Yep. The old "I'm a deputy and you can't do shiat" line. Bozo deserved to get pepper sprayed. The only reason he didn't get tazered or shot was his "status" as a deputy. If you or I had drawn down on armed sheriffs, we'd be in the hospital or morgue with a bad case of high-velocity lead poisoning.

Second Florida Trifecta in effect and it's only noon PDT.

C'mon Farkers, one more for the trifecta.

/Fark needs a Florida TAB

"I am a deputy, I don't have to do s---," he said, according to the report.

I'm going to use that line the next time the cops bust one of my parties.

I find it hard to believe that any law enforcement agency would employ such a loose cannon. Wait...no I don't.

I am showing thee Florida tags for today. Also the Florida tirfecta is too easy to achieve so is rarely noted. You need at least 10 Florida tags before anyone raises an eybrow.

Yeah. I want a guy with his sense of duty, integrity, and responsibility pulling me over and testifying against me in court.

I guess there's a rotten apple in every barrel -- but it doesn't matter how many good apples are in the barrel if you're stuck with the rotten one.

I'm not anti-cop, but guys like this in a position of authority over me really scare me.

2006-06-26 03:08:20 PM
Wow! He got the same punishment that he would've gotten if he'd shot & killed a civilian.

Aren't they being a little harsh on him?

/sarcasm

that guy's lucky to be alive, pointing his gun at a cop like that

2006-06-26 03:09:25 PM
A fine pillar of the community, this man.

Don't "they" have some sort of mental/psychological check to weed out the retards before theyare issued badges and guns?

Oh, wait...

should've used the glock taser on him. hope this ain't one of deputydave's podners.

I think when it comes to cops there are a lot of bad apples, and a few really crisp, beautiful and perfect apples in the bunch. The job tends to attract brutish bullies with a gigantic chip on their shoulder. There are a few men who are truly dedicated to protecting and serving even though the risks & stress are high and the pay is low, but I believe they are in the minority.

the pay isn't all that bad. 20 year retirement, take home car. what with a modicum of overtime and seniority, porker ought to be able to take home 100k. i'm sure there are more creative ways to make money off the books. did i forget to mention amongst the perks that they are above the law.

Looks like he's been on the Pig's diet of coffee and doughnuts for juuuuuuusstt a little to long. Would love to see that guy in a foot chase.

I can't believe I'd ever be saying this to you, untrustworthy . . . but I agree with you. I think the number of good officers is much higher than you describe, but when the stakes are high (as they sometimes are in a courtroom) . . . there's just no room for even one bad cop when someone's liberty is at stake. Unfortunately, a judge has little alternative to accepting a cop's word over yours.

And you guys have made me despise Bush for his spending policies, too. WTF have you done to me?!?

You're right. Cops don't have it all that bad. It is stressful and dangerous work, but the pay is pretty decent in a lot of areas.

I know that it has been cited that the divorce rate is very high among cops and people think it's because of the stress and odd hours. I have to wonder if it also has something to do with cops often being thugs with a gigantic chip on their shoulder.

True. Cops need to be held to a much higher standard. But they really aren't. A blind eye is turned towards them far too often when they abuse their power.

And you guys have made me despise Bush for his spending policies, too. WTF have you done to me?!?

Apparently we've opened your eyes ;P

also, it's part of who they associate with. when you're looking up peoples arseholes you loose your perspective. i truly believe that a lot of them are basically bullies at heart.
i'd have a better opinion of cops if they did a better job of policing their own!
when a bunch of turds such as this are above the law---that certainly speaks volumes about the law.
you can toss politicians into this same bucket of turds.

I so hope this happens in my neigborhood...

I agree that if this had happened to one of us shmoes, we'd be hospitalized or dead and JUSTLY SO!!! You don't point a gun at someone unless you intend to shoot them, or be taken as intending to do so. If you point a gun at a cop you deserve to be beat senseless or shot, sherrif or no.

I LOVE that he got a ticket for a noise violation too HAHAHAHAHAHA JUSTICE IS SERVED FOOL!

I love Affirmative Action (a.k.a. Bootstrapping for Blacks).

Should replace "suspension" with "termination".

jonj1980: also, it's part of who they associate with. when you're looking up peoples arseholes you loose your perspective.

Yeah, but their heads were already up their arses, so I'm not sure how much more diminished their perspectives might be ;P

i truly believe that a lot of them are basically bullies at heart.

I have little doubt of that. It attracts the bullies who haven't already been imprisoned.

i'd have a better opinion of cops if they did a better job of policing their own!

It won't happen under the current system. They aren't held accountable by their superiors or by the courts.

when a bunch of turds such as this are above the law---that certainly speaks volumes about the law.
you can toss politicians into this same bucket of turds.

Then we're gonna need a bigger bucket...

"A Boston police officer sent a .40-caliber round speeding through the hip of a fellow officer early yesterday morning in West Roxbury as the two argued over whether he was sober enough to drive, sources said."

Hmm, these would make for a great special Cops episode...

2006-06-26 03:44:25 PM
he probably thought the police at the door was the pizza guy... Then he became very upset when he found out it was actually the police, so he pointed the gun at them. Any normal person might do the same, especially if they are fat, cause we all know fat people love pizza, so much so that they would pull a gun on someone who was not carrying a pizza.

The sad things is that most people who would be great cops are the same type fo people who would never want to become one.

Seems to me, many people who become cops enjoy confrontation which is pretty much the opposite of the type of person who you want to have the job.

Wood drew his gun and ordered Howell to put down the gun. Howell then pointed the gun toward the front yard, yelling he was going to kill Dougan. At that moment, someone at the party grabbed Howell and brought down his arm with the gun.

That "someone" saved the bastard's life. He'd better appreciate it when he's doing 15-20 for aggravated assault with a firearm.

/Florida has some strict anti-gun-in-crime laws
//for some reason, I love this state.
