HIV by health care workers as of 1992.

The Biological Swap Meet

"The typical sexual practices of homosexuals are a medical horror story - imagine exchanging saliva, feces, semen and/or blood with dozens of different men each year. Imagine drinking urine, ingesting feces and experiencing rectal trauma on a regular basis. Often these encounters occur while the participants are drunk, high, and/or in an orgy setting. Further, many of them occur in extremely unsanitary places (bathrooms, dirty peep shows), or, because homosexuals travel so frequently, in other parts of the world.

"Every year, a quarter or more of homosexuals visit another country. Fresh American germs get taken to Europe, Africa and Asia. And fresh pathogens from these continents come here. Foreign homosexuals regularly visit the U.S. and participate in this biological swapmeet.

The Pattern of Infection

"Unfortunately the danger of these exchanges does not merely affect homosexuals. Travelers carried so many tropical diseases to New York City that it had to institute a tropical disease center, and gays carried HIV from New York City to the rest of the world. Most of the 6,349 Americans who got AIDS from contaminated blood as of 1992 received it from homosexuals, and most of the women in California who got AIDS through heterosexual activity got it from men who engaged in homosexual behavior. The rare form of airborne scarlet fever that stalked San Francisco in 1976 also started among homosexuals.

"Fear of AIDS may have reduced the volume of gay sex partners, but the numbers are prodigious by any standard. Morin reported that 824 gays had lowered their sex-rate from 70 different partners/yr. in 1982 to 50/yr. by 1984. McKusick reported declines from 76/yr. to 47/yr. in 1985. Genuine Compassion

"Society is legitimately concerned with health risks - they impact our taxes and everyone's chances of illness and injury. Because we care about them, smokers are discouraged from smoking by higher insurance premiums, taxes on cigarettes and bans against smoking in public. These social pressures cause many to quit. They likewise encourage non-smokers to stay non-smokers.

"Homosexuals are sexually troubled people engaging in dangerous activities. Because we care about them and those tempted to join them, it is important that we neither encourage nor legitimize such a destructive lifestyle."

And they're trying to tell us this is a civil rights issue? That youngsters should be taught that the so-called "gay lifestyle" is perfectly normal and one with which they should be allowed to experiment? It's not a civil rights issue, it's a medical catastrophe.

Given the thrust of the homosexual propaganda campaign and the progress it has been allowed to make thanks to the gay-dominated media and entertainment industry, it might just be a good time for a backlash from the 98 percent of heterosexual parents whose kids are the targets of the homosexual brigade.

I was raised in a fundie household (no TV, rock and roll, women wore dresses, etc...), I think that it is great to give kids an accurate and realistic view of the world. This is, like it or not, part of the world we live in.
Anyways, if you forbid something to a child, the forbidding of that just makes it all the more attractive to them. Case in point: I moved out when I was seventeen to go to college. For the nevt four years I went on a drugs, alcohol, sex, and rock and roll bender to make up for all of the lost time.
